A gallery wall featuring rows of carefully installed personal and family photos line the petite hallway that leads to the master suite. Our client requested a crisp black and white bedroom so Ashley used a wide variety of materials to give the room warmth through material instead of color. Ashley also once again brought in a textured white rug to work as a focal point and to make the room appear as large as possible. She kept furnishings timeless and pared back but full of strength thanks to their moody matte gray tones and symmetrical setup. A single armed sturdy clothing rack was also brought in to help our client better prepare for the day ahead every morning.

Modernism and traditionalism are just steps away from each other at this Vienna Virginia pool house. The main house, built by a national homebuilder, draws upon tradition, but the pool house, speaks the language of contemporary minimalism. It presents clean lines and a soaring roofline overhanging tall glass doors and clerestory windows. Great design, careful attention to detail, first-rate materials and impeccable craftsmanship have yielded a spectacular solution for outdoor entertaining. Converted tool shed into a home office/tack room combination on equestrian estate. Perfect for art studio, yoga studio, reading or craft room with view of the horses. Reclaimed brick deck complete with porch swing, and rocking chair just outside to enjoy after the trail ride.

Client wanted to convert the back section of the property into "livable" living space by pouring an easy to clean concrete slab and a shade structure. The storage shed to the left was built to mimic the existing storage shed to the right. Finesse, Inc. refinished the existing storage shed. We added electrical for lighting and receptacles to the area. The timber is a Rough Sawn Douglas Fir draws the solid colored stain deeper into the wood giving it a nice sealed finish. The glass walls, window placement, large overhangs, sunshade and concrete floors are designed to take advantage of passive solar heating and cooling, while the masonry thermal mass heats and cools the home at night.

Mid-century duplex converted to contemporary single family home. Taking advantage of open sky and treetops in the park bordering the property in the rear, and shielding the side walls from multi-family units on either side, the floor plan focused all the views to rear and front. A butterfly roof profile allowed clerestory windows to bring light into the interiors.

Converted from an existing Tuff Shed garage, the Beech Haus ADU welcomes short stay guests in the heart of the bustling Williams Corridor neighborhood. Natural light dominates this self-contained unit, with windows on all sides, yet maintains privacy from the primary unit. Double pocket doors between the Living and Bedroom areas offer spatial flexibility to accommodate a variety of guests and preferences. And the open vaulted ceiling makes the space feel airy and interconnected, with a playful nod to its origin as a truss-framed garage. A play on the words Beach House, we approached this space as if it were a cottage on the coast. Durable and functional, with simplicity of form, this home away from home is cozied with curated treasures and accents. We like to personify it as a vacationer: breezy, lively, and carefree.
