Building a home for this dynamic family was a true joy! Cook Construction was brought on to fix the mistakes of two previous GC’s and get them out of the extremely frustrating situation they found themselves in. Although a delicate and daunting task to take on the homeowner alone made the entire process worth it.
This full scale, four-story, re-build home boasts it all; bold, contemporary, interior design from San Francisco’s finest, radiant heat throughout, high lacquer paint finishes, custom iron railings spanning all floors of the open staircase and a finished attic with 360 views to create the ultimate getaway/workspace.

Natural elements feature oblong slate flooring and stacked stone for the backsplash. The updated appliances in this kitchen remodel now satisfy the chef’s cooking desires and the family’s palette. A high-end 36” six-burner Thermador range and vent hood allow for greater creative cooking for the family of this North Richland Hills home.

Open concept kitchen - mid-sized contemporary galley open concept kitchen idea in Miami with a single-bowl sink, flat-panel cabinets, white cabinets, quartz countertops, gray backsplash, stone tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances and a peninsula

At the center of this home, the kitchen isn’t just a place to cook—it’s where the family comes together. Designed with an open-concept layout, it flows effortlessly into the surrounding spaces, making it as inviting as it is functional. Since the homeowners are passionate about cooking, we prioritized thoughtful details, like a waterfall edge at the end of the island closest to the range to make meal prep an easy clean up. The oversized island acts as both a workspace and a gathering spot, providing ample room for everything. To enhance its overall impact, we selected an Orca stone for its continuous pattern and installed it with a book-matched pattern, ensuring a flawless, uninterrupted look across this showstopping centerpiece.

Avid cooks and entertainers purchased this 1925 Tudor home that had only been partially renovated in the 80's. Cooking is a very important part of this hobby chef's life and so we really had to make the best use of space and storage in this kitchen. Modernizing while achieving maximum functionality, and opening up to the family room were all on the "must" list, and a custom banquette and large island helps for parties and large entertaining gatherings.
Cabinets are from Cabico, their Elmwood series in both white paint, and walnut in a natural stained finish. Stainless steel counters wrap the perimeter, while Caesarstone quartz is used on the island. The seated part of the island is walnut to match the cabinetry. The backsplash is a mosaic from Marble Systems. The shelving unit on the wall is custom built to utilize the small wall space and get additional open storage for everyday items.
A 3 foot Galley sink is the main focus of the island, and acts as a workhorse prep and cooking space. This is aired with a faucet from Waterstone, with a matching at the prep sink on the exterior wall and a potfiller over the Dacor Range. Built-in Subzero Refrigerator and Freezer columns provide plenty of fresh food storage options. In the prep area along the exterior wall, a built in ice maker, microwave drawer, warming drawer, and additional/secondary dishwasher drawer helps the second cook during larger party prep.

With our Cascade model we aim to use cost effective material from local suppliers. This kitchen was built locally by Signature Kitchen builders. Sam at Bestway Laminates installed the counters throughout the cottage.

Special Features of New Island:
• Custom wine storage cabinet for display with functioning drawer above for openers & gizmos
• Deep drawers in island for pots & pans storage
• Shallow cabinets in island for cooking oils, large spice containers & seasonings
By completely reconfiguring the space, relocating appliances and adding an island, this kitchen now has more work surface and lots of storage for cooking utensils, spices, specialty oils & even an area to display some of their wine collection. With leathered stone countertops, a custom wine cabinet and all LED lighting, this contemporary kitchen now lends itself to multiple cooks and, most importantly, my clients love their new kitchen!
As serious wine collectors, they felt it would be nice to have an area to display and store a few select bottles of wine, although most of the collection is stored elsewhere. While it is usually just the two of them, they enjoy entertaining and have children and family come to visit quite a bit, so space to move about was important. Their style leans toward contemporary, nothing fussy & with very clean lines—they prefer a linear, symmetrical look so the stylized Shaker cabinets were ideal. They prefer natural surfaces, therefore the leathered granite countertops & hardwood flooring were a perfect fit. This kitchen gets great sunlight during the day but was in dire need of light at night. New LED cans for general lighting, pendant lighting over the island as well as under cabinet lighting is all dimmable so they can adjust the brightness.

The owner of this full kitchen remodel wanted to incorporate the kitchen into the social environment of the living room. In order to do this, the bar seating was kept at the kitchen counter height to place an emphasis on the inclusiveness of those enjoying the fire and those cooking in the kitchen. They added a decorative wood hood over the range (insert oven/stove name) from Vail Cabinets to coordinate with the newly cream color painted cabinetry to brighten up the cooking area.

Family meals or Sunday brunch for a crowd -- make cooking convenient with the perfect mix of storage and open shelving.
