Timber frame builders Chris Neill and Dwayne Keim, along with investor Jacques Berten, had decided to build a spectacular, 4,000-square-foot timber frame barn home near Eureka, Montana. Vicky’s Homes described this home as an entertainer’s dream as the U shaped kitchen seats 11 people and the two built in televisions offer guests the option to watch two different channels at the same time. Vicky’s Homes noted that the home has a plethora of innovative features such as: heated flooring through-out the main floor, basement and garage; built in coffee bar in the nook; RGB LED lighting can change colours in the bulkheads, art niches and toe-kicks; and a custom designed glass enclosed wine cellar with custom built-in cabinetry.

This project is best described in one word: Fun – Oh wait, and bold! This homes mid-century modern construction style was inspiration that married nicely to our clients request to also have a home with a glamorous and lux vibe. We have a long history of working together and the couple was very open to concepts but she had one request: she loved blue, in any and all forms, and wanted it to be used liberally throughout the house. This new-to-them home was an original 1966 ranch in the Calvert area of Lincoln, Nebraska and was begging for a new and more open floor plan to accommodate large family gatherings. The house had been so loved at one time but was tired and showing her age and an allover change in lighting, flooring, moldings as well as development of a new and more open floor plan, lighting and furniture and space planning were on our agenda. This album is a progression room to room of the house and the changes we made. We hope you enjoy it! This was such a fun and rewarding project and In the end, our Musician husband and glamorous wife had their forever dream home nestled in the heart of the city.

Amazing basement finish in a previously blank space. This project had just about everything. Huge walk-in shower with rain-head, hand held wand and body jets. Full wet bar with granite counter tops. Bedroom with a walk-in closet. And a custom hidden safe room!

Five stars isn’t enough! Our project was to reconfigure and update the main floor of a house we recently purchased that was built in 1961. We wanted to maintain some of the unique feeling it originally had but bring it up-to-date and eliminate the closed-in rooms and downright weird layout that was the result of multiple, partial remodeling projects. We began with a long wishlist of changes which also required replacement of very antiquated plumbing, electrical wiring and HVAC. We even found a fireplace that had been walled in and needed major re-construction. Many other aspects and details on this incredible list we made included an all new kitchen layout, converting a bedroom into a master closet, adding new half-bath, completely rebuilding the master bath, and adding stone, tile and custom built cabinetry. Our design plans included many fixtures and details that we specified and required professional installation and careful handling. Innovative helped us make reasonable decisions. Their skilled staff took us through a design process that made sense. There were many questions and all were answered with sincere conversation and positive – innovation – on how we could achieve our goals. Innovative provided us with professional consultants, who listened and were courteous and creative, with solid knowledge and informative judgement. When they didn’t have an answer, they did the research. They developed a comprehensive project plan that exceeded our expectations. Every item on our long list was checked-off. All agreed on work was fulfilled and they completed all this in just under four months. Innovative took care of putting together a team of skilled professional specialists who were all dedicated to make everything right. Engineering, construction, supervision, and I cannot even begin to describe how much thanks we have for the demolition crew! Our multiple, detailed project designs from Raul and professional design advice from Mindy and the connections she recommended are all of the best quality. Diego Jr., Trevor and his team kept everything on track and neat and tidy every single day and Diego Sr., Mark, Ismael, Albert, Santiago and team are true craftsmen who follow-up and make the most minuscule woodworking details perfect. The cabinets by Tim and electrical work and installation of fixtures by Kemchan Harrilal-BB and Navindra Doolratram, and Augustine and his crew on tile and stone work – all perfection. How would you describe this space? We like to call it Cozy Modern Farmhouse with a slight Boho edge! :) Our client wanted inject some personality into her space with an updated look that is stylish but one that is comfortable and inviting for family and guests. We added a fabulously soft caramel leather track arm sofa, a cozy chaise lounge for reading and watching television, and must have swivel chairs for additional guests. The family enjoys putting their feet up and stretching out, so an upholstered over-sized round ottoman that doubles as a coffee table was the perfect option! Family is number one to our client so we added a gallery wall and balanced that over-sized artwork flanked by iron sconces (with remote control candles - A GIRLS BEST FRIEND). Lastly the layered lighting finishes off the space from the Prairie Style ceiling fan, to the floor lamp, table lamps. What a fun and inviting space! We love it!

Large, historic home from the 1930's overlooking downtown Santa Cruz. My clients are self-described "plantaholics" and tend to buy many plants, only to have them die. They have an extensive gardening area and low water budget. Our main goal was to make the overall design cohesive between various areas of the garden while utilizing interesting and unusual plant selections - a very fun project for me! We removed over 3,000 square feet of traditional grass and replaced it with several lawn alternatives. The first is a walkable groundcover that uses a fraction of the water of regular grass (and can be seen here in several seasons, one of which has tiny flowers); The second is a California native grass that grows long (or can be kept short) and can tolerate some shade. Both of these are excellent choices for clients with children or dogs who want a green patch without using excessive water. My clients love plants from Australia and South Africa so plants from the Proteacea and other Southern Hemisphere beauties are used predominantly throughout the project. Clean, flowing water is so important for wildlife and the beautiful stone fountain is a constant gathering spot for birds and other animals. My clients are beyond thrilled with their gorgeous, nature-filled garden and ever-expanding plant knowledge.

The Courtyard Oasis project encompasses what abarnai does best; remodeling a space with an emphasis on functional installation artwork. Our clients wanted a beautiful and tranquil outdoor space as a seamless extension of their indoor living space. They initially described the outdoor area as a drainage ditch, and to transform it into a Courtyard Oasis required detailed design work and creative collaboration. An open central patio, with custom trellises as a living focal point, was the starting point of the design to connect the indoor and outdoor spaces and allow the courtyard area to be divided into different zones -- for relaxing, entertaining and gardening. The abarnai team loved this project because they go to completely revamp the area and utilize a wide variety of design and building skills, including patio construction, custom trellis artwork, composite decking and stairs, a wood retaining wall, feature lighting systems, planting areas, and a sprinkler system.

Sprawling and luxurious are only a few of the words that come to mind when describing The San Martino. This rambling hillside-walkout estate is bursting with spacious common rooms and thoughtful private spaces. European elements adorn the exterior, while a three-car garage promotes convenience. Inside, a more than generous great room features a wall of windows to showcase impressive views. Nearby, a large kitchen and breakfast room boast ample sitting and countertop space, not to mention an adjacent octagonal sunroom with fireplace.

Clean, crisp and very white is one way to describe this beautiful kitchen. Featuring Green Forest's Park Place White cabinets, this space is refreshing and bright.

Inside, we created the inner design with 2 × 6-ft. wooden boards. You could describe it as a geometric shape featuring a box, in a box, within a box. Not only is this a unique pergola design, nesting these beams and boards makes the structure very stable. For the pergola materials, the homeowner selected wood stained with a solid white stain.
