For Project Jack and Jill, we focused on layering textures with warm neutral tones. We designed bespoke furniture, like the custom farmhouse style table, with carefully thought out details, creating heirloom pieces. We paired these bespoke pieces with curated found objects, like the antique pine dressers from Hungry, the Vine Sculpture from Thailand, and the hand woven African Baskets. Playing with scale was an important aspect of this project, which is enhanced through the use of the large Linear Darlana Lantern from Visual Comfort over the dining table. Unique accessories and pops of navy set of this sophisticated and relaxed space.

When a client tells us they’re a mid-century collector and long for a kitchen design unlike any other we are only too happy to oblige. This kitchen is saturated in mid-century charm and its custom features make it difficult to pin-point our favorite aspect!
Cabinetry
We had the pleasure of partnering with one of our favorite Denver cabinet shops to make our walnut dreams come true! We were able to include a multitude of custom features in this kitchen including frosted glass doors in the island, open cubbies, a hidden cutting board, and great interior cabinet storage. But what really catapults these kitchen cabinets to the next level is the eye-popping angled wall cabinets with sliding doors, a true throwback to the magic of the mid-century kitchen. Streamline brushed brass cabinetry pulls provided the perfect lux accent against the handsome walnut finish of the slab cabinetry doors.
Tile
Amidst all the warm clean lines of this mid-century kitchen we wanted to add a splash of color and pattern, and a funky backsplash tile did the trick! We utilized a handmade yellow picket tile with a high variation to give us a bit of depth; and incorporated randomly placed white accent tiles for added interest and to compliment the white sliding doors of the angled cabinets, helping to bring all the materials together.
Counter
We utilized a quartz along the counter tops that merged lighter tones with the warm tones of the cabinetry. The custom integrated drain board (in a starburst pattern of course) means they won’t have to clutter their island with a large drying rack. As an added bonus, the cooktop is recessed into the counter, to create an installation flush with the counter surface.
Stair Rail
Not wanting to miss an opportunity to add a touch of geometric fun to this home, we designed a custom steel handrail. The zig-zag design plays well with the angles of the picket tiles and the black finish ties in beautifully with the black metal accents in the kitchen.
Lighting
We removed the original florescent light box from this kitchen and replaced it with clean recessed lights with accents of recessed undercabinet lighting and a terrifically vintage fixture over the island that pulls together the black and brushed brass metal finishes throughout the space.
This kitchen has transformed into a strikingly unique space creating the perfect home for our client’s mid-century treasures.

This Needham home was in need of a stair runner for the safety of the family members and pet. They went with a dark leopard print that plays off the other details in the interiors. One other great aspect they love about this carpet was that it could withstand a lot of traffic, hide dirt and stains! #thecarpetworkroom

I was asked to update and design a new kitchen for my New Jersey client who has a home in Boca Raton. The project involved expanding the existing ranch and design a contemporary white kitchen. Below are the results of incorporating not only fine Italian cabinetry from a local Boca showroom but also a juxtaposition of textures and colors. Selecting the CeasarStone blue agate made the difference of a spectacular kitchen creating an artistic approach for the 14 ft island. The blue agate is imbedded within the white quarts counter. The wall cabinetry is a plethora of storage and so interesting with it's Post & Lintel dark wood frame design that plays with contrasts/ Shapes and textures abound with each interesting aspect like the irregular shaped back splash indispersed with mother of pearl mosaics. the client wanted a one of a kind chandelier and we designed it for her incorporating good functional and LED ambient lighting.

This design journey embraced vibrant colors and country-inspired aesthetics while ensuring a timeless and practical layout for a large family and their pets. The result is a lively yet enduringly stylish space that seamlessly blends modern rustic elements with unique details. From striking cabinetry to playful tile accents, every aspect was carefully crafted to refresh and enhance the heart of the home.

To play on the total low-maintenance aspect of this deck project in Huber Heights, we chose Key-Link’s Outlook aluminum railing. But this deck railing is not just low-maintenance and long-lasting, it is beautiful and offers clear views of the backyard, as well!

The mounted iPod touch panel controls every aspect of the home's integrated smart home system. Waterproof speakers in the shower play music from the home's multi-room audio system.

