Creating a space to entertain was the top priority in this Mukwonago kitchen remodel. The homeowners wanted seating and counter space for hosting parties and watching sports. By opening the dining room wall, we extended the kitchen area. We added an island and custom designed furniture-style bar cabinet with retractable pocket doors. A new awning window overlooks the backyard and brings in natural light. Many in-cabinet storage features keep this kitchen neat and organized. Bar Cabinet The furniture-style bar cabinet has retractable pocket doors and a drop-in quartz counter. The homeowners can entertain in style, leaving the doors open during parties. Guests can grab a glass of wine or make a cocktail right in the cabinet. Outlet Strips Outlet strips on the island and peninsula keeps the end panels of the island and peninsula clean. The outlet strips also gives them options for plugging in appliances during parties. Modern Farmhouse Design The design of this kitchen is modern farmhouse. The materials, patterns, color and texture define this space. We used shades of golds and grays in the cabinetry, backsplash and hardware. The chevron backsplash and shiplap island adds visual interest. Custom Cabinetry This kitchen features frameless custom cabinets with light rail molding. It’s designed to hide the under cabinet lighting and angled plug molding. Putting the outlets under the cabinets keeps the backsplash uninterrupted. Storage Features Efficient storage and organization was important to these homeowners. We opted for deep drawers to allow for easy access to stacks of dishes and bowls. Under the cooktop, we used custom drawer heights to meet the homeowners’ storage needs. A third drawer was added next to the spice drawer rollout. Narrow pullout cabinets on either side of the cooktop for spices and oils. The pantry rollout by the double oven rotates 90 degrees. Other Updates Staircase – We updated the staircase with a barn wood newel post and matte black balusters Fireplace – We whitewashed the fireplace and added a barn wood mantel and pilasters.

Deep pull-out drawers directly behind the cooktop and oven create a perfect storage solution for pots and pans. Cooking utensils are stored in the shorter drawer above and a pull-out cutting board is available for prep at the island or within reach from the cooktop area as well.

A colonial waterfront home in Mamaroneck was renovated to add this expansive, light filled kitchen with a rustic modern vibe. Solid maple cabinetry with inset slab doors color matched to Benjamin Moore Super White. Brick backsplash with white cabinetry adds warmth to the cool tones in this kitchen. A rift sawn oak island features plank style doors and drawers is a rustic contrast to the clean white perimeter cabinetry. A living room in the Oakland Hills for a family with two young kids. The goal was simple: sophisticated enough for the adults, relaxed enough for real life. Dark painted built-ins anchor the space with quiet drama, while a fuzzy rug, playful organic lighting, and family-friendly fabrics keep it warm, approachable, and never too precious to use.

Beyond the shower, a private toilet area lies behind a frosted-glass panel door. The matte white soaking tub sits atop the durable, low-maintenance marble-look porcelain floor. A floating vanity in matte metallic features two deep drawers for his and her storage below a frameless mirror.

A lovely Tudor home had an addition done in the 1990's that was sorely in need of an update. We enlarged the shower, used marble tiles for the shower walls and floor. A bench for ease of use. Fixtures were by Brizo. Counters were made of quartz. But the biggest, "ahhhh" moment comes from the luxurious, free-standing soaking tub for two. What a way to relax at the end of a long day.

A truly soft contemporary look -- clean lines without fuss mix with warm colors and light wood finishes for an inviting whole. A kitchen that you want to cook in. We combined the kitchen entry and pass-thru into one big opening, removing the short hanging cabinets and adding a bar peninsula, to create an open plan kitchen/dining/living area. Next, we moved the refrigerator down, centering it on the wall, removing it from its former cramped corner position. On either side of the refrigerator the homeowner’s wife requested extra wide (42”) deep drawers and more counter space. The range remained in place and gained a stylish stainless chimney hood. For great storage access we added corner swing-out shelves, lots of deep drawers, roll-out shelves and a pull-out trash cabinet. The wall corner cabinets were flared for extra storage and optional lazy susans. The new counter is engineered quartz with a textured finish in a dark charcoal color. The backsplash features large format tile in a variegated pattern of beige and green while the floor tile harmonizes in tones of mossy green. We added a nice new stainless dishwasher and undermount stainless sink and finished off the remodel with a tray ceiling and recessed lights. Wood-Mode Fine Custom Cabinetry: Brookhaven's Vista
