The bathroom upstairs acts as a main bath for the house - it was not only dated and ugly, it did not function for the home owner. Because of the sloped ceilings, the client had to duck her head when showering so a redesign of the layout was top priority. The small space was limiting but we managed to change the location of the other plumbing fixtures to gain space in the shower. The result is a beautiful, serene bathroom with a walk in shower, sculptural bathtub and custom vanity that suit’s the needs of the home owner perfectly.

This once dated and incredibly cut-up home got a custom remodel from floor to ceiling that changed ceilings and windows, knocked down walls, and moved rooms into other areas for an amazing light, bright, and open contemporary retreat.

These homeowners purchased this house for their retirement years. To make their retirement even more sweet, we took this confined and dated home and opened it up by raising and widening doorways, replacing carpet with hardwoods, and bringing more light through the whole space. To add detail and visual interest, 2-piece casing and paneling were added in the main hallway. The custom master bathroom includes inset cabinetry and a curved tub panel. All of these changes refreshed the property, creating a clean, contemporary, and welcoming space to fully enjoy retirement.

This is a great example of how a simple paint color change can make a significant improvement to the existing room. The kitchen felt dated with yellow walls and wallpaper with tired grey cabinetry. We carried the black/grey color scheme from the other rooms into this kitchen and refreshed it with bold black trims and doors with charcoal grey cabinetry and black hardware.

Master (Primary) bathroom renovation transformation! One of many transformation projects we have designed and executed for this lovely empty nesting couple.
For this space, we took a heavy, dated and uninspiring bathroom and turned it into one that is inspiring, soothing and highly functional. The general footprint of the bathroom did not change allowing the budget to stay contained and under control. The client is over the moon happy with their new bathroom.

The client’s request was quite common - a typical 2800 sf builder home with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, living space, and den. However, their desire was for this to be “anything but common.” The result is an innovative update on the production home for the modern era, and serves as a direct counterpoint to the neighborhood and its more conventional suburban housing stock, which focus views to the backyard and seeks to nullify the unique qualities and challenges of topography and the natural environment.
The Terraced House cautiously steps down the site’s steep topography, resulting in a more nuanced approach to site development than cutting and filling that is so common in the builder homes of the area. The compact house opens up in very focused views that capture the natural wooded setting, while masking the sounds and views of the directly adjacent roadway. The main living spaces face this major roadway, effectively flipping the typical orientation of a suburban home, and the main entrance pulls visitors up to the second floor and halfway through the site, providing a sense of procession and privacy absent in the typical suburban home.
Clad in a custom rain screen that reflects the wood of the surrounding landscape - while providing a glimpse into the interior tones that are used. The stepping “wood boxes” rest on a series of concrete walls that organize the site, retain the earth, and - in conjunction with the wood veneer panels - provide a subtle organic texture to the composition.
The interior spaces wrap around an interior knuckle that houses public zones and vertical circulation - allowing more private spaces to exist at the edges of the building. The windows get larger and more frequent as they ascend the building, culminating in the upstairs bedrooms that occupy the site like a tree house - giving views in all directions.
The Terraced House imports urban qualities to the suburban neighborhood and seeks to elevate the typical approach to production home construction, while being more in tune with modern family living patterns.

A complete gut job of this rancher home. Layout changed completely to have a true kitchen greatroom with fantastic indoor/outdoor space with folding eclipse doors. A old family home brought up to date in style
