For this particular project, our client's personal desire was for bold, contemporary colours and finishes.
As we worked together and provided detail, it became evident that they were very much wanting fine detail, high-quality fixtures and fittings.
When it came to the finishes for the kitchen, we specified a highly durable Traceless Laminate in a black finish, which is boldly set off by a stippled laminate in a bright tangerine colour.
The bold tangerine colour laminate was complimented with paint back high gloss glass in the same colour to the back of the breakfast bar, splashback and first level of the tiered overhead cupboards.
The kitchen cupboards and drawers have been fitted with all the best soft touch runners and hinges, functional drawer inserts for cutlery and utensils, large bin drawers, as well as integrated dishwasher and fridges.
We're pleased to say that all the challenges in this space were resolved well beyond the client's expectations. This project also won Interior Design of the Year 2020 at the HIA Awards!

The edges chamfered at an angle of 45° as well as the PEARL covering are made of an acrylic material
around two millimetres thick. This allows light to enter the acrylic body, illuminating the material from
within and creating a unique depth effect which particularly comes into its own with dark surfaces – the
reason why PEARL is currently available in two colours.
With this new programme, LEICHT is fulfilling the aesthetic desire for that extra special something in
the modern kitchen. The shimmering mother-of-pearl effect is a novel eye-catcher and at the same time
discreet enough not to intrude.

White cabinetry, a fun color on the walls, and a new island give this modern kitchen a whole new lease on life.

The exterior of this historic beauty, long in need of repair, was in poor condition. Stucco cracks, paint deterioration, holes in the garage walls, and a dilapidated patio cover created daunting challenges. We carefully and respectfully addressed these issues, breathing new life into the home while maintaining its original charm.
Modern enhancements were central to the project’s success. We thoughtfully preserved the existing structure and carefully considered the design lines to ensure rhythm and continuity. We masterfully balanced symmetry and asymmetry, particularly in the new back patio design, which extends the living space and adds a visually cohesive element to the rear of the home. The choice of materials and colors highlights the home’s Spanish Colonial character, with a mix of textures and contrasting hues emphasizing key architectural features. Durable porcelain tiles on the patio floor provide function, safety and beauty. The color palette creates clear transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces, enhancing flow and safety.
The homeowners desired an updated, functional space while preserving the home’s historic characteristics. We navigated the complexities of working with a historic property, coordinating with the Historic Preservation Office to ensure all updates followed established guidelines. We fully realized the homeowner’s vision for a beautiful and functional outdoor space, meeting their need for an inviting outdoor entertaining area.

Panels on the accent wall and a wood mantle above the white marble fireplace add texture to the modern living room. In addition to the abundance of natural light from the large, black-framed windows and glass panel doors, high ceilings afford a particularly bright, airy feel to this modern open floor plan.

We all know that this is the space where everyone gathers whether you want them to or not! We believe in creating a clean palette that can host all of the colorful chaos of the holiday crowds, an elegant night of cooking for two, and the frosting-covered fingers of a pack of four year olds. A kitchen’s flexibility and usefulness are as important as the finishes, and it is our job to listen to your functional needs as well as your aesthetic desires.

The home owners were particularly focused on the budget for this project, therefore, the designer, project manager and trades worked together to come up with creative solutions that would not compromise quality and allow for the best product to meet the clients wants, needs and desires.
Meeting space constraints in the kitchen / dining was also of key consideration. The space did not allow for the inclusion of a island so it was configured with a U-shape, which did not compromise storage space and allowed for bar height seating at the peninsula counter top. Additional storage was added in the dining area in the form of a built in hutch to match the kitchen cabinetry.

This client came to me requesting a concept rather than a style.
After living in his home for 15 years, he wanted it to have a “beach-poolside vibe”.
This made for a fun approach.
Styles can have so many names and nuances that clients don’t always know exactly what style they are looking at or requesting.
With a request for a concept, I just needed to determine if my approach should be literal or figurative.
I came to the initial consultation with concept boards with both approaches, and it was determined that figurative was the desired approach.
As the project unfolded, playfulness did too, and some literal elements were added—particularly for the pleasure of his future guests.

