THE SETUP
Once these empty nest homeowners decided to stay put, they knew a new kitchen was in order. Passionate about cooking, entertaining, and hosting holiday gatherings, they found their existing kitchen inadequate. The space, with its traditional style and outdated layout, was far from ideal. They longed for an elegant, timeless kitchen that was not only show-stopping but also functional, seamlessly catering to both their daily routines and special occasions with friends and family. Another key factor was its future appeal to potential buyers, as they’re ready to enjoy their new kitchen while also considering downsizing in the future.
Design Objectives:
Create a more streamlined, open space
Eliminate traditional elements
Improve flow for entertaining and everyday use
Omit dated posts and soffits
Include storage for small appliances to keep counters clutter-free
Address mail organization and phone charging concerns
THE REMODEL
Design Challenges:
Compensate for lost storage from omitted wall cabinets
Revise floorplan to feature a single, spacious island
Enhance island seating proximity for a more engaging atmosphere
Address awkward space above existing built-ins
Improve natural light blocked by wall cabinet near the window
Create a highly functional space tailored for entertaining
Design Solutions:
Tall cabinetry and pull-outs maximize storage efficiency
A generous single island promotes seamless flow and ample prep space
Strategic island seating arrangement fosters easy conversation
New built-ins fill arched openings, ensuring a custom, clutter-free look
Replace wall cabinet with lighted open shelves for an airy feel
Galley Dresser and Workstation offer impeccable organization and versatility, creating the perfect setup for entertaining with everything easily accessible.
THE RENEWED SPACE
The new kitchen exceeded every expectation, thrilling the clients with its revitalized, expansive design and thoughtful functionality. The transformation brought to life an open space adorned with marble accents, a state-of-the-art steam oven, and the seamless integration of the Galley Dresser, crafting a kitchen not just to be used, but to be cherished. This is more than a culinary space; it’s a new heart of their home, ready to host countless memories and culinary adventures.

To create a unique kitchen, we take inspiration from the personality of our clients; it’s a collaborative effort to develop the exact look and feel that best suits their lifestyles.
The challenge of this kitchen was to re-build the existing kitchen and adjoining full bath, creating a much better flow with plenty of storage for this active family (as they often entertain seaside).
The two-toned cabinetry in both white and laguna blue reflected a true beach-feel adorned with a terrific choice of starfish and shell shaped hardware to draw attention to this creative and beautifully transformed seaside kitchen.
We remind our clients that in order to be unique, do something unique! And this is nicely demonstrated in both the layout, color scheme and backsplash design details. Our client selected several hand painted decorative ocean creatures for the backsplash, drawing from colors in the room, and this created a truly unique conversation piece!
A glint of sparkle from the white quartz countertops brings you closer to the beach in this impressive oceanfront home.
From flooring to ceiling, we created a picture perfect beautiful beach house kitchen that is not only functional but provides a relaxed and inviting feel for these seaside owners.

Located in the heart of Miami, this project was developed in a narrow lot overlooking the waterway, resulting in a one-story H-shaped layout with four wings that merge into a central gathering area. It is an incredible oasis in which no matter where you are in the house, you are surrounded by beautiful views. Reaching the front door requires navigating floating concrete steps across a built-in pond, past this is the living area where elevated ceilings and clerestory windows were included to enhance the connection with nature. Materials further highlight this relationship, with warm paneling on the ceiling and limestone floors that echo the exterior coral stone walls. All bedrooms face the outdoor scenery and are lined with floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the space with natural light, as well as the main bathroom and hallways, so strolls across the house have an element of discovery. It has taken a life of its own and that's exactly what we were trying to create, a home where you get to enjoy every single corner of it.

Our clients wanted a lot of comfortable seating, so we chose a sectional that can accommodate six to seven people, plus two arm chairs and an ottoman that can double as another seat. The layout encourages conversation or watching a movie or sports on the wall-mounted TV. A fire is optional.

This Dallas home originally built in 1958 had a one car garage that was filling up! The homeowners desired to turn that garage into living space for their family and build a new garage on their lot that would give them the storage and car protection. We came up with a plan and found materials that matched their home and the new structure looks as if it was original to the home. We built a new 2 car garage with plenty of space for extra storage and large attic above. A separate door entrance makes for easy entry to the new garage. A large timber bar that runs down the length of the outside wall is perfect for entertaining large groups of guests. We then renovated the old garage and turned it into an awesome living room. It features hardwood floors, large windows and French doors to the patio with an additional door to the driveway. We used reclaimed brick to fill in the outside of the home where the previous garage door was for an exact match! Our clients are thrilled with how this new garage and new living room enhance their home! With their children grown, getting married and having children, our clients the lower level to be family-friendly for all ages. Durable, stain-resistant materials were mandatory, and the design had to be consistent with the first floor spaces. For those who aren't watching the game on TV, we created a fireplace sitting area that encourages conversation or solitary browsing on the Internet.

After more than 20 years of design experience, my team and I are experts at reusing and repurposing furnishings. In this case, we opted to keep the large chest on the right from the previous owners and move it to the living room. We rejuvenated the fireplace with a new surround and left the windows uncovered so our clients could feast their eyes on the magnificent view of their backyard.
