Intentional. Elevated. Artisanal. With three children under the age of 5, our clients were starting to feel the confines of their Pacific Heights home when the expansive 1902 Italianate across the street went on the market. After learning the home had been recently remodeled, they jumped at the chance to purchase a move-in ready property. We worked with them to infuse the already refined, elegant living areas with subtle edginess and handcrafted details, and also helped them reimagine unused space to delight their little ones. Elevated furnishings on the main floor complement the home’s existing high ceilings, modern brass bannisters and extensive walnut cabinetry. In the living room, sumptuous emerald upholstery on a velvet side chair balances the deep wood tones of the existing baby grand. Minimally and intentionally accessorized, the room feels formal but still retains a sharp edge—on the walls moody portraiture gets irreverent with a bold paint stroke, and on the the etagere, jagged crystals and metallic sculpture feel rugged and unapologetic. Throughout the main floor handcrafted, textured notes are everywhere—a nubby jute rug underlies inviting sofas in the family room and a half-moon mirror in the living room mixes geometric lines with flax-colored fringe. On the home’s lower level, we repurposed an unused wine cellar into a well-stocked craft room, with a custom chalkboard, art-display area and thoughtful storage. In the adjoining space, we installed a custom climbing wall and filled the balance of the room with low sofas, plush area rugs, poufs and storage baskets, creating the perfect space for active play or a quiet reading session. The bold colors and playful attitudes apparent in these spaces are echoed upstairs in each of the children’s imaginative bedrooms. Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom. The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space. In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space.

A beautiful Mamaroneck Tudor with its original tiny kitchen was badly in need of renovating. The homeowners shifted and enlarged the rear of the house to create a peaceful space with earthy toned charcoal grey Oak base cabinets and shiny back painted white wall cabinetry. Six integrated gas burners from Netherland's Pitt Cooking were fitted into the island, with Gaggenau’s tappenyaki grille for a efficient and beautiful integrated cooking and serving area. The home office portion of the gift wrapping room uses the same white maple Wellborn cabinets connected by walnut countertops. The office space was originally set up so the lady of the house had a computer and printer for her craft projects, but the man of the house finds himself (and their dog!) spending a lot of time at this station because it's inviting and inspiring. Our St. Pete studio gave this beautiful traditional home a warm, welcoming ambience with bold accents and decor. Gray and white wallpaper perfectly frame the large windows in the living room, and the elegant furnishings add elegance and classiness to the space. The bedrooms are also styled with wallpaper that leaves a calm, soothing feel for instant relaxation. Fun prints and patterns add cheerfulness to the bedrooms, making them a private and personal space to hang out. The formal dining room has beautiful furnishings in bold blue accents and a striking chandelier to create a dazzling focal point. The vintage desk creates a compact space to do work. Timeless Palm Springs glamour meets modern in Pulp Design Studios' bathroom design created for the DXV Design Panel 2016. The design is one of four created by an elite group of celebrated designers for DXV's national ad campaign. Faced with the challenge of creating a beautiful space from nothing but an empty stage, Beth and Carolina paired mid-century touches with bursts of colors and organic patterns. The result is glamorous with touches of quirky fun -- the definition of splendid living.

This Kessler Park kitchen was reimagined with a bold mid-century inspired palette and around custom teal terrazzo countertops. Custom cabinetry in saturated greens, a sculptural backsplash, and terra cotta hex flooring create a rich, immersive cooking space. Designed for a client who wasn’t afraid of color—or personality.

Bold Striato Olimpo “Leather” floor tiles in a chic chevron pattern and Jeffrey Court Calcutta Mini Sticks as accent tile next to plain white porcelain squares create depth and texture without being visually overwhelming. The monochromatic palette is complemented by the Dunn Edwards Grey Owl on the walls and the natural light streaming in keeps this space bright and vibrant. The Hansgrohe “Puravi” tub faucet is a nod to super modern and contemporary design while the sliding door hints to a rustic inspiration. The Duravit oval tub gives this primary suite an element of coziness without sacrificing aesthetic. Clarified Studios

This classic Tudor home in Oakland was given a modern makeover with an interplay of soft and vibrant color, bold patterns, and sleek furniture.
