Brion Jeannette ArchitectureRemodeled in 2013 with a new entry sequence that is unassuming yet intriguing from the street. Once inside the front entry you are immediately drawn to the top of a dramatic stair overlooking the entire living level and its spectacular coastal views and white sand beach below. The main living level has been opened so completely that the only enclosed room that remains is the powder room. This entire level is one ‘Great’ room. Every space, including the central office, welcomes breathtaking and unobstructed views with expansive natural light and ventilation.
This same enhancement of the views was achieved using glass separation walls in the master suite; between the gracious bedroom-sitting areas and the bathroom, and shower surround.
A lower level daylight basement, carved into the hillside, was created and is devoted to guest comforts with two suites, a game room with bar, a steam/sauna room and a lovely private deck with horizon edge spa & pool, and a warming fire feature

In 2010 this garden won an Award of Merit from the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, , a Grand Award from the MD*DC*VA Landscape Contractors Association, and an Environmental Improvement Award of Distinction from PLANET.

Axis Mundi DesignIt wasn’t necessary to overthink things when Axis Mundi designed interiors for an apartment at Brooklyn’s glass-sheathed 1 Grand Army Plaza, the luxury building by Richard Meier already endowed with all the “starchitect” bells and whistles, as well as drop-dead stunning views of Brooklyn, the harbor and Prospect Park. What did require considerable aptitude was to strike the right balance between respect for these assets, particularly the panoramas, and livability. The all-white scheme doesn’t just complement Meier’s own aesthetic devotion to this purest of pure hues; it serves as a cool backdrop for the views, affording comfortable vantage points from which to enjoy them, yet not drawing attention away from the splendors of one of the world’s most distinctive boroughs. Sleek, low-lying Italian seating avoids distracting interruptions on the horizon line. But minimal color accents and pattern also sidestep what could have been a potentially antiseptic environment, making it tactile, human and luxurious.

Woodsman Kitchens and FloorsThis amazing entertainment loft overlooking the lagoon at Beachwalk features our Eclipse Frameless Cabinetry in the Metropolitan door style. The designers collaborated with the homeowners to create a fully-equipped, high-tech third floor lounge with a full kitchen, wet bar, media center and custom built-ins to display the homeowner’s curated collection of sports memorabilia. The creative team incorporated a combination of three wood species and finishes: Maple; Painted Repose Gray (Sherwin Williams color) Walnut; Seagull stain and Poplar; Heatherstone stain into the cabinetry, shiplap accent wall and trim. The brushed gold hardware is the perfect finishing touch. This entire third story is now devoted to top notch entertaining with waterfront views.
