The goal of this landscape design and build project was to mitigate run-off from a steep hillside as well as to beautify the front foundation planting at a condo complex in South Boston. This design features a traditional approach to the front walkway using a mix of evergreen and deciduous shrubs, an oramental weeping tree, and a mix of perennials. Along the slope, our approach was to utilize a mix of grasses to hold soil and also to create swathes of color during the Fall season. Designed and built by Skyline Landscapes, LLC.

The stems and pleated leaves of Doublefile Viburnum carry the flowers. In fall, the leaves turn a rusty burgundy color while the seed heads from the flowers turn red. Birds love 'em. Small textured evergreen azalea leaves provide a background for this deciduous beauty. © Cathy Carr, APLD

The house gallery hedge was adorned with Asparagus Aethiopicus; Schefflera arboricola 'Variegata'; Ixoras (varied colors: pink, yellow and white).
Design ideas for a mid-sized tropical full sun front yard stone garden path for summer.

Our owners were looking for a garden they could share with their large family. We created multiple seating areas including a firepit set in a gravel circle, surrounded by olive trees. The creamy gravel compliments the stone veneer on the firepit and BBQ. Container plants provide accents.

Butterflies and hummingbirds love Lantana. We love using sets of large ceramic pots to decorate the garden.
