A wood chip mulch path connects the patio to the rest of the yard. A dry river rock stream bed re-directs water away from the lawn, and is an aesthetic solution for drainage. Blueberries are an excellent edible hedge that's fun for the whole family to enjoy, while still giving you privacy. It softens the metal fence.

After a tear-down/remodel we were left with a west facing sloped front yard without much privacy from the street, a blank palette as it were. Re purposed concrete was used to create an entrance way and a seating area. Colorful drought tolerant trees and plants were used strategically to screen out unwanted views, and to frame the beauty of the new landscape. This yard is an example of low water, low maintenance without looking like grandmas cactus garden.

This design also kept the family's new puppy in mind - fencing it in for safety and planting with careful consideration of plants that are safe for dogs. The winding pathway for humans is reminiscent of a stream bed and there is also a narrow perimeter fence specifically for the pup! Ben Park
