On this project, our aim was to maximize storage and organization in the pantry for this family of five. This family previously had the common complaint that their pantry was always message and that they could never find what they wanted. To address this, we created provided a large amount of shelving, including key sections that slide out to provide better access to the items in the back. White melamine was used to mange cost and create a clean look.

This outdated, dark, and inaccessible master bathroom remodel had two very distinct design features that needed to be met for our clients. The first being completely ADA compliant, and second to introduce coastal flair, to remanence on their time spent by the water.

Martin King Photography -- This kitchen was reconfigured and brought current with all of the modern appliances and finishes. At the same time it is within keeping of the Tudor style of the home architecture. This kitchen won the ASID Platinum Award for the Best Kitchen Design in 2009.

A common complaint from by clients is that their old kitchens are too isolated, so you end up with a lonely cook, or too many people in the kitchen visiting when the cooking needs to be done. The solution is simple—knock out some wall and create a living space which is integrated with the adjacent rooms, making the kitchen the center—or “heart”—of the home.

Magnolia - Carlsbad, CA - 3,212 SF + 4BD + 3.5 BA
Architectural Style: Modern Farmhouse
Magnolia is a significant transformation of the owner's childhood home. Features like the steep 12:12 metal roofs softening to 3:12 pitches; soft arch shaped doug fir beams; custom designed double gable brackets; exaggerated beam extensions; a detached arched/ louvered carport marching along the front of the home; an expansive rear deck with beefy brick bases with quad columns, large protruding arched beams; an arched louvered structure centered on an outdoor fireplace; cased out openings and detailed trim work throughout the home; and many other architectural features have created a unique and elegant home along Highland Ave. in Carlsbad, California.

This dark, claustrophobic kitchen was transformed into an open, vibrant space where the homeowner could showcase her original artwork while enjoying a fluid and well-designed space. Custom cabinetry materials include gray-washed white oak to compliment the new flooring, along with white gloss uppers and tall, bright blue cabinets. Details include a chef-style sink, quartz counters, motorized assist for heavy drawers and various cabinetry organizers. Jewelry-like artisan pulls are repeated throughout to bring it all together. The leather cabinet finish on the wet bar and display area is one of our favorite custom details. The coat closet was ‘concealed' by installing concealed hinges, touch-latch hardware, and painting it the color of the walls. Next to it, at the stair ledge, a recessed cubby was installed to utilize the otherwise unused space and create extra kitchen storage.
The condo association had very strict guidelines stating no work could be done outside the hours of 9am-4:30pm, and no work on weekends or holidays. The elevator was required to be fully padded before transporting materials, and floor coverings needed to be placed in the hallways every morning and removed every afternoon. The condo association needed to be notified at least 5 days in advance if there was going to be loud noises due to construction. Work trucks were not allowed in the parking structure, and the city issued only two parking permits for on-street parking. These guidelines required detailed planning and execution in order to complete the project on schedule. Kraft took on all these challenges with ease and respect, completing the project complaint-free!

The Galley Workstation is more of an appliance than a sink. This kitchen features a 3' version and their only complaint is that they didn't go for the 4'. Sizes range from 2'-7' and come with a variety of accessories that allow you to use this hole in your countertop for a lot more than just washing dishes!

SupraTile 4.5mm diamond Pattern Black/Grays -- "I was a little hesitant when ordering because my total order was about $1,000 and I had no previous experience either with installation or owning any such product before. I have to say, it was worth every penny. Installation was very easy. The pieces to together with a light tapping of a hammer and cuts were very easy using a relatively cheap $10 pair of tin snips from Home Depot. I have had it in my garage for about a month now and the tiles appear to be very durable and waterproof (condensation from my car A/C just sits on top of the tile). Really no complaints at all. If I had to list a downside, it would be that because the tile does expand in the heat, the hottest summer days make some of the tiles a bit floppy but it goes away when the sun goes down and they contract again a bit. Because of this, you don't want to run them right up against the walls of your garage when doing the installation. I was able to find a matching concrete paint and painted a very small bit of the concrete at the edges of the tile and up the wall for a more finished appearance."

On your left upon entering is the sizeable and spacious walk-in closet, complete with adjustable shelves and cozy window bench. Polished chrome grab bars are strategically placed throughout the bathroom, an ADA height compliant toilet and custom height linen cabinet made mobility accessibility a key component for this project, yet no beauty was sacrificed to make this happen. This bathroom and closet are now the perfect pairing of both our clients’ desires in one charming sea blown setting.
