The new and expansive chef’s kitchen showcases custom cabinetry, a three-tiered curved African mahogany and walnut island with Pietra Gray stone top and a statement chandelier, an ode to the home’s art deco roots. Classic white subway backsplash and white Carrara marble countertops line the perimeter and nod to the style of the homeowner’s restaurants. And the real showstopper? A one-of-a-kind Blue Star 6-burner gas range with custom hot pink knobs.

This Modern colonial kitchen in Westchester County was built around a dining table to accomodate a large family. Handcrafted subway tiles were used as the backsplash and to frame the windows. Shaker style Brookhaven custom cabinets created the contemporary feel of the space.

Our Clients loved their home, their backyard and their neighborhood, but wanted a new feel to their 1960’s Colonial. So they asked us to give it a complete internal “facelift.” Now, elegant mahogany doors set the tone for the graceful Entrance Hall; the stunning renovated Kitchen is open to the Family Room; the expanded “back of the house” area between the Garage and Kitchen accommodates Laundry and Mud Rooms, a Walk-in Pantry, and Pool Shower Room and Closet. On the second floor, the Kids’ Bedrooms and Bathrooms are updated with new fixtures and finishes; and the reconfigured Master Suite fashions a sun-filled Master Bedroom with vaulted ceiling, a large Dressing Room, and beautiful Bathroom.
To our Clients’ delight, the internal “facelift” was a genuine transformation, and gave their home a fresh, new beginning.

This homeowner inspired of a French Colonial kitchen & master bath in his expansive new addition. We were able to incorporate his favorite design elements while staying within budget for a truly breathtaking finished product! The kitchen was designed using Starmark Cabinetry's Huntingford Maple door style finished in a tinted varnish color called Macadamia. The hardware used is from Berenson's Opus Collection in Rubbed Bronze.

Hidden microwave is concealed by a tip up pocket door. Not wasting precious countertop space in a smaller kitchen is important. The overall design was not compromised by a seldom used but, necessary appliance.

Residing in Philadelphia, it only seemed natural for a blue and white color scheme. The combination of Satin White and Colonial Blue creates instant drama in this refaced kitchen. Cambria countertop in Weybourne, include a waterfall side on the peninsula that elevate the design. An elegant backslash in a taupe ceramic adds a subtle backdrop.

Meal preparation & clean-up is a group activity for this family of 5, and full days are spent baking, cooking & canning together. They needed more functional storage and wished for a spacious and beautiful place to congregate and work seamlessly together. The peninsula and non-structural arch that divided the kitchen from the family room were removed in order to create a large open area. Also removed were the dated soffits which instantly created the feeling of higher ceilings and allowed a feature wall of beautiful encaustic tiles to run all the way up behind the custom plaster hood.
Turning and positioning the new island along the width of the window wall gave the family twice as much counter space and seating. The space that was once a hallway became the perfect place to position a dining table. The new 8' window washes the space in an abundance of inviting natural daylight, showcasing views to the greenbelt adjacent to their property. The hand distressed hickory cabinet run - custom designed to house a 5' Galley Workstation - has a furniture feel and its own distinctive hardware.
Classic patterned encaustic tiles and favorite colors were incorporated to reflect the family's preferences for a modern Spanish colonial feel. Wood grain porcelain tile floors make for easy cleanup for an active family with kids and dogs and a pool.

A young family moving from NYC tackled a makeover of their young colonial revival home to make it feel more personal. The kitchen area was quite spacious but needed a facelift and a banquette for breakfast. Painted cabinetry matched to Benjamin Moore’s Light Pewter is balanced by Benjamin Moore Ocean Floor on the island. Mixed metals on the lighting by Allied Maker, faucets and hardware and custom tile by Pratt and Larson make the space feel organic and personal. Photos Adam Macchia.
