A full home renovation and addition for a young creative couple - a home baker and an electronic music producer. We designed to their Japanese/American heritage and customized their home to support their lifestyle, hobbies, and careers.

Located in one of the Ritz residential towers in Boston, the project was a complete renovation. The design and scope of work included the entire residence from marble flooring throughout, to movement of walls, new kitchen, bathrooms, all furnishings, lighting, closets, artwork and accessories. Smart home sound and wifi integration throughout including concealed electronic window treatments. The challenge for the final project design was multifaceted. First and foremost to maintain a light, sheer appearance in the main open areas, while having a considerable amount of seating for living, dining and entertaining purposes. All the while giving an inviting peaceful feel, and never interfering with the view which was of course the piece de resistance throughout. Bringing a unique, individual feeling to each of the private rooms to surprise and stimulate the eye while navigating through the residence was also a priority and great pleasure to work on, while incorporating small details within each room to bind the flow from area to area which would not be necessarily obvious to the eye, but palpable in our minds in a very suttle manner. The combination of luxurious textures throughout brought a third dimension into the environments, and one of the many aspects that made the project so exceptionally unique, and a true pleasure to have created. The Manhattan Project is located in Houston's Galleria District. It involved gutting the original room, sound proofing the walls, ceiling and floor. We covered the walls with fire treated fabric panels to improve the sound quality and we installed a 135" motorized film screen and a 3D projector. The sound is hidden behind the decorative Speaker Grills and front lower section of the projection screen wall.

The back entry hall incorporates a built in locker bench with hooks and cubbies for storage as well as a drop station, perfect for keys and charging electronics

Port LED round wall/floor recessed fixture provides 3.5 watts of warm white light. Features a 16 degree precise focus, a tempered glass lens, and a marine-grade aluminum trim. Available with a round or square bevled edge. Rated for outdoor use with a wet location electrical box (by other), or indoor use with a standard octagon electrical box (by other). The aluminum housing dissipates heat and allows the LED to operate at its optimum working temperature, thus giving the LED a stable light output and long lifetime. The trim accepts any color of Rosco or Lee color filter gels. Can be dimmed down to 30 percent, without flickering, using a low voltage electronic or magnetic dimmer.
