I have the pleasure of working with Val Mina, an amazing interior designer. With each project, I see her clients so pleased with her work. First and foremost, what sets her apart is her remarkable ability to truly listen to her clients. She took the time to understand not only their design preferences but also their needs and budget constraints. This level of consideration is so appreciated by clients. It's rare to find a designer who is as attentive to their clients as she is. What truly impressed me was her intuitive and innovative approach to design. She has a knack for thinking outside the box and coming up with creative solutions that I would have never thought of. Her designs are not just aesthetically pleasing; they are also highly functional and practical. Her expertise in maximizing storage space is especially commendable. Her keen eye for color and her ability to create a harmonious color palette was another standout feature. The way she played with colors is truly remarkable. Furthermore, her friendly demeanor and professionalism make her an absolute pleasure to work with. She makes the entire design process feel like a collaboration, and her communication skills are top-notch. In summary, working with this interior designer is always a pleasure. Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for Val's gifted eye in design! Our new Primary Bathroom is truly exceptional and invokes a calming peace to anyone walking into the space. Val was able to deftly unify our desires for a myriad of colors, textures and finishes to create a dramatic room beyond our wildest dreams. While it is difficult for my husband and I to meld our very different strong ideas, Val made the task painless and satisfying for everyone. From our first meeting with Val, we were struck by the clear and open communication which continued throughout the project. Her particular attention to details that we hadn't even considered ensured that everything in the room was purposefully designed. We appreciated her industry knowledge, which created innovative solutions that made the final product so appealing. Starting with a sterile all-white tiled room with mirrors on every wall, Val transformed our space into a gorgeous, intimate, serene, perfect bathroom for us! We cannot say it loud enough how much we would recommend Transitions Designs and working with Val!

WOW! Valerie is all we could have asked for in a designer/space planner! She's creative (maximized the area), resourceful (tradesmen, vendors and products), knowledgeable (current trends), organized (created an on-site notebook for contractors and us) and a great listener (designed using our taste/preference). The process can be daunting but we found Valerie's cool demeanor to be reassuring. After reviewing our wish list, she designed an open space and remodeled a kitchen that works for our family and is beautiful. So many have commented how nicely the new space flows with the existing space. We love our new kitchen!

Val did a great job of designing our new kitchen plus updating our home so now it feels brand new. Ours was a large project that included an all new kitchen, updating paint throughout, all new flooring, beautiful curved entry, stair railings, fireplaces, furniture & decor! Despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 restrictions during our renovation, Val & her team of professionals completed our project on budget & ahead of schedule! We are delighted with the outcome & the experience. We will reach out to Val again when the time comes to update our upstairs bathrooms!

My small 1986 master bath needed a renovation from floor to ceiling; however, this was so overwhelming that I decided to hire a professional designer to assist with the many decisions that needed to be made. After our first meeting, I knew that Valerie Mina of Transitions Designs was the right person to design and supervise the renovation. After patiently listening to my concerns, which included staying within a limited budget, she created a beautiful modern design and selected tile, quartz for the countertop, cabinets, lighting and mirrors for my approval. Her choices were wonderful and her insight regarding my preferences was impressive. The project began on November 11 and was completed a few days before Christmas. Valerie was in constant contact and kept me updated on changes in the timeline or estimated costs. Furthermore, she made frequent visits to ensure that the work was progressing according to her instructions/designs. Finally, Valerie’s organizational and supervisory skills, her amazing creativity, professionalism, and pleasant personality resulted in a extremely positive experience, and I am looking forward to working with her on future projects.

Usually I do my own designing, but since I was living some distance away I hired Valarie from Transitions Designs. She was recommended to me by the sales department of our retirement community. She was able to grasp my taste quickly and come up with a wonderful plan. We did everything online and with a few long phone calls. She answered all my questions. When we moved in I was so pleased.

We could not be happier with our decision to hire Valarie for our whole-home design. We bought our first house this year and were struggling with how to furnish and decorate it. It is a small-ish house (3 bd/2bath, 1500 sq. ft.) with oddly proportioned rooms and walled-off spaces typical of a 1970s home. It was well cared for, but needed some updates and we didn't know where to start or focus our efforts. We were nervous about finding and hiring an interior designer without a clear vision for what we wanted to do (and our mixed bag of style preferences). After an in-home consultation with Val, we didn't hesitate to hire her for our project. She helped us to narrow our focus based on our needs, wants, and budget and developed a look that worked well with our mixed bag of styles. She did a fabulous job on execution from design to helping us hire and manage contractors. Val is a true professional. She is a great listener, patient, honest, practical, creative and fun. Our finished project included a more open floorplan, new flooring throughout the house, a new fireplace, addition of ceiling beams, new fixtures, improved lighting, a new front door, beautiful and practical furniture, and a remodeled guest bathroom. Thank you, Val, for helping us transform the house into our home!

Valerie is the best! She is both professional, reliable and she is amazing at proportionally designing/decorating rooms. Great at coordinating with contractors who can at times be difficult. She has excellent taste! Very diligent and meticulous with what she does. She helped me tremendously with my beautiful salon!! She will always be my go to for Interior design for anything I do!!!!! Highly recommended!!

Val came highly recommended by a good friend, who had just recently used her design services in remodeling her home. From our initial meeting to the completed remodel, I was absolutely thrilled with Val's professionalism and design capabilities. I had a vision of my kitchen/family room in my head that Val translated into a functional and beautiful reality. She designed a space that works really well with our family's needs and lifestyle. Her knowledge about the types of materials and products available and well-suited for my needs, and the best places to shop for them, was invaluable during the design phase. On the big items (cabinets, counter surfaces, and paint colors), Val's first choice of materials (among several options presented) was the one I ended up picking. She prepared a rough budget for her design services at the beginning of the project, which was in line with our final numbers. I highly recommend Val and would not hesitate to work with her again in the future.

Val Mina recently redid our master bathroom. She did an excellent job. She took our old, outdated and quite ugly bathroom and turned it into a showpiece. She has amazingly creative ideas, she knows how to maximize any space and has very practical advice. Val has a vast understanding of materials and has accessibility to showrooms, trade stores, etc. Val was able to provide us with a variety of options for our bathroom and all we needed to do was choose the ones we preferred. During our entire project, Val made no mistakes whatsoever. She was consistently professional and enjoyable to be with. Val took my husband and I through each step of the process and was extremely available to any and all questions. We love our new beautiful bathroom and would happily work with Val again in the future. We highly recommend Val for any remodel or design project, she is absolutely amazing.
