BANDD DESIGNA farmhouse coastal styled home located in the charming neighborhood of Pflugerville. We merged our client's love of the beach with rustic elements which represent their Texas lifestyle. The result is a laid-back interior adorned with distressed woods, light sea blues, and beach-themed decor. We kept the furnishings tailored and contemporary with some heavier case goods- showcasing a touch of traditional. Our design even includes a separate hangout space for the teenagers and a cozy media for everyone to enjoy! The overall design is chic yet welcoming, perfect for this energetic young family.
Project designed by Sara Barney’s Austin interior design studio BANDD DESIGN. They serve the entire Austin area and its surrounding towns, with an emphasis on Round Rock, Lake Travis, West Lake Hills, and Tarrytown.

Miller Landscape ArchitectureA family with five energetic kids and a rambling new bloodhound pooch needed a better connection to the outdoors in their terraced hillside home, overlooking the historic Mountain View Cemetery. The steep and disconnected terraces made life outdoors feel miles away. The clients expressed to us that when they thought about going outside, they often didn’t. Now, more functional stairs with generous pauses make a multi-story journey to the backyard easy to do every day. And their tall house and hillside are more integrated with playful twists, turns, and swings that invite the kids (and pup) out to play.

Seeking a space to enable this set designer to work from home, this homeowner contacted us with an idea for a new workshop. On the must list were tall ceilings, lit naturally from the north, and space for all of those pet projects which never found a home. Looking to make a statement, the building’s exterior projects a modern farmhouse and rustic vibe in a charcoal black. On the interior, walls are finished with sturdy yet beautiful plywood sheets. Now there’s plenty of room for this fun and energetic guy to get to work (or play, depending on how you look at it)!

Haus Interior DesignThis gorgeous home was featured in Northern Virginia Magazine. Even though it was horribly dated when we started, we saw tremendous potential! We started with Craftsman-like molding, and envisioned warm white walls and rich dark wood floors. Lots of texture through wallcoverings, window treatments and rich wool rugs transformed this grand home into a stunning project.
Foundre: MadeOur quaint dining room is cladded with barn board and house siding. The nearby Douglas Fir record shelf separates the front door from the living room area.
Seacliff Construction & DesignThe owners of this beachfront retreat wanted a whole-home remodel. They were looking to revitalize their three-story vacation home with an exterior inspired by Japanese woodcraft and an interior the evokes Scandinavian simplicity. Now, the open kitchen and living room offer an energetic space for the family to congregate while enjoying a 360 degree coastal views.
Built-in bunkbeds for six ensure there’s enough sleeping space for visitors, while the outdoor shower makes it easy for beachgoers to rinse off before hitting the deckside hot tub. It was a joy to help make this vision a reality!

House 7, named the "Concrete Village Home", is Cheng Design's seventh custom home project. With inspiration of a "small village" home, this project brings in dwellings of different size and shape that support and intertwine with one another. Featuring a sculpted, concrete geological wall, pleated butterfly roof, and rainwater installations, House 7 exemplifies an interconnectedness and energetic relationship between home and the natural elements.

Julia Chasman DesignWe removed half the full wall between the Living Room and Kitchen, and built an arched opening to make the space seem like it had always been there. The opening brought in light, and allowed us to add an island, which greatly increased our storage space and functionality in the kitchen.
