They installed herringbone wood floors for me back in 2017 and still today the floors look spectacular. They are jaw-droppingly beautiful. Every time someone comes in the house they immediately comment on the floors. When installing the floors, they put in a double walnut border because they thought it looked better. They have also continued to return for maintenance. I can't recommend them enough. You get what you pay for and they are worth every single penny.

We worked with Levon and Hayasa for our project in Noe Valley. We initially came across Hayasa because we were looking at wide plan European oak flooring. We spoke with a number of vendors but it was clear that Hayasa had access to the best quality product but also understood the needs of our project and the quality of finish we were looking for. We worked with Hayasa to procure a product that they recommended. The lead time was long but this was to be expected given challenging freight conditions in COVID. This was fine for us as we ordered the product right at the start of our project. When it came time to installing, Levon was exacting in the standards he looked for in floor leveling from both the GC and his own team. This demonstrated the ownership that he takes of his projects and while it added time to the install, it meant the quality at the end was of the highest level. I would recommend Hayasa to anyone looking to get the best possible product and finish.

I was looking for someone to custom finish our material. But due to the overall project time constraints we did not have enough time for both installing and finishing on the site (which was my preferred option). We found Hayasa online, shipped our material to their warehouse in SF which they prefinished and shipped back to LA to be installed by someone else. Absolutely love the final outcome. It was a pleasure to work with them. Despite a slight lack in communications (partly due to email bombardment from my side :), I can tell they are very professional and able to deliver a high quality product!

Levon and Hayasa team pulled out something incredible. We ordered Dinesen flooring - their longest product reaching up to 34’ for a single plank. We live on of SF’s narrow streets which meant that in order for us to do the delivery, we had 2 options; either to cut the material in shorter lengths (thus altering the whole look that the full grain provides), or to close the whole street so that we can have a crane. Given how hard it is to close anything in SF (and we tried), we gave up to the idea of sacrificing the look to have them at least delivered. This is when, Levon said “I won’t be able (as a craftsman) to cut these into smaller pieces and totally destroy the product. We will do our best to come up with another plan to make the deliver possible.” Although it took some additional time and extended our overall project, I am amazed to their creativity. We saved the planks and delivered 34’ long planks to an apartment building in SF. There were some neighbors out to take a picture of Hayasa’s ingenuity. We saved the planks and ended up having a beautiful install and finish. What I really admired about Levon and his team was their commitment to solving problems and their love towards their craft. So much so that they were willing to incur more expenses to save the beauty. This is really remarkable in a capitalistic world of maximizing profits at all costs. It is worth to mention that when we ask Dinesen reps “who can pull a project like this in SF?” their answer was Hayasa Flooring. Thank you Levon and the whole team!

We knew about Hayasa through our designer friends when we still lived in SF. We loved the floors Hayasa installed at our friends place. When we moved to LA, we hired a local contractor who completely destroyed our floors. At that point we were facing a huge dilemma; either to start over and incur the costs (and delay the project) or somehow try to fix them. This is when we reached out to Levon and his team came to our rescue. They flew in their craftsmen for a period of almost a month. Not only have the floors been saved but I don’t think they could look any better. We are grateful to Hayasa team and Levon in particular for their amazing craftsmanship and professionalism!

Professional, informative, and responsive. Although I did not end up working with Hayasa Flooring Design (HFD) for my project this time (as floor installation was already included in my remodeling bid), I wanted to leave a review of appreciation for Levon and HFD. Levon, the owner, is a pleasure to speak with. He was generous with his time and advice, never pushy, sharing his knowledge and expertise for material choices and installation. He put in a lot of time and thought into trying to help me find the right flooring to fit my needs. It's very clear that he takes a lot of pride in his work and business. Even after I notified him that I had decided to go with my contractors for installation, Levon very kindly continued to offer his helpful advice. I know that for future projects, I will be calling HFD for an excellent client-oriented experience.

The folks at Hayasa have amazing depth of knowledge when it comes to flooring. We had already selected our wood flooring product, and Hayasa was recommended by the manufacturer for install. It was not a typical product, install, or finish. Our contractor had never seen it before, and Hayasa was happy to work through the details before, during, and after install to make it all come together. They did a beautiful job.

