Well situated in Mont Royal, this split-level home had many positives apart from its dated interior, and layout of many small and inefficient rooms. This was all at odds with the owners’ lifestyle and aesthetic.
The client had architectural plans designed for a third floor addition that were to include a master bedroom and ensuite bathroom. The desired look for the entire house influenced all aspects of construction. Apart from the removal most walls on the main floor, everything was stripped back to the most simple and pure of finishing materials.
The existing floors were refinished in a smoked grey matte palette and offset the rich warm walnut accents in the kitchen and soft white walls.
With an abundance of white walls throughout, feature walls were essential in both the master bedroom and ensuite. The deep charcoal wall in the bedroom provides dramatic contrast to the teak headboard and hammered silver light fixture. The ensuite’s feature wall is made of pewter ceramic tiles that add texture and elegance to this simple space.
Materials and furnishings throughout were selected for their simplicity and form.

The client’s vision was to create a contemporary bathroom with custom touches to produce an earthy, relaxing aesthetic.
To create the look, custom timber cabinetry was specified, contrasted with matte black fittings and fixtures. Light and dark, large-format floor and wall tiles were also chosen reinforcing the contrasting effect.
The shower offers a modern touch featuring subway tiles in a herringbone pattern and a free-standing bath was installed by the large window for the ultimate indulgence.
The end result is a relaxing, modern yet refined space reflecting their style and complementing the rest of their home.

By relocating the narrow linen closet to the sitting room outside the bathroom, we expanded the shower and embraced the blue inspiration our client desired, using deep blue 2×8 glass shower wall tiles and a glass mosaic penny round tile on the shower floor and in the shower niche. On the opposite side of the spacious area, a knee wall was added to offer separation between the toilet and vanity. Framing the vanity is a stunning statement wallpaper, adding a vibrant pop of pattern.
Beyond aesthetics, this remodel expertly balances luxury and functionality, harmonizing contemporary fixtures and ambient lighting. This luxurious Primary Bathroom remodel redefines comfort and sophistication within a serene space, marking a remarkable journey from the mundane to the magnificent.

Our clients drastically needed to update this master suite from the original forest green floral wallpaper to something more clean and simple. They wanted to open up the dated cultured marble enclosed tub and shower and remove all soffits and plant ledges above the vanities. They wanted to explore the possibilities of opening up the shower with glass and look at installing a freestanding bathtub and they definitely wanted to keep the double sided fireplace but update the look of it.
First off, we did some minor changes to the bedroom. We replaced the carpet with a beautiful soft multi-color gray low pile carpet and painted the walls a soft white. The fireplace surround was replaced with Carrara 12×12 polished porcelain tile for a more elegant look. Finally, we tore out a corner built in desk and squared off and textured the wall, making it look as though it were never there.
We needed to strip this bathroom down and start from scratch. We demoed the cabinets, counter tops, all plumbing fixtures, ceiling fan, track lighting, tub and tub surround, fireplace surround, shower door, shower walls and ceiling above the shower, all flooring, soffits above vanity areas, saloon doors on the water closet and of course the wallpaper!
We changed the walls around the shower to pony walls with glass on the upper half, opening up the shower. The tile was lined with Premium Antasit 12×24 tile installed vertically in a 50/50 brick pattern. The shower floor and the floor below the tub is Solo River Grey Pebble mosaic tile. A contemporary Jaclo Collection shower system was installed including a contemporary handshower and square shower head. The large freestanding tub is a white Hydro Sytsems “Picasso” with “Steelnox” wall mounted tub filler and hardware from Graff.
All of the cabinets were replaced with Waypoint maple mocha glazed flat front doors and drawers. Quartzmasters Calacatta Grey countertops were installed with 2 Icera “Muse” undermount sinks for a clean modern look. The cabinet hardware the clients chose is ultra modern ”Sutton” from Hardware Resources and the faucet and other hardware is all from the Phylrich “Mix” collection.
Pulling it all together, Premium Antasit 12×14 installed floor tile was installed in a 50/50 brick pattern. The pebble tile that was installed in the shower floor was also installed in an oval shape under the bathtub for a great modern look and to break up the solid gray flooring.
Addison Oak Wood planks were installed vertically behind the bathtub, below the fireplace surround and behind the potty for a modern finished look. The fireplace was surrounded with Carrara 12×12 polished porcelain, as well as the wood planks. Finally, to add the finishing touches, Z-Lite brushed nickel vanity lights were installed above each vanity sink. The clients are so pleased to be able to enjoy and relax in their new contemporary bathroom!

The walls are covered in a linen paper which , along with the crunchy sisal carpet, adds texture and warmth.

This backyard landscape design is inspired by our Blu Grande Smooth patio slab. Perfect paving slab for modern poolsides and backyard design, Blu Grande Smooth is a large concrete patio stone available in multiple colors. It's smooth texture is sleek to the eye but rougher to the touch which avoids it from getting slippery when wet. The large rectangular shape works as an easy add-on into Blu 60 regular modular patterns but can also work as a stand-alone to create a very linear look. Check out the HD2 Blu Grande Smooth which is all about seamless looks with a tighter/poreless texture and anti-aging technology. This true mid-century modern home was ready to be revived. The home was built in 1959 and lost its character throughout the various remodels over the years. Our clients came to us trusting that with our help, they could love their home again. This design is full of clean lines, yet remains playful and organic. The first steps in the kitchen were removing the soffit above the previous cabinets and reworking the cabinet layout. They didn't have an island before and the hood was in the middle of the room. They gained so much storage in the same square footage of kitchen. We started by incorporating custom flat slab walnut cabinetry throughout the home. We lightened up the rooms with bright white countertops and gave the kitchen a 3-dimensional emerald green backsplash tile. In the hall bathroom, we chose a penny round floor tile, a terrazzo tile installed in a grid pattern from floor-to-ceiling behind the floating vanity. The hexagon mirror and asymmetrical pendant light are unforgettable. We finished it with a frameless glass panel in the shower and crisp, white tile. In the master bath, we chose a wall-mounted faucet, a full wall of glass tile which runs directly into the shower niche and a geometric floor tile. Our clients can't believe this is the same home and they feel so lucky to be able to enjoy it every day.

This contemporary powder room features a black chevron tile with gray grout, a live edge custom vanity top by Riverside Custom Cabinetry, vessel rectangular sink and wall mounted faucet. There is a mix of metals with the bath accessories and faucet in silver and the modern sconces (from Restoration Hardware) and mirror in brass.
