Both the seat and back are upholstered with a super flexible layer of pre-compressed fiberfill which optimizes sitting comfort and gives a soft, rounded look. You can easily purchase movable neckroll pillows and large down pillows, 55 x 65 cm, so Baseline invites even more relaxed enjoyment. The 25 cm broad armrest gives a balanced finish and also lifts the sofa which seems to float freely in the air on its legs of black-stained wood that are only a few centimetres high.
You can choose your cover from Eilersen's large fabric collection. The cover is removable and fitted with velcro so you can easily take it off and clean it (follow the care and maintenance instructions of the fabric). Under the cover, the sofa is further protected by a base cover in 100% cotton.

Domus Constructors, LLC.“Compelling.” That’s how one of our judges characterized this stair, which manages to embody both reassuring solidity and airy weightlessness. Architect Mahdad Saniee specified beefy maple treads—each laminated from two boards, to resist twisting and cupping—and supported them at the wall with hidden steel hangers. “We wanted to make them look like they are floating,” he says, “so they sit away from the wall by about half an inch.” The stainless steel rods that seem to pierce the treads’ opposite ends are, in fact, joined by threaded couplings hidden within the thickness of the wood. The result is an assembly whose stiffness underfoot defies expectation, Saniee says. “It feels very solid, much more solid than average stairs.” With the rods working in tension from above and compression below, “it’s very hard for those pieces of wood to move.”
The interplay of wood and steel makes abstract reference to a Steinway concert grand, Saniee notes. “It’s taking elements of a piano and playing with them.” A gently curved soffit in the ceiling reinforces the visual rhyme. The jury admired the effect but was equally impressed with the technical acumen required to achieve it. “The rhythm established by the vertical rods sets up a rigorous discipline that works with the intricacies of stair dimensions,” observed one judge. “That’s really hard to do.”

Albert, Righter & Tittmann Architects, Inc.Modern Farmhouse is a contemporary take on a tradition building type, the Connecticut farmhouse. Our clients were interested in a house that fit in with the landscape while providing plenty of daylight with views to the surrounding property. The design uses simple gables arranged in a picturesque manner. It balances clean modern lines, traditional forms, and rustic textures. The new house is bright and light while also feeling personal and unique.
There was interest early on to compress the construction time and to design a building that would not take a lot of energy to run. To achieve these goals, the design of the main house used modular construction and a high performance envelope. To articulate the surfaces of the spaces, the owner assembled a group of designers and artisans. Natural textures and tones were layered over the volumes to give a sense of place and time. The modular units of the house are produced by Huntington Homes in East Montpelier, Vermont.
In addition to the main house, there is a pool house that sits symmetrically on the main axis of a long swimming pool. A glass enclosed living room fits between two concrete volumes that house a bathroom and storage spaces. An outdoor shower faces south, with an oculus that lets light in when the door is closed. The simple forms of the pool house sit below a green roof, which protects the glassy room from the summer sun and integrates the building into the hilly landscape.

RG Cowan Design BuildThis house was designed to maintain clean sustainability and durability. Minimal, simple, modern design techniques were implemented to create an open floor plan with natural light. The entry of the home, clad in wood, was created as a transitional space between the exterior and the living spaces by creating a feeling of compression before entering into the voluminous, light filled, living area. The large volume, tall windows and natural light of the living area allows for light and views to the exterior in all directions. This project also considered our clients' need for storage and love for travel by creating storage space for an Airstream camper in the oversized 2 car garage at the back of the property. As in all of our homes, we designed and built this project with increased energy efficiency standards in mind. Our standards begin below grade by designing our foundations with insulated concrete forms (ICF) for all of our exterior foundation walls, providing the below grade walls with an R value of 23. As a standard, we also install a passive radon system and a heat recovery ventilator to efficiently mitigate the indoor air quality within all of the homes we build.

Mapos Architects DPCA doctor in Dallas hired Mapos to design his dream home in the upscale neighborhood of Bluffview that would serve as both a haven from his hectic days at the hospital and a space to support his active outdoor lifestyle. Mapos was tasked with designing a modern home that would function as a definitive counterpoint to the new, yet traditional McMansions on adjacent properties.
The client emphasized the necessity of informal living and dining areas for entertaining, spacious bedrooms, a home office, and plentiful storage space for his outdoor gear and automobiles. He also requested an outdoor pool, hot tub, and lush landscape to isolate the property and establish a sense of privacy.
The two-story interior was designed as an open volume with the second floor inserted into a larger box, creating a dramatic interplay of double-height and compressed spaces on the lower level. For the exterior, Mapos composed the house out of four flat-roofed volumes, assembled to create welcoming front and rear outdoor spaces, intimate landscaped side gardens, and visual protection from the neighbors. The forms and proportions combined contain a rich assembly of indoor and outdoor spaces that will serve the client for years to come.

Adam Gibson DesignSeems like the ‘80s weren’t all that long ago. Reminiscing about music from the period harkens me back to all kinds of good feelings. The era’s kitchen and bath design, however, causes me to repress a bit of vomit. The lack of creativity, coupled with a love of beige and cheap brass, still makes my skin crawl. Some builder must have purchased entire container ships of that tile. Enter this bath. The homeowners did their best to add color, but nothing could hide the elements so popular in the day.
In attempting to provide something outside the norm (the shower tower), yet warm and inviting, (curved half-wall behind the curved freestanding tub; compressed ceilings above smaller items), and safe (large, curbless shower with door wide enough for future wheelchair), I endeavored to create a bath that would stand time’s test. It didn’t hurt that the clients, second-timers (see Modern Walnut Kitchen and Great Room) and a delight to work with, had strong opinions. The photos will be retaken soon (we didn’t stage the shoot), but they give an idea of the space.

Luce Spaces LLCToros Black marble is defined by its dense, near-obsidian ground and the sharp tectonic contrast of white veining that forms across millions of years of geological compression, qualities that a high-gloss polished finish renders with precise optical clarity on this natural stone wall-mount sink. The rectangular basin is hand-carved with a continuous fluted apron across the front and side faces, while one corner retains a partially filled chiseled rock edge — a deliberate juxtaposition of geometric discipline and raw geological surface that gives the piece its architectural tension.