At Native Edge Landscape, we believe that outdoor spaces are canvases for artistic expression and harmonious design. In one of our recent projects, we had the opportunity to create a breathtaking pergola that seamlessly blended with the surrounding environment while showcasing the unique artful taste of our clients. Join us as we explore the captivating details of this design and the meticulous craftsmanship that went into creating a truly remarkable outdoor space.
The Pergola: A Perfect Fusion of Steel and Cedar
The focal point of this project is undoubtedly the large pergola, which we carefully constructed from steel C-channel and rough cedar purlins. The combination of these materials resulted in a striking aesthetic that effortlessly marries strength and natural beauty. The warm tones of each play off one another and come alive in the sunlight, while the alternating basketweave layout of the slats offer even more visual interest as well as variation in the provided shade. The design concept was carefully planned to ensure the purlins fit snugly into the channel, cleverly concealing any visible fasteners. This attention to detail adds to the sleek and streamlined appearance of the pergola, elevating its visual appeal and rustic elegance.
Working in Harmony with Nature
One of the most remarkable aspects of this project is how the pergola and the clam shell-colored Trex deck were thoughtfully designed to complement and highlight the existing large red oak tree. Rather than overshadowing or competing with its natural beauty, the design gracefully worked around the tree, creating a harmonious coexistence between human craftsmanship and nature's elegance.
Mid-Century Modern Charm with an Artful Twist
While the overall design of the space exudes mid-century modern aesthetics, what truly makes this project stand out is the clients' unique and artful taste. Their personal touch can be seen in the selection of decor, furniture, and subtle embellishments that add character and personality to the space. The result is a stunning blend of timeless design principles and the clients' individual artistic expression, creating a truly one-of-a-kind outdoor sanctuary.

This new build eco home in Bristol used a range of techniques and reclaimed materials in a pragmatic process aimed at maximising its ecological credentials whilst minimising its initial capital investment.
Aesthetically it took influence from the mismatched beauty of Bristol with a wealth of styles and era’s contradictorily played against each other to produce a juxtaposition of historic and contemporary. Its large front windows celebrate a view out over most of the city and tie it to the street scene which it fronts. It is not a house for those seeking privacy, its owners wanted to be part of the community. That said certain aspects were concealed to allow privacy where needed, the bedrooms are buried into the hillside both privatising and excluding road noise. The bathrooms and utility etc were tucked around a rising circulation core and a rear corridor given visual independence by being painted entirely yellow.
Externally a full landscaping design was prepared and implemented including over 6 flights of stairs and a number of terraces and planting banks to create the wealth of spaces maximising useable areas around the house.

A neutral colour palette was the main aspect of the brief setting the tone for a sophisticated and elegant home.
The carpet was chosen, as it can be used of stairs as well, which ensured continuity between the lower and upper floor. It is as soft as velvet underfoot, perfect for their young son to sit on the floor and play.

This private residence involved construction of a modern architectural style estate property in Highland Park, Texas. Dee Brown Inc’s role came into play late in the project, when corrections were needed to some specialty stonework.
The home’s center is formed around the main entry. The floorplan is largely open, but parallel core wall areas serve to define the foyer, kitchen, dining, and living areas. As key areas, the architect put special focus on materials selection for the core walls. It was decided that Indiana limestone would be the finish, and that the cladding panels would all have unique continuous horizontal grooves.
Material was received and installed by the original subcontractor. Upon seeing the completed work, it was evident to the architect and owner that grooves in the fabricated material were not consistent, and that the installation process had left numerous chips to the panels. It was at this point that the partially completed work was removed, and the second fabricator/installer was contacted.
Dee Brown Inc ordered the Indiana limestones slabs. There, special care was taken to hold tight tolerances to the horizontal grooves as well as to the typical cut-to-size aspects. Erection of these mechanically set panels was done very carefully. The result was a clean finished product with none of the tolerance and chipping issues of the original installation.
Dee Brown, Inc also created and installed special stone finishes at the adjacent half-bath. Semi-precious white onyx was transformed into a lavatory top/bowl assembly, water-closet wall cladding, and even tissue and towel holders.

Masculine and Feminine elements play off of each other with harmony and a relaxed beach style in this Los Angeles living room. Rustic masculine features like the farm bench table and the worn leather couch find balance in the room's lighter's aspects. Such as the fantastic custom French pleated and white banded grass shade window treatments by Jacoby company. Both custom treatments serve to lift up the darker tones and direct the focus outside to the beautiful garden and sky views. What more evidence do you need that great window treatments, not only balance out the meeting of multiple styles but also build the connection of outdoor to indoor space.
