Built on our client's property, we constructed an enchanting two-story home featuring a three-car garage. The exterior design harmoniously integrates stacked stone and siding, complemented by board and batten shutters, sturdy solid wood front doors, a spacious front porch with a wood inlay ceiling and flagstone flooring, as well as embellished corbels. The exquisite kitchen, enhanced with bespoke white cabinetry, a generous central island, stainless steel appliances, and hardwood flooring, effortlessly links to the family room. This open family space showcases a stone fireplace, a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams, and abundant natural lighting. This residence boasts a well-planned layout featuring an office, generous closet and storage spaces, and hardwood flooring throughout the living areas. Upstairs, you'll find a spacious bonus room, while the basement offers an expansive storage area and workshop. Our client wasn't ready to leave the home she loved, but a change in her health had made the upstairs bathroom harder to reach, and the main level didn't have a full bath. We converted one bay of her three-car garage into livable space, which gave us the room to build a fully accessible bathroom, a walk-in closet, and a proper mudroom and laundry on the level she actually lived on. This laundry/mud room combined white-maple exterior cabinetry with dark chocolate-cherry cabinetry. Effortlessly fused together with this multi-white engineered stone, this combination of color adds warmth to this large open space. These same color combinations are replicated in the open U-shaped kitchen. The laundry space is equipped with undercabinet lighting to increase utility with additional cabinet hardware, such as the hanging rod, to allow for additional storage.

This laundry room used to be an outdoor space, that got very little sun because it's surrounded by house. With the help from a really creative architect, we enclosed this space and turned it into a highly functional and gorgeous mud / laundry room. These walnut cabinets house all kinds of coats, shoes and sporting equipment. There are windows connecting the inside spaces, making the space feel like it's always been a part of the home. Nestled on a serene avocado farm in Carpinteria, our Webster House project has undergone a stunning refresh. Thoughtfully designed to honor the historical charm of this mid-1800s victorian treasure, this premier luxury getaway is a tucked-away gem that offers an unparalleled retreat for relaxation and celebration alike. The home’s meticulous updates include carefully chosen furnishings and fixtures that embrace its rich heritage while providing modern comfort and elegance. With three inviting guest bedrooms, two full baths, a fully equipped kitchen, and a spacious great room with a fireplace, the Victorian balances timeless appeal with contemporary sophistication. A full wraparound porch invites guests to savor tranquil moments, whether soaking in the beauty of the surrounding avocado groves or listening to the soothing sounds of nearby Casitas Creek.

Our client purchased what had been a custom home built in 1973 on a high bank waterfront lot. They did their due diligence with respect to the septic system, well and the existing underground fuel tank but little did they know, they had purchased a house that would fit into the Three Little Pigs Story book. The original idea was to do a thorough cosmetic remodel to bring the home up to date using all high durability/low maintenance materials and provide the homeowners with a flexible floor plan that would allow them to live in the home for as long as they chose to, not how long the home would allow them to stay safely. However, there was one structure element that had to change, the staircase. The staircase blocked the beautiful water/mountain few from the kitchen and part of the dining room. It also bisected the second-floor master suite creating a maze of small dysfunctional rooms with a very narrow (and unsafe) top stair landing. In the process of redesigning the stairs and reviewing replacement options for the 1972 custom milled one inch thick cupped and cracked cedar siding, it was discovered that the house had no seismic support and that the dining/family room/hot tub room and been a poorly constructed addition and required significant structural reinforcement. It should be noted that it is not uncommon for this home to be subjected to 60-100 mile an hour winds and that the geographic area is in a known earthquake zone. Once the structural engineering was complete, the redesign of the home became an open pallet. The homeowners top requests included: no additional square footage, accessibility, high durability/low maintenance materials, high performance mechanicals and appliances, water and energy efficient fixtures and equipment and improved lighting incorporated into: two master suites (one upstairs and one downstairs), a healthy kitchen (appliances that preserve fresh food nutrients and materials that minimize bacterial growth), accessible bathing and toileting, functionally designed closets and storage, a multi-purpose laundry room, an exercise room, a functionally designed home office, a catio (second floor balcony on the front of the home), with an exterior that was not just code compliant but beautiful and easy to maintain. All of this was achieved and more. The finished project speaks for itself.

Having two young boys presents its own challenges, and when you have two of their best friends constantly visiting, you end up with four super active action heroes. This family wanted to dedicate a space for the boys to hangout. We took an ordinary basement and converted it into a playground heaven. A basketball hoop, climbing ropes, swinging chairs, rock climbing wall, and climbing bars, provide ample opportunity for the boys to let their energy out, and the built-in window seat is the perfect spot to catch a break. Tall built-in wardrobes and drawers beneath the window seat to provide plenty of storage for all the toys. You can guess where all the neighborhood kids come to hangout now ☺
