Native Florida limestone runs from the exterior to the interior, and serves as a wonderful accent wall. Since this is a new construction, the architect and Pineapple House designers were about to define the contiguous Living/Dining/Kitchen areas using furniture and custom ceilings.

The open-plan kitchen in our Fitzrovia apartment has been carefully designed to maximise space and storage yet also allow for a Gaggenau oven and combi-microwave and wine fridge. There is a water filter system and instant hot water tap for further convenience. The worktop and splash back in a marble effect composite add a fresh burst of white to the scheme. Clever pantry storage accommodates dry foods and the ability to store away larger appliances such as the toaster and blender. This split-level home in the Castro Valley Hills contained multiple different floor levels and was segmented by walls, creating a kitchen with wasted space and a tiny dining room that could hardly fit a table for four. Ridgecrest took down the walls in the main living space to create a great room that is perfect for family time and entertaining. This completely custom kitchen features customized inset cabinetry, a matte black steel range hood, white oak floating shelves, a one-of-a-kind white oak pantry door with a steel mesh panel, steel mesh panels on the wall cabinetry, and beautiful black marbled quartz countertops. The satin brass hardware and fixtures pop against the white and black surfaces. The kitchen window opens across a passthrough countertop for outdoor entertaining. In the living room, a floor-to-ceiling concrete colored quartz fireplace is surrounded by a custom white oak entertainment center.

With two different levels uniquely designed, this beautiful multi-level patio creates four different outdoor living spaces that blend together smoothly. The lower level consists of a dining area with space for a table and chairs as well as a section for entertaining at their new custom limestone bar. The second level has a space for grilling and a peaceful area for relaxing in the hot tub. The patio was created with Lafitt Pavers. A Holland Stone soldier’s course and circle inset add an attractive detail, and the Belair walls create a stunning effect while helping to define the different outdoor living spaces.

Our team’s primary objectives were to fill space with natural light, period architectural details, and cohesive selections throughout the main level and primary suite. At the entry, new archways are created to maximize light and flow throughout the main level while ensuring the space feels intimate. A new kitchen layout along with a peninsula grounds the chef’s kitchen while securing its part in the everyday living space. Well-appointed dining and living rooms infuse dimension and texture into the home, and a pop of personality in the powder room round out the main level. Strong raw wood elements, rich tones, hand-formed elements, and contemporary nods make an appearance throughout the newly renovated main level and primary suite of the home.

What began as a renovation project morphed into a new house, driven by the natural beauty of the site. The new structures are perfectly aligned with the coastline, and take full advantage of the views of ocean, islands, and shoals. The location is within walking distance of town and its amenities, yet miles away in the privacy it affords. The house is nestled on a nicely wooded lot, giving the residence screening from the street, with an open meadow leading to the ocean on the rear of the lot. The design concept was driven by the serenity of the site, enhanced by textures of trees, plantings, sand and shoreline. The newly constructed house sits quietly in a location advantageously positioned to take full advantage of natural light and solar orientations. The visual calm is enhanced by the natural material: stone, wood, and metal throughout the home. The main structures are comprised of traditional New England forms, with modern connectors serving to unify the structures. Each building is equally suited for single floor living, if that future needs is ever necessary. Unique too is an underground connection between main house and an outbuilding. With their flowing connections, no room is isolated or ignored; instead each reflects a different level of privacy and social interaction. Just as there are layers to the exterior in beach, field, forest and oceans, the inside has a layered approach. Textures in wood, stone, and neutral colors combine with the warmth of linens, wools, and metals. Personality and character of the interiors and its furnishings are tailored to the client’s lifestyle. Rooms are arranged and organized in an intersection of public and private spaces. The quiet palette within reflects the nature outside, enhanced with artwork and accessories.
