HOMEREDIOur New Home Buyer commissioned HOMEREDI to convert their old Master Bathroom into a spacious newly designed Contemporary retreat. We asked our designer Samantha Murray from SM Designs to work with our client to select all required tiles from our tile distributor. We then extended full contractor pricing toward the purchase of all fixtures used in this Spa bathroom. One of the unique features of this bathroom is a large 40"x40"x32" Japanese style soaking tub. Once this magnificent project was completed we asked our professional photographer Chuck Dana's Photography to capture the beauty of implementation. Lots of credit also goes to our clients who worked with us and our designer to fine tune their requirements. We are privileged to make their imagination come to life in this magnificent space.

Cummings Architecture + InteriorsBlending contemporary and historic styles requires innovative design and a well-balanced aesthetic. That was the challenge we faced in creating a modern kitchen for this historic home in Lynnfield, MA. The final design retained the classically beautiful spatial and structural elements of the home while introducing a sleek sophistication. We mixed the two design palettes carefully. For instance, juxtaposing the warm, distressed wood of an original door with the smooth, brightness of non-paneled, maple cabinetry. A cork floor and accent cabinets of white metal add texture while a seated, step-down peninsula and built in bookcase create an open transition from the kitchen proper to an inviting dining space. This is truly a space where the past and present can coexist harmoniously.

Ward+Blake ArchitectsDesigned for its challenging site with spectacular, unencumbered south-facing views, Aman 22 nestles comfortably into the slope. A water-feature, fire pit, and courtyard hot tub lure residents outdoors to enjoy the villas’ natural surroundings. The division between outdoors and indoors is blurred by low-profile windows that mark the minimal division along rock walls and floors that seamlessly continue from exterior to interior. A slatted fence-like door contributes to the transparency of the entryway, further integrating built and unbuilt environments.

Kaplan Thompson ArchitectsWe created an almost crystalline form that reflected the push and pull of the most important factors on the site: views directly to the NNW, an approach from the ESE, and of course, sun from direct south. To keep the size modest, we peeled away the excess spaces and scaled down any rooms that desired intimacy (the bedrooms) or did not require height (the pool room).

Emerald Builders, LLCAt the apex of a quiet cul de sac, with the Brunswick Commons trail meandering just footsteps from the backyard, an active retired couple wanted to build their forever home. They wanted the most efficient house they could build with at least 100% of the energy coming from their rooftop solar array. Even with a wall of pine trees directly to the south Michael Maines was able to design a house that, with high attention to detailing, we were able to make a net positive energy home. The 48 solar panels on the roof will make more than enough to power everything in the home and the extra will be credited toward the couple’s camp in northern Maine. Our diligent focus on air sealing paid off with a blower door shell test of .12 ACH50 (for comparison, passive house requires below .60 ACH50). With 12 inch thick double stud walls packed tight with recycled cellulose insulation, and heated and cooled with heat pumps, this house will stay comfortable all year round.
