An original overhead soffit, tile countertops, fluorescent lights and oak cabinets were all removed to create a modern, spa-inspired master bathroom. Color inspiration came from the nearby ocean and was juxtaposed with a custom, expresso-stained vanity, white quartz countertops and new plumbing fixtures. Our clients wanted to renovate and update their guest bathroom to be more appealing to guests and their gatherings. We decided to go dark and moody with a hint of rustic and a touch of glam. We picked white calacatta quartz to add a point of contrast against the charcoal vertical mosaic backdrop. Gold accents and a custom solid walnut vanity cabinet designed by Buck Wimberly at ULAH Interiors + Design add warmth to this modern design. Wall sconces, chandelier, and round mirror are by Arteriors. Charcoal grasscloth wallpaper is by Schumacher.

This project is a whole home remodel that is being completed in 2 phases. The first phase included this bathroom remodel. The whole home will maintain the Mid Century styling. The cabinets are stained in Alder Wood. The countertop is Ceasarstone in Pure White. The shower features Kohler Purist Fixtures in Vibrant Modern Brushed Gold finish. The flooring is Large Hexagon Tile from Dal Tile. The decorative tile is Wayfair “Illica” ceramic. The lighting is Mid-Century pendent lights. This house is discreetly tucked into its wooded site in the Mad River Valley near the Sugarbush Resort in Vermont. The soaring roof lines complement the slope of the land and open up views though large windows to a meadow planted with native wildflowers. The house was built with natural materials of cedar shingles, fir beams and native stone walls. These materials are complemented with innovative touches including concrete floors, composite exterior wall panels and exposed steel beams.
