The rooftop deck was refined with green hardwood. It was also used to construct a wooden bench with storage space for outdoor accessories. A TV was installed adjacent to the outdoor living space, maximizing the entertainment potential of the deck.

A period correct breeze block wall was built as a backdrop to the kitchen view and an industrial charcoal corrugated metal fence completes the leitmotif and creates privacy around the property.

Nestled in the former antiques & design district, this loft unites a charismatic history with lively modern vibes. If these walls could talk. We gave this industrial time capsule an urban facelift by enhancing the 19-century architecture with a mix of metals, textures and sleek surfaces to appeal to a sassy & youthful lifestyle. Transcending time and place, we designed this loft to be clearly confident, uniquely refined while maintaining its authentic bones.

For the interiors, Matthew wanted to create a look appropriate for a remote Southern getaway, but nothing too sleepy. He started with a traditional foundation composed of classic American and English wood antiques, mellowed Oriental rugs, grids of framed prints, and Colonial portraits crowned with museum-style brass picture lamps. The original kitchen was disjointed and lacked connection to the home and its history. The remodel opened the room to other areas of the home by incorporating an unused breakfast nook and enclosed porch to create a spacious new kitchen. It features stunning soapstone counters and range splash, era appropriate subway tiles, and hand crafted floating shelves. Ceasarstone on the island creates a durable, hardworking surface for prep work. A black Blue Star range anchors the space while custom inset fir cabinets wrap the walls and provide ample storage. Great care was given in restoring and recreating historic details for this charming Foursquare kitchen.

The homeowners loved the location of their small Cape Cod home, but they didn't love its limited interior space. A 10' addition along the back of the home and a brand new 2nd story gave them just the space they needed. With a classy monotone exterior and a welcoming front porch, this remodel is a refined example of a transitional style home.

Nestled in amongst much larger homes, this Preston Hollow Spanish Mediterranean might be a bit deceptive. Scaled appropriately for the 100 x 150 lot, the house is surprising 5000 sq ft. Regarding its age, are you still trying to figure out whether it is new construction or a renovation? Built less than five years ago, it has the timelessness of a 1920′s Hollywood Hills home though designed with all of today’s amenities.
