Designs Anew Houston LLCThe Hall Bath was converted into the open shower space and back-up space for her wheelchair. Insisting upon using the portable bench that she was used to for the last 35 years, we placed all of the plumbing within hand's reach - the hand-held shower wand on a slidebar with its own temp control and shampoo niche.
Albright Remodeling Inc.The second story can be reached by either a set of conventional stairs or by an elevator. The elevator has custom controls designed to meet the homeowner's specific needs. The first floor elevator entrance is close to the door leading to the garage for quick access to the second floor.
One of the design goals of the elevator installation was to prevent the feeling of claustrophobia when traveling between floors. The large window in the elevator shaft (at right below) is placed directly opposite another window facing the back yard.

T-Square CompanyThe side ramp continues across the front yard and intersects with another ramp coming off the front porch. The front porch was overlaid with concrete to be even with the interior finished floor. A new entry door was installed with an ADA low profile threshold. The new ADA shower was pushed out onto the porch to contain a 48" x 48" shower.
