The deck was redone in ipe to match the new seating and the oxidized steel planter. The existing narrow steps were replaced with generous treads that can also serve as improvised seating.

This is an example of a traditional front yard flower bed in New York for spring.

The clients bought a new construction house in Bay Head, NJ with an architectural style that was very traditional and quite formal, not beachy. For our design process I created the story that the house was owned by a successful ship captain who had traveled the world and brought back furniture and artifacts for his home. The furniture choices were mainly based on English style pieces and then we incorporated a lot of accessories from Asia and Africa. The only nod we really made to “beachy” style was to do some art with beach scenes and/or bathing beauties (original painting in the study) (vintage series of black and white photos of 1940’s bathing scenes, not shown) ,the pillow fabric in the family room has pictures of fish on it , the wallpaper in the study is actually sand dollars and we did a seagull wallpaper in the downstairs bath (not shown).

This type of green Wall is clean-cut and fits in with almost all types of interior furnishing styles and trendy furniture. The Butterbush plant belongs to the family of Pittosporum shrubs. It originally grew in the Eastern part of Asia, Africa and Australia. They are simply low shrubs or evergreen, small and short trees with a highly decorative-type of foliage. The Butterbush is very popular and well known thanks to its long-lasting, shiny leaves and the delightful scent of its bloom. It’s typical sweet scent recalls that of Orange trees.

Bedroom - contemporary bedroom idea in Phoenix

We designed a “tree house” suspended above the ground on glued-laminated timber columns supporting two stories, forty feet above the forest floor. Suquamish means “place of clear water”. The care of the land that drove this residence included simple strategies for capturing rain and percolating storm water, minimal excavation and removal of soils, low-impact concrete foundations, and a light structure that captures views of the forest, water, and a distant Seattle skyline to the east.

This 3 bedroom home in Bangalore was designed for a young couple, a commercial pilot and an events organiser, whose lives have been shaped by their time across Southeast Asia and their deep love for travel. Drawing from the Japanese philosophy of Wabi Sabi, the home embraces beauty in imperfection, simplicity, and authenticity. From the moment you step in, the space feels personal. The living room features a bespoke art piece stitched from natural jute to evoke mountain ranges, a tribute to the client’s love for the mountains. A 100-year-old teak rocking chair, once belonging to the client’s grandfather, now anchors the lounge with warmth and history. Layered, soulful, and quietly expressive, the home is a celebration of the client's journey, memories and identity.

Well-traveled. Relaxed. Timeless. Our well-traveled clients were soon-to-be empty nesters when they approached us for help reimagining their Presidio Heights home. The expansive Spanish-Revival residence originally constructed in 1908 had been substantially renovated 8 year prior, but needed some adaptations to better suit the needs of a family with three college-bound teens. We evolved the space to be a bright, relaxed reflection of the family’s time together, revising the function and layout of the ground-floor rooms and filling them with casual, comfortable furnishings and artifacts collected abroad. One of the key changes we made to the space plan was to eliminate the formal dining room and transform an area off the kitchen into a casual gathering spot for our clients and their children. The expandable table and coffee/wine bar means the room can handle large dinner parties and small study sessions with similar ease. The family room was relocated from a lower level to be more central part of the main floor, encouraging more quality family time, and freeing up space for a spacious home gym. In the living room, lounge-worthy upholstery grounds the space, encouraging a relaxed and effortless West Coast vibe. Exposed wood beams recall the original Spanish-influence, but feel updated and fresh in a light wood stain. Throughout the entry and main floor, found artifacts punctate the softer textures — ceramics from New Mexico, religious sculpture from Asia and a quirky wall-mounted phone that belonged to our client’s grandmother.
