The living room becomes a livable showplace where quiet elegance is amped with sparkle and shine — in keeping with the wife’s desired aesthetic. The focal wall exhibits Sorrentino’s custom design — a streamlined fireplace set within straight-cut porcelain emulating travertine, and a TV tucked into a niche for a clean look. Thick floating shelves are backed with mirrors that reflect a symmetrical furniture arrangement; the cocktail table has a strong presence in the center and the seating surrounding it is plentiful. A pair of cream chenille swivel chairs face two Vanguard barrel-back loungers upholstered in a whisper of spa blue. A plush taupe rug from Stanton lies underfoot, and a Hudson Valley Chambers chandelier — boasting tapered candles balanced atop a gleaming polished nickel ring — shimmers overhead. Just beyond the staircase, the clients’ own piano brings a melodic personal touch to the scene.

Snow Creek Consort Through warm craftsman colors, truth of materials and a ground hugging connection to nature, the Pasadena Residence portrays naturalistic simplicity with references to the historical Arts and Craftsman Movement with modern touches. The rich colors emulate the hues found in the natural environment through the style’s history of traditional values of quality and beauty. Materials found in their traditional form set the stage for hard horizontal lines and softly flowing curves throughout the 1914 home. These ideals emanate the Arts and Craft’s ideals while keeping the original historical intentions of the home.

This vintage condo in the heart of Lincoln Park (Chicago, IL) needed an update that fit with all the traditional moldings and details, but the owner was looking for something more fun than a classic white and gray kitchen. The deep green and gold fixtures give the kitchen a bold, but elegant style. We maximized storage by adding additional cabinets and taking them to the ceiling, and finished with a traditional crown to align with much of the trim throughout the rest of the space. The floors are a more modern take on the vintage black/white hexagon that was popular around the time the condo building was constructed.
