Needless to say this room configuration did not work for our client. By opening up the space into one large bathroom, we were able to create a more modern aesthetic that included a large deck-mounted whirlpool tub, vanity space with room for two, ample storage and a luxury steam shower with a comfortable seat to relax. The pressure treated pine wood deck creates plenty of room for activities such as grilling and dining. We always take special care of our repeat clients - especially those that are really great people. As was the case here in Morris Plains. Our clients here made the decision to upgrade their outdoor living space so we replaced their previous pressure-treated deck with an all new TimberTech composite deck and vinyl railing. Flowing from the deck we created a paver patio with custom sitting bench and fire-pit. We used Cambridge pavers and Cambridge wall block to create the patio, bench and fire-pit. We also included some bluestone stepping stones that lead from the gate to the patio. For ventilation, we installed a 1200 CFM hood paired with a make-up air system to balance the negative pressure that hood pulls. New ducting was routed through the exterior siding on the side of the house. The Flooring MSI engineered hardwood throughout the entire main level — approximately 800 square feet — installed in a Bramlett herringbone pattern. Herringbone adds roughly 15-20 percent to material and labor costs because of the angled cuts and waste factor, but the result is a floor that reads as more considered and luxurious than standard plank flooring. Lauren Hunt from Reico Kitchen and Bath in Charlotte, NC, worked with The Atta Group to design a transitional-inspired kitchen and bar using Masterpiece cabinetry. The kitchen features Masterpiece cabinets in the Martel Evercore doorstyle in a Frost finish on the perimeter. The kitchen island and bar area both features the same doorstyle with a combination of two different finishes, Riverbed and Shortbread. Previn consisted of scraping grass down to dirt with a bobcat then work began on the deck. Posts were set, frame was built, and decking was put into place. After the deck was finished, a pergola was built on top of the structure, everything was pressure washed, then later stained. After the deck was stained, we dug out the rest of the area around the pool (not shown), all the way to the front in attempts to make a circle around the pool. A square was dug out of the ground, and butter sticks were put into place, barrier was put into place, and the fire pit constructed. Liner was placed down throughout the entire project site, and mulch was placed in both the back of the pool (not shown) from the back and side fence, circling the pool, and up to the deck. Cypress trees were planted around the pool, and various bushes along the mulch edge up against the deck by the ramp. Pavers were set into place to create a path around the patio and shadow rock was brought in, and spread all throughout remaining project area. This pressure treated pine deck features white vinyl rails with an Azek slate gray drink rail which gives a great contrast to the wood deck. The deck has great function by creating two spaces -one for seating/dining and another area to watch the kids play. A complete kitchen and powder room remodel in Herndon, Virginia, designed around two clear priorities: open up the kitchen to the rest of the main level, and create an experience that felt warm and timeless rather than trendy. Our solution involved removing the dividing wall (confirmed non-load-bearing), tightening the new dining room opening to 66 inches, and extending the fridge wall 25 inches into the kitchen to create a proper full-height pantry run. The result is a kitchen that breathes — open to the dining and living areas, with clear sight lines from the island to the bay windows at the far end.