This very contemporary translation of a more rustic, organic mood is an artful solution to the desire for naturally-inspired design with a modern touch. It has been designed to fit a range of bathroom decors, but works particular well with out Aquatica Sophia freestanding solid surface bathtub.
The components each feature key elements derived from our surroundings – the warmth of wood and rich earth tones redefined into bathroom fixtures which transcend conformity.
The impressive countertop has been fashioned from natural oak, as if hewn straight out of a solid slab, its slightly irregular, bevelled edges the only concession to detailing. On this, sits the free-standing, gloss white ceramic wash basin, a clever combination of rectangular design and soft curved corners and basin bowl that is both modern and organic at the same time. Ceramic vessel sink has been made in Italy and is available in a sleek, glossy white finish. Constructed using our elegant but strong and durable ceramic material of 1.6 cm thick. The stain resistant qualities and low surface moisture absorbency of this washbasin are functional and easy to clean.
Beneath, the elegant and very useful, clip handle, 3-drawer cabinet, again striking in its simplicity of design and its rich, earth toned matt lacquer finish. The streamlined styling of this cabinet works in perfect harmony with the sink console providing generous storage in both the drawers and cabinet top. The lacquer finish ensures hard-wearing, easy clean, hygienic beauty.
One of the most attractive features of the Aquatica Furniture Composition range is that you can choose from the large palate of colors in your choice of two materials from which to create your own personalized bathroom furniture to suit your mood and decor. For a natural look, select any of five warm natural wood tone veneers for your master bathroom cabinets, shelves and drawers. Maybe it’s the smart, contemporary look of White Millennium or sophisticated Light Grey or Dark Brown you are looking for. Perhaps you prefer the rich golden timber hues of Honey Sherwood or Tobacco Sherwood. You can go bright and modern with a range of stunning lacquered colors which bring a playful tone to a children’s or teens bathroom or make a more dramatic statement in an adult bathroom with a real Wow factor. Here, you’re certainly spoilt for choice with colors spanning the full spectrum from White and Cream to Light, Mid or Dark Grey and Black, with Luscious Yellow, Orange, Coral, Red, Cobalt Blue, Pistacchio Green or Olive Green in between, in either smooth matt or high sheen gloss finish. Or you can combine both solid colors with softer wood grains, with matt and gloss finishes to create beautiful bathroom furniture that is uniquely you.

This product combination features a rare aesthetic match in the looks of interior and exterior wooden flooring. On top of that, application is nearly unlimited, even in circumstances with extreme changes in humidity and temperature. This is a result of a meticulous attitude and wise use of raw materials during manufacturing. This particular floor finish in anthracite shades is based on application of natural hardwax oils on engineered oak flooring inside, and on solid ash flooring outside. The oak and ash wood have both been pretreated with 100% natural processes resulting in a dark, warm appearance into the deepest grains. The thick top layer of the engineered oak floorboard (6+mm) provides that the floor and the dark colour will remain for a lifetime. The pretreatment of the solid ash flooring also highly improves its stability and durability, and is now even suitable along a pool! The outside terrace or patio will now be a TRUE extension of the living room, and designed for a smooth transition. No standard products, but personalized as desired. Last but not least exterior siding and paneling can even be matched. ‘WOODlife-Inside out’ is available in European oak, (thermo) ash and Douglas fir.

At Knockout Renovation we take pride in fulfilling our clients desires. In this particular project our client owned a two bedroom apartment and later purchased the neighboring studio. The intent was to combine the studio and create an open space kitchen/ dining room.
The kitchen was enlarged, the dining room now overlooks the city, and they have a guest powder room.
Additional upgrades were made to this space like custom built-in seating with storage and light plank wood floors.
This is now a dream luxury apartment with a beautiful view, imagine the nightly dinner views!

As the designer behind this master bathroom transformation, my mission was clear: to breathe new life into an outdated and dimly lit space while catering to my client's distinct desires. The project was marked by the client's unwavering commitment to enhancing functionality privacy and preserving the owner’s cherished MTI tub, all while adhering to the unalterable presence of existing windows.
FEATURES:
1. A glass pass-through between rooms allows natural light to flow freely, promoting a sense of openness.
2. The ceiling-mounted sliding glass door hardware elevates the shower experience with taller glass panels and effortless operation.
3. Accessibility and safety were paramount, resulting in a zero-entry shower, strategically placed grab bars, and an 'assist' TP holder.
4. To cater to varying preferences, a main showerhead and hand shower were accessible for standing and bench use.
5. A shared glass door between rooms eliminated the inconvenience of cumbersome door swings.
6. Privacy was enhanced through gradient glass etching, ensuring comfort and tranquility.
7. The digital shower system allowed for personalized controls, accommodating the unique preferences of the couple.
Creating a private bath around the existing MTI tub initially seemed insurmountable. However, innovative thinking led to a transformative solution. The drop-in tub was ingeniously converted into a free-standing tub with a narrow quartz deck adorned with a captivating mother-of-pearl mosaic tile surround. A floating walnut shelf at the tub's end introduced practicality and organic beauty.
Black plumbing fixtures were chosen to accentuate the mesmerizing depth of the mother-of-pearl mosaic tile. Horizontal book-matched walnut vanities introduced warmth and character, seamlessly connecting the interior to the outdoor view. The white quartz countertop is a refreshing contrast to the intricate finishes, lending a touch of sophistication. The ceiling light over the tub, akin to the icing on a cake, added a final note of elegance.
To meet the client's need for increased storage, the vanities have pullouts & roll-outs. These thoughtful additions ensured effortless access to personal care products. LED-lit medicine cabinets not only provided excellent lighting but also served as storage for everyday essentials. Vanity toe kick lighting is thoughtfully designed with a motion sensor at the entry, providing a guiding path to the water closet. Particularly valued during nighttime, this feature prevents unnecessary lights from illuminating, preserving the tranquility of those in bed.
