This kitchen is situated in a true urban loft reverted from an old industrial ice cream plant. The homeowner wanted to maintain the industrial feel by using Scavolini textured gray melamine cabinet lowers with stainless steel pulls, and titanium gray glossy laminate uppers with aluminum banding. The black granite countertops have a honed finish, and the floor tile is also textured. The retro gray and red mosaic backsplash is the only real color in the space adding texture and a slight automotive feel. Black Bertoia wire bar stools are another dark accent.

Need a cool, industrial console table or sofa table? Here is one we made for no other than George Clooney. That's right, George Clooney! We’d love to build one for you as well. It would work great for a console or sofa table, but also as a neat TV Stand or media console. We can make it any size you’d like and in any configuration, but this listing is for one as pictured and it’s 76” W x 16” D x 30” high (email us for pricing for custom configuration.). It is made of a beautiful reclaimed wood and we have several wood options available (we will always have a dark color, light color, and one in between –just let us know which one you like at check-out by including a note with your order).
Changes can be made to the configuration such as using steel or a different wood. Some changes to the design can be done at no charge, while some may affect the price a bit. Feel free to contact us for details.
Our clients include Bose, XBox, Vans, Hard Rock Café, Starwood Hotels, and many other fortune 500 companies, not to mention countless wonderful homeowners.

The kitchen in this 1950’s home needed a complete overhaul. It was dark, outdated and inefficient.
The homeowners wanted to give the space a modern feel without losing the 50’s vibe that is consistent throughout the rest of the home.
The homeowner’s needs included:
- Working within a fixed space, though reconfiguring or moving walls was okay
- Incorporating work space for two chefs
- Creating a mudroom
- Maintaining the existing laundry chute
- A concealed trash receptacle
The new kitchen makes use of every inch of space. To maximize counter and cabinet space, we closed in a second exit door and removed a wall between the kitchen and family room. This allowed us to create two L shaped workspaces and an eat-in bar space. A new mudroom entrance was gained by capturing space from an existing closet next to the main exit door.
The industrial lighting fixtures and wrought iron hardware bring a modern touch to this retro space. Inset doors on cabinets and beadboard details replicate details found throughout the rest of this 50’s era house.

The 2021 Southern Living Idea House is inspiring on multiple levels—from the stunning location in Louisville, Kentucky overlooking the Ohio river, to the design-driven home that marries European countryside vibes with a timeless aesthetic. Dubbed the “forever home,” the concept was to design for all stages of life, with thoughtful spaces that meet the ever-evolving needs of families today.
The 5,545-square-foot, Colonial Greek Revival Cottage-style home is located in The Breakers at Prospect community and is the collective effort of many. While it may have formerly been a trend to embrace open layout living spaces, following the pandemic families are seeking spaces in the home that feel separated, to allow for privacy. Rooms with clear intentions allow more options for areas in which to spend time, depending on your mood, and this home perfectly balances livable and lively ideas.
Marvin products were chosen for this project to maximize the use of natural light, allow airflow from outdoors to indoors, and provide expansive views that overlook the Ohio River.

The "Dream of the '90s" was alive in this industrial loft condo before Neil Kelly Portland Design Consultant Erika Altenhofen got her hands on it. No new roof penetrations could be made, so we were tasked with updating the current footprint. Erika filled the niche with much needed storage provisions, like a shelf and cabinet. The shower tile will replaced with stunning blue "Billie Ombre" tile by Artistic Tile. An impressive marble slab was laid on a fresh navy blue vanity, white oval mirrors and fitting industrial sconce lighting rounds out the remodeled space.
