The other project continuing from the Geometric Built In utilizes the reclaimed Ash for sleek modern hand rails and ladders. The clean squared handrail sits on top clear coated flat bar steel all fastened to the wall with our designed steel rail brackets. Up to the landing you will see the integrated ladder which leads to a little nook designated as a music space! On the upper floor the steel and Ash wood design is carried into a second ladder designed for a top bunk of a kids sleeping nook. This recently built Bethesda home features two distinctive staircases that share a cohesive design language. The main staircase pairs natural wood treads with sleek steel horizontal rods, creating clean lines. The black wood newels and handrail create striking contrast with the lighter details. A custom spiral staircase echoes this aesthetic with jet-black metal triangular frames supporting natural wood treads. We took an old barn door from our Britton Collection and made this timeless piece of furniture. The door came from an 1890's barn where I grew up. The desk includes the organizer with drawer and the supply/business card holder. The supply holder was made from the tenon end of a mid-1800's hand hewn Texas beam. The chair, lamp and other accessories are not included. This modern, yet rustic, yet simple lined desk has an eccentric and classic quality. It's a beautiful piece of art and is $795.
