This particular client wanted a clean, neutral, sleek, transitional look to fit their professional lifestyles. The strategy was to have a neutral base, but buy several different groupings of decor and pillows to easily change the look of the room with out buying new furnishings. When full-time Massachusetts residents contemplate building a second home in Telluride, Colorado the question immediately arises; does it make most sense to hire a regionally based Rocky Mountain architect or a sea level architect conveniently located for all of the rigorous collaboration required for successful bespoke home design. Determined to prove the latter true, Siemasko + Verbridge accompanied the potential client as they scoured the undulating Telluride landscape in search of the perfect house site. The selected site’s harmonious balance of untouched meadow rising up to meet the edge of an aspen grove and the opposing 180 degree view of Wilson’s Range spoke to everyone. A plateau just beyond a fork in the meadow provided a natural flatland, requiring little excavation and yet the right amount of upland slope to capture the views. The intrinsic character of the site was only enriched by an elk trail and snake-rail fence. Establishing the expanse of Wilson’s range would be best served by rejecting the notion of selected views, the central sweeping curve of the roof inverts a small saddle in the range with which it is perfectly aligned. The soaring wave of custom windows and the open floor plan make the relatively modest house feel sizable despite its footprint of just under 2,000 square feet. Officially a two bedroom home, the bunk room and loft allow the home to comfortably sleep ten, encouraging large gatherings of family and friends. The home is completely off the grid in response to the unique and fragile qualities of the landscape. Great care was taken to respect the regions vernacular through the use of mostly native materials and a palette derived from the terrain found at 9,820 feet above sea level. These clients are Disney FANATICS and desired a whimsical play space for their two young children. We wanted to give them all the whimsy they desired with a subtle Disney undertone. A hidden theme in each element to the design is derived from different Disney movies. For example, seven drawers under the window seat for the “Seven Dwarfs”, scalloped removable wallpaper behind the TV to represent “The Little Mermaid” fish scales, whimsical umbrellas on the custom storage unit are straight replicas of the “Mary Poppins” prop, a bold hair on hide to call to “The Lion King”, a small sofa that converts to a twin bed perfect for “Sleeping Beauty”. The hidden messages throughout the space lead to a unique design and story that the clients were enthralled to play along with!

This pre-tinted lime plaster is inspired by the splendid and prestigious Marmorino, originally derived from powders of marble and lime. Ressource has developed this unique range of Roman plasters and are highly committed to offer exclusive original colors. This palette combines the traditional spectrum of mineral colors, along with contemporary shades inspiration. The real innovation of this coating lies in the simplicity of implementation : first, a special primer (Rough Primer) applied with a roller, following by one coat of Mineral undercoat and lastly one coat of Roman plaster to obtain this beautiful finish. This splendid decorative plaster, with a soft, slightly glossy finish, will fit into many different types of interiors. The Tucker's interior space is defined by the central focal point fireplace. They knew they needed a monumental material for to create the visual aesthetic they desired. Enter into the picture the MOP Caenstone plaster. Formed from an aged lime putty, a white sand, a brown sand, and three varying degrees of mica size ranging from minute to fish scale, they had their answer. A truly stone aesthetic derived of a true stone plaster. The custom color was perfected through multiple iterations until the exact shade and hue was crafted.

This new 3,000 sq. ft. four bedroom vacation home is designed for multi-generational family usage and flexibility. The unique u-shaped plan organizes the house into two bedroom wings connected by the central great room and kitchen/dining areas. All of the homes main living spaces enjoy exterior views and access to the courtyard/swimming pool areas. The home’s exterior material palette is derived from the local traditions of using stucco and metal roofing.

Nestled in a secluded mountaintop location is the captivating Contemporary Mountaintop Escape. Complementing its natural surroundings, the 2,955 square foot, four-bedroom, three-bathroom residence captures the panoramic view of the skyline and offers high-quality finishes with modern interior design. The exterior features a timber frame porch, standing seam metal roof, custom chimney cap, Barnwood siding, and a glass garage door. Reclaimed timber derived from the homeowner’s family farmhouse is incorporated throughout the structure. It is decoratively used on the exterior as well as on the interior accent walls and ceiling beams. Other central interior elements include recessed lighting, flush baseboards, and caseless windows and doors. Hickory engineered flooring is displayed upstairs, and exposed concrete slab and foundation walls complement the downstairs decor. The rustic and luxurious great room offers a wood-burning fireplace with an onsite extricated boulder hearth, reclaimed timber ceiling beams, a full reclaimed accent wall, and a charming stucco chimney. The main floor also exhibits a reclaimed, sliding barn door to enclose the in-home office space. The kitchen is situated near the great room and is defined by stainless steel appliances that include a Thermador refrigerator/freezer, an induction range, and a coordinating farmhouse sink. Other standout features are leathered granite countertops, floating reclaimed timber shelves, and stunning ebony-colored drawers. The home’s lower level provides ideal accommodations for hosting family and friends. It features a spacious living area with access to a multi-purpose mudroom complete with a kitchen. This level also includes two guest bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. All bedrooms, including the master bedroom, have caseless windows and doors, floating reclaimed shelves, and flush baseboards. The master bathroom showcases a modern floating vanity with boulder vessel sinks, wall-mounted faucets, and large format floor tile.

The setting was to create a bar, a greenhouse, on the roof of a supermarket. The building is designed with reference to the classic barn architecture and its shape with a sloping roof shape, black wooden frame and glazed construction. The terrace is design complemented by a derivative frame of building shapes, which creates a sense of condition on the roof.

M-S Pro Architects announce the completion of an indoor swimming pool in a state-of-the-art, single storey family home set in a picturesque location on the outskirts of Bratislava - one of Europe’s youngest capital cities. Kebony, a beautiful wood recommended by leading architects, was chosen to craft the ceiling of the swimming pool, which is designed to emulate rippling waves as well as for the terrace deck and structural beams. Sustainability and a desire to recreate the close proximity often seen between wood and water in the natural environment were primary focuses in the design of this project. This led a requirement for a low maintenance wood, compatible humidity and with advanced durability, for the swimming pool ceiling. In addition, a high level of precision when cutting the wood was required in order to achieve the desired appearance of waves. Supplied by Leading Market, Kebony was carefully selected for the pool ceiling, which consists of 490 lamellae of timber, due to its versatility, durability and environmental credentials. Kebony was also installed throughout the exterior of this property, both for the spacious outdoor terrace and the exterior and interior beams. One of the reasons to choose Kebony was the unified look of wood in all these different applications. Developed in Norway, the patented Kebony technology uses an environmentally friendly process, which permanently enhances the properties of sustainable softwood with a bio-based liquid derived from agricultural crop waste. By polymerising the wood’s cell wall with furfuryl alcohol, the wood gains greatly improved durability and dimensional stability, giving it characteristics similar to those of tropical hardwood. In creating a wood with comparable properties to tropical hardwood that can be grown in a FSC certified, sustainably managed forest, the demand for tropical woods is reduced, allowing timber to once again be an important part of sustainable construction. Tomáš Hubinský, Lead Architect at M-S Pro, commented: “From conception through to completion, the creation of this ceiling has been a real feat. Despite the challenges faced by such an intricate design, Kebony was the perfect material to convey our desired effect of waves rippling along the ceiling.
