When the clients first contacted us about their 1926 home, they stated "We want to make better use of the space and open it up a little. This seems right up your alley." That's right...we live on that alley, we love that alley!
Terah Beth designed a few schemes ranging from leaving all walls in place... to removing all walls that separated the dining, living, and the back nook from the kitchen. The clients decided to go big and knock 'em all down! This 'open concept' scheme created an airy and zen-like space filled with beautiful custom cabinetry with walnut accents including a huge peninsula countertop, floating shelves and range hood accent band. The walnut was sourced from a local fallen tree and crafted by a local artisan. So Crafty!

Jacqueline is a Haute Culture creation, a place without limits, where culture and experimentation merge into a single essence, becoming the focus of a continuous exploration of boundless worlds, giving rise to exclusive creations.
The Jacqueline collection is the first and only to be created in real bamboo. One of the foremost values of Haute Culture is its inherent uniqueness: just like a tailored outfit, every Gessi collection stands out for its unmistakeable originality. Similarly, as the creation of a haute couture garment involves meticulous steps, each mixer in the Jacqueline collection undergoes a comparable handmade process, making them unique and incompatible with mass production.
Jacqueline represents the perfect encounter between the excellence of Italian haute couture and the finest craftsmanship. Inspired by the timeless appeal of style icons, Jacqueline reinterprets the concept of exclusive tailoring with a design that stands out for its timeless elegance and refinement, bringing bamboo into the bathroom for the first time. Each element of the collection is born from a sartorial process, designed to harmoniously adapt to the personality of those who choose it, like a haute couture garment.
Material innovation is at the heart of Jacqueline where bamboo represents a deep connection with nature. The roots, hand-selected, are processed to create organic shapes that make each element unique. Gessi has reinterpreted tradition through a patented process that combines bamboo with metal, resulting in exclusive, cutting-edge solutions including the Matte Black finish, which gives the collection a contemporary and sophisticated effect.

DreamDesign®25, Springmoor House, is a modern rustic farmhouse and courtyard-style home. A semi-detached guest suite (which can also be used as a studio, office, pool house or other function) with separate entrance is the front of the house adjacent to a gated entry. In the courtyard, a pool and spa create a private retreat. The main house is approximately 2500 SF and includes four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The design centerpiece is the two-story great room with asymmetrical stone fireplace and wrap-around staircase and balcony. A modern open-concept kitchen with large island and Thermador appliances is open to both great and dining rooms. The first-floor master suite is serene and modern with vaulted ceilings, floating vanity and open shower.

With stunning views of the Annisquam River, this beautiful first period home was constructed in 1690 for Nathanial Harraden, sailing master of the USS Constitution. It is believed to be the oldest remaining house in this neighborhood of Gloucester. Our extensive historic restoration preserved the integrity and historic details of the original structure, which had been altered significantly over time. Deteriorated structural elements were repaired or rebuilt, and historic elements including beams were revealed. A bright new kitchen and bathrooms provide a functional layout suited for modern living, and use authentic natural materials that will patina and weather in harmony with the rest of the home. The new island counter was hewn from a large decaying tree on the site, and hand-painted marble tiles adorn the backsplash. New cabinetry was hand-crafted using methods authentic to the time. We preserved the kitchen’s existing brick floor, which originally provided a durable surface for milking animals inside during cold winter months. Using authentic materials and craftsmanship of the era, this special house celebrates its historic character and embraces modern updates that will welcome home generations to come.

This mixed use building in the West Village was purchased by a California couple as an investment with the vision to remove the office cubicals occupying the first floor and cellar, converting the square footage to a duplex home for themselves that enabled them to be bicoastal. The design of the first floor is a modern open concept where areas devoted to dining, cooking and living are all merged in the front of the street level space. To give this area privacy LED film was installed over the large street facing window that can be activated to block all view while still letting in light. The bedroom is in the more private rear of the space overlooking a small courtyard and is separated from the front space by the units bathroom. In the bedroom a folding glass wall can be opened completely to fully connect the space with the outdoor courtyard. This connection with the outdoor space continues in the adjacent bathroom with a floor to ceiling window located inside the shower. The bathroom has a unique open plan design. A huge rain shower head hovers over a large unenclosed shower that is separated from the main circulation space to the bedroom by a mother of pearl clad partition. The partition features a bench inside the shower and a custom oak vanity on the opposite side. The space in the cellar was fully finished to act as an overflow space for recreation and for guests visits. The overall space has a minimal aesthetic warmed up with the selection of finishes such as wide plank oak flooring, oak cabinetry, mother of pearl mosaic tile and playful touches such as neon lighting in the cellar.

This stunning 2-story Traditional home plan showcases timeless brick architecture and a welcoming layout designed for modern living. Featuring 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and 3,565 heated sq. ft., the design blends classic curb appeal with versatile functionality. A first-floor Owner’s Suite, vaulted and tray ceilings, and an open-concept flow between the great room, kitchen, and dining areas make this plan ideal for families and entertainers alike. Outdoor living is just as inviting, with covered front and rear porches plus a grilling patio for gatherings. Included CAD blueprints ensure customization is easy, giving you the flexibility to make this Nashville home truly your own.

This first floor remodel included the kitchen, powder room, mudroom, laundry room, living room and office. The bright, white kitchen is accented by gray-blue island with seating for four. We removed the wall between the kitchen and dining room to create an open floor plan. A special feature is the custom-made cherry desk and white built in shelving we created in the office. We tore down the walls between four rooms to create this great room in Villanova, PA. And what a difference it makes! This bright space is perfect for everyday living and entertaining family and friends as the kitchen, eating and living areas flow seamlessly. With red oak flooring throughout, we used white and light gray materials and crown moulding to give this large space a cohesive yet open feel. We added wainscoting to the steel post columns. Other projects in this house included installing red oak flooring throughout the first floor, refinishing the main staircase, building new stairs into the basement, installing new basement flooring and opening the basement rooms to create another entertainment area.

We were thrilled to be working again with these long-time clients in Villanova, PA, to create a two-room wine cellar. This entailed renovating an existing part of their basement and adding an additional room. The best part about this project? The second room is accessed through a secret door! We designed the mechanism that opens the secret door:the door is opened by pressing the cork of a certain wine bottle.
This 8,000-bottle capacity wine cellar features all redwood custom-built shelving, and redwood, glass top display tables. The first room has a redwood paneled ceiling and porcelain tile floors. The second room's ceiling is made from reclaimed wine barrels and the beams are made from cherry wood. The floors are reclaimed brick laid in a two-over-two pattern.

From retro and modern to classic, “cottage,” and urban chic, Palmisano takes readers on a sumptuous visual journey featuring unique salvage ideas in an eclectic array of styles, for every room in the house—kitchens and dining rooms, bedrooms and bathrooms, living rooms and dens, and entryways and outdoor areas.
The journey continues with a sampling of cutting-edge retail spaces, hotels, cafes, and boutiques across the country that incorporate salvage into their designs, such as Industrie Denim in San Francisco, Stowe Mountain Lodge in Stowe, Vermont, and Rejuvenation in Portland. Profiles of thirteen “salvage success stories” are also included, showcasing the imaginative designs of creative homeowners. And lastly, fourteen easy, do-it-yourself projects are included at the back of the book (with step-by-step instructions), not to mention a comprehensive “Where to Find Salvage” resource section.
