Large family-friendly foyer with black painted front door and sliding wood farmhouse door. Wood look tile flooring with Sherwin Williams Pure White on the walls and Tricorn Black on the stair railing. The entryway opens up to the living room with Pure White walls and Cheating Heart on the fireplace built-ins. I'm a colour consultant and did the paint colours for this beautiful space.

Family Room got a neutral palette with a U-Shaped Sofa and oriental rug. Round Coffee table changes up all the hard corners and softens the space. The Custom Built unit unit has been painted Benjamin Moore Cheating Hearts and added a shiplap stained natural golden oak color. Tudor Paneling painted Chantily Lace white BM.

I had $80 left after I bought the bins, so I had enough money to buy 6 IKEA Kallax door inserts.
But as you can see, I actually needed 11 doors. Because I had cheated on the maximum size of the bins by having them stick out the back of the cabinets by 1 to 2 inches, I couldn't use the paperboard inserts that you're supposed to use to attach the doors.
So I too the inserts, cut them in half where they hinged to fold up, and screwed the inserts into the sides of the cabinets. Can you tell which ones are the "real" doors, and which are the flimsy paperboard doors? Me, neither!

Part mirage, part miracle - this masterful modern evocation is in the best Louisiana vernacular tradition. It was conceived by architect Kevin Gossen (Gossen Architects Lafayette, Louisiana) for an unusual piece of property in Metairie whose cheated landscape gives the illusion of open country spaces. He has created a “cottage” that already looks as if it might be a survivor from a couple of centuries ago.
Using reclaimed building materials, magnificent beams, beautiful old flooring with classically scaled rooms, it was a perfect project for Decorations Lucullus.
Both architect and interior designers admit the real magic rested with the client whose highly developed aesthetic and extensive experience in design gave the process amazing vitality.
Conceived as a “résidence secondaire” to be near grandchildren, she wanted something more snug than her large primary house out of town but without sacrificing the qualities of charm or elegance.
While the project is still evolving, she can’t repress a smile when some passer-by stops to chat over the rose-heavy iron fence, perhaps peering into the gracious side hall, asking how this old house has managed to survive all the changes in the neighborhood.

This design was about curating my client's art and antiques collection and updating the color palette. We painted the accent wall a stunning charcoal color called Cheating Heart by Benjamin Moore. We repaired and painted the shelf the same color. Then we restyled all of the decor on the shelf as well as the wall decor throughout the space. We added a lush majesty palm and a curly willow arrangement to bring height and texture to the area opposite the shelf.
