When retired clients decided to combine their individual homes into a newly purchased one, they turned to us to help them combine their styles. Their love of midcentury modern and world travel were a perfect jumping off point. He traveled Asia and she traveled Europe. They both had collected art and souvenirs as well. The 1920s Tudor home they purchased had an open floor plan, except for the kitchen which we renovated into a kitchen/sunroom addition. The common design threads we used where midcentury furnishings, traditional antique rugs, and an eclectic art collection.

Starting from a blank canvas with a completely empty shell, the Gonyea Transformations team transformed this spacious garage into a sleek, luxurious personal retreat. The garage now boasts ample space for our client to showcase their cars, as well as entertain friends in the loft with a full bar and lounge. Some stunning details include a beautiful cable railing that leads to the loft, a walnut accent wall that adds additional architectural interest and works as a privacy barrier and entertainment center, and a notable bar with diamond plate details, thoughtful lighting, and the clients’ own “Lamborghini” sign to create a cohesive look within the whole garage condo. It also provides a unique community for people who share a passion for motorsports—or anything that has an engine—with hosted events throughout the year. With a variety of garage sizes within the AutoMotorPlex, the garage condos have one thing in common, they start out as empty shells, waiting for new owners to envision a space to showcase their prized possessions and entertain family, friends, and clients.

Our clients came to us with dreams of hosting large family gatherings surrounded by a welcoming yet elegant Farmhouse setting. Their wish list included natural woods and traditional Georgian details to infuse warmth and character into their home. Awkward room sizes and locations in the original plan were completely reconfigured to create functional, individual spaces with open entrances that maintained interconnectivity. With young children, visibility into common spaces was important as well. After fully reconfiguring the main floor, the complete transformation was achieved by an uncompromising dedication to the beauty of thoughtful details. Bronze hardware, rustic decorative wood beams, arched entrances, and the wood/brick surround fireplace also contribute to the comfortable, traditional atmosphere. The interplay of various wood tones was also a primary consideration in the design. Paired with a unique grey/blue color throughout, the warmth and friendliness of the clients truly came to life in their home.

Through a partnership between the architecture firm, Chapman Design Group, Inc. and it’s construction arm, Icon Construction of South Carolina, Inc., special emphasis is placed on quality construction, methods and design details a well as a stringent construction quality control standard. The total efforts, skills, resources provide unyielding commitment directed toward building superior homes that will bring our homeowners many years of comfortable and carefree living. This 107 home community was created on a 43 acre property that was planned into two phases. This became a positive selling point as it encouraged the selection of building sites deeper into the development once you passed the lake. • The design concept of the development was to create a variation of the traditional home neighborhood where the homes, all with front porches are intentionally built closer to the sidewalk lined streets to encourage neighborly interaction. • Plans were designed with the garages at the rear of the lot as to make the neighborhood less about cars and more about the home and it’s residents. This was prioritized due to many subdivisions today are designed in such a way the home’s primary feature is a front facing garage which often have two cars in the driveway… hence, Stonebridge at Rankin’s Lake want to provide an alternative. • Each home design includes a spacious front porch, a screened porch and or a sunroom to encourage neighborly interaction and casual living. • The floor plans include both 2 and 3 bedroom plans with 2 to 3.5 baths with all master suites remaining on the main level. At RCID, we don’t typically take on commercial projects—but when a returning client invited us to reimagine the lobby of their condo building at 225 25th Ave SW in Calgary, we couldn’t resist the opportunity. In collaboration with Crafted Edge Homes, we set out to bring a warmer, more residential feel to the common spaces of Riverscape, transforming them into areas that welcome residents home. The lobby received a complete refresh, including new tile, paint, vertical wood slats at the entry, upgraded signage, and a custom staircase feature that adds both visual interest and flow. Every floor above was painted using a unique technique to subtly draw attention to individual doors, giving each level its own personality while maintaining cohesion throughout the building.

The Quarry Mill's Ellsworth natural stone veneer complements the stainless steel appliances in this stunning outdoor kitchen. Ellsworth natural stone veneer is a beautifully neutral New England granite. The stone has deep rich tones with subtle natural weathering. Having been split with a hydraulic press this thin stone veneer has a rough texture. Ellsworth has predominantly grey tones with some gold and tan. The stone is castle rock style and characterized by the large rectangular pieces of stone. This style is also referred to as square-rectangular or square-rec for short. The individual pieces can range from 4″-12″ in height. The castle rock style is most commonly found on large scale exterior projects and is almost always installed with a mortar joint between the pieces of stone.

Completely remodeled the inside of the traditional church to make it more modern by closing in the stained glass windows with plaster and paint; revamping the stage to make more room for the musicians; adding sound absorbing panels, new sound equipment, high tech color changing LED lighting and fixtures witch include spot lights, rope lighting along the side wall sconces and large hanging pendants; new carpet in the main area and tile floors in the vestibule/common area were installed and the pews were replaced with comfortable and sound absorbing individual interlocking chairs.

Appleton natural thin stone veneer from the Quarry Mill adds color and texture variation to the exterior of this beautiful home. Appleton thin stone veneer is cut from natural Wisconsin granite. The raw stone was deposited years ago as glaciers moved through the state. The stone is unearthed as large boulders the size of a suv and is then broken down via our splitting and sawing processes to make the finished thin veneer. Appleton has shades of soft red, off white, greys and blues. The stone is considered a fieldledge style with its mix of linear type stone blended with mosaic irregular pieces. Appleton is a versatile stone and fits well on both large and small projects. The stone is shown with a standard half-inch grey raked mortar joint between the individual pieces. SV Design made sure there were spaces where individual family members can pursue their own interests: a dedicated craft space, a family office, and a kids’ loft area. The redesign was forward thinking, to take the family into future phases in life, from the current teenage years through college years, and into the beyond of expanded family possibilities.

Custom real-wood plantation shutters with sunburst arch tops, built for a Port St. Lucie home where the arched windows had defeated every previous attempt at a window treatment. This is the most common problem we get called about. Arched and eyebrow windows don't take a standard blind, shade or curtain — the top either gets left bare, gets covered with a flat panel that ignores the shape, or the homeowner gives up and installs something rectangular that fights the architecture. This homeowner had been looking for a long time before finding us. The solution is a fixed sunburst arch: louvers cut individually at radiating angles, fanning out from a solid hub at the base of the curve. Every louver is a different length and a different angle, so the arch has to be templated from the actual opening and cut to that template — there is no stock version of this. Below the arch, 6 two-panel shutters in 3½ louvers with traditional tilt rods and a divider rail, so the lower half can close for privacy while the upper half stays open for light. Finished in SW White, with rosette corner blocks where the arch meets the verticals to tie the frame into the existing millwork. We could build it because we manufacture. The arch was templated on site, cut, assembled, finished and installed by our own team out of our Palm City factory. A company that orders shutters from a catalogue can't quote this window, which is why most of them don't.