Levon and his crew did an excellent job installing a hardwood floor in the bedrooms of my new condo. It was a bit of process getting HOA approval but Levon was patient through the whole ordeal. He went the extra mile ensuring the pre-existing floorboard and closet installations worked with the new floor; it looked as if it had been installed after the floor had been put it but it wasn't. His crew made sure the floor and walls, particularly the corners, were protected. Two thumbs up.

THIS is the ONLY company you want to entrust your floors with! As a designer and having worked with many contractors, the experience of working with Levon and his team was beyond~beyond!!! His professional approach, unparralleled attention to the smallest of details, and his honest, and kind work ethic all provided an outstanding experience. We left our newly constructed house in his hands for 4 weeks, and he was in constant contact throughout the process. We had some issues with the wood grain that needed close attention, and he made sure every detail was closely managed. He far exceeded every expectation I had about this job. Walking in to a clean, stunning, color-perfected floor, with not a flaw in sight was such a relief. It was a very challenging project given the woodgrain issues, the cabinetry, and the brand new baseboards. Not only can I say Levon is an amazing contractor.... but given all his personal attention to this job, we can certainly call him a friend.

Innovative flooring design. Hayasa is great at working with me to create the office of my dreams. From selection to installation they had the all the expertise necessary to work with my designer to complete our flooring design so that it will not be aesthetic yet effective down the line. Their selection was fantastic and hayasa did an excellent job of explaining the pros, cons, and longevity considerations of each material, color, and installation time. Everything stayed within budget and was completed in a timely fashion.

By far one of the best experiences we have ever had with any contractor. Not only they are extremely good at what they do, but what surprised me the most is the level of their customer service - experience, as they would call. I consider myself a very picky person when it comes to my house and so I ask way too many questions in order to make a better decisions - something that many contractors find annoying. The whole team (from the office staff to the person working on site) always went out of their ways to answer all our questions providing an honest and extremely insightful feedback. Thank you very much for the great work - our floors are the first thing people see entering our house!

What an incredible job! We purchased some beautiful birch wide plank flooring from Carlisle Wide Plank to re-floor the majority of our house. We asked Carlisle who we should have install the floor, and they unequivocally recommended Hayasa Flooring and Design. Levon came out to quote the installation, and took the time to answer all of our questions about flooring and the flooring process. He gave us complete confidence that everything would be done right. When our truckload of flooring arrived, he and his team showed up to unload it and stack it in our house (not a line item on the quote), but Levon insisted on doing it. He and his team adjusted their schedule to be here the day the truck arrived. We had not paid Levon anything yet, and he was unconcerned that he was already working on our project by unloading the wood. His team carefully stacked the wood, and removed all of the shipping materials and the carpet I had pulled from the living room, and then vacuumed our driveway. Yes, they vacuumed our driveway! We had ordered the wood quite early in our home remodel process so there was about two months from the wood arrival to the installation date. Levon stayed flexible on a start date based on the other construction going on in our house and when the general contractor was done with his portion, Levon fit us in to his schedule. Our install was led by Roberto. Roberto carefully sorted all of the wood and inspected and repaired leveling problems in our subfloor. As he started the installation, he took great care to make sure that his initial line was straight and well established. Roberto had some concerns about the end joints, and got Levon and Carlisle involved immediately to make sure that the installation was right. He made a slight modification to his installation process to ensure that the end results were perfect. Roberto and Levon talked through the various transitions between the wood and other flooring in the house and determined that our entry way would look best if they removed a small portion of the slate tile to make the transition piece uniform. Roberto did this, and using only the wood flooring material made all of the transitions smooth and visually stunning. Roberto kept a very clean work area, and vacuumed the back patio where he did the cutting at the end of every day. We were so happy with the flooring work that they did that at the end of the project we added installing baseboards to the project. Somehow they managed to fit us in to their extremely busy schedule and did a beautiful job. I do some woodworking and am reasonably picky, but Roberto was a craftsman and did amazing work. We could not be happier, and plan to enjoy his craftsmanship for the rest of our lives. Many thanks to Roberto, Levon and HSD!
