We absolutely love the final result of this unique, two-toned kitchen! Our clients came to us with the need for a lot of love in their kitchen. Their home, situated in the Fox Ridge neighboorhood of Centennial, is a lovely and spacious house with lots of potential. The kitchen, while very sizable, contained a number of super dated elements. Our goal was to give the kitchen a complete aesthetic facelift, but to also encourage better function in the kitchen. Our primary concern was disconnecting the existing (huge) peninsula and replacing it with a centralized island. This busy family of four will benefit from the gathering space the island provides. We worked with the existing ceiling condition to create a unique, recessed wood-clad ceiling that offers a gorgeous rustic aesthetic. The existing linoleum flooring was replaced with beautiful walnut hardwood. New cabinets were installed in a two-toned orientation. The upper cabinets are a soft stone gray and the lowers are a painted hazelnut. We've stacked cabinets next to the range to create a secondary pantry storage area, and repaired portions of the existing pantry to optimize shelving space and appearance. The kitchen also includes a new desk area integrated into the cabinet run for homework and to-do lists. A new large, singe-basin sink and pull-down faucet were installed, and the kitchen is brought together by the mini-stacked stone backsplash that brings texture and warmth to the room. We've offered durable and beautiful working surfaces by topping the cabinets with quartz countertops: MSI Boletus against the window wall and MSI Concerto on the island. We love the look the of this final result, but particularly love the optimized function that it offers this wonderful family!

These clients had already remodeled their kitchen and master bath and wanted to add additional living space to their already beautiful backyard. They had plenty of space between the back of their house and the pool to fit a large outdoor kitchen and entertaining space. We demoed the overhang, rafters, shingles and decking as needed to accept new joists, frame and new roof. We framed out the trim overhang to match the existing house, so that you couldn't tell the difference. Oklahoma Flagstone was used for the new portion of deck. The outer edge of stone from the existing deck was removed to tie in with new deck, so again, the addition was seamless. A new gas line was run from the existing pool equipment to the new grill and a secondary area was made off of the pipe that can be tied on to for future use. Three GFCI plugs were installed in outdoor kitchen area; one in the back splash, one for the refrigerator and one for grill. The clients purchased two outdoor ceiling fans that we also installed to keep the area cool in the heat of the summer. End the end, the new exterior new soffit, trim, fascia and gutters were painted and the columns were stained to match the existing exterior. This Sammamish, WA project transformed the existing outdoor living space with a new elevated deck designed to align seamlessly with the home's interior floor height and a newly installed exterior door. The deck features TimberTech Terrain decking in Silver Maple with matching fascia and borders, complemented by white surface-mounted glass railing with an Azek Coastline top cap. Custom flashing was incorporated to integrate the deck with the existing patio cover and gutter system. The space was further enhanced with new electrical components, including exterior lighting, provisions for two customer-supplied Bromic heaters, outlets for future motorized screens, and a customer-supplied ceiling fan. Low-voltage wiring was also incorporated for future railing post lighting. A 33-square-foot concrete slab extension was added to match the deck footprint, while the existing patio cover received coordinated beam and post wraps and a new white Undercover system with integrated gutter and drainage. The finished project creates a cohesive, functional outdoor living area that blends seamlessly with the home's existing architecture while providing a durable and comfortable space for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

A traditional 1940s brick colonial house needed better functionality and modernization while still maintaining some of its historic charm. To provide the family with a better flow for functionality and entertaining, Revolve Design reconfigured the first floor, moving the kitchen to the existing formal dining room space and enclosing an existing outdoor breezeway to serve as the mudroom. Demolishing an existing wall that separated the former dining room from pantry and powder room allowed the homeowners to take full advantage of the existing windows and connecting to the backyard. After Photo- Here is an example of one of my refacing projects. We used Showplace Wood Products- Renew program! We went with Showplace's Galena Door Style, in Paint Grade with Mocha Paint and an Ivory Glaze. This is another option instead of going with new cabinets that can often help save you money, saves time and it gives you the option of keeping your existing counters. We can still add any new cabinet if need be, like we did on this project. You sure cannot tell that these were my client's existing cabinets! The existing cabinets were originally plain old red oak cabinets. I've got say, it sure looks like we went with new ones. They didn't want the expense of removing and replacing their existing granite counter tops, they also wanted to do away with the desk area, add some wine storage and a new wood counter. We added a bookcase on the end of the island for cookbooks and replace their old sink with a new stainless farm sink and of course, a new tiled back splash!

Sunset Heights Renovation This Victorian style home was beautifully designed from the interior to the exterior. Our clients were looking to update the outdoor space, not only was it not functional, but it did not complement their Victorian home. Although we had a yearlong waiting list for design, our clients were patient and hired us for 3D design. Many times, our clients already have all the components in place, such as a pool, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, pergola etc., but they just don’t feel right. The most important feature of our client’s new space was not only the components, but to be able to have a space that would allow them to create a lifetime of memories. From a visual perspective their existing space seemed limited and confined. Our design team was able to see past this and expanded its space to its full potential which allowed us to create multiple destinations for relaxation, enjoyment and most importantly entertainment. As we began the design process, we were able to take a closer look at the existing space and noticed many safety concerns and how the existing materials did not accentuate the home either. At the completion of their 3D design, we were able to present new ideas and materials that would enhance the value of the home as well as help them visualize the new space created with multiple destinations. Ivory travertine coping & decking was a must as was the Talavera blue highlighted tiles for the newly renovated pool. A new working spa and functional outdoor kitchen with bar were two spaces we are sure they would enjoy while spending time outdoors. We enlarged the existing covered patio to expand the seating area to include chaise lounges, a loveseat and chairs under the pergola shade accent. Newest favorite additions are the gas firepit and cabin play fort which can be highly utilized year-round. Our clients say, “The adults love hanging out in the fort too!” Nestled in the Historic District, our client’s home is now filled with plenty of space and great energy for family gatherings, parties, watching sports, graduations and so much more. Who knows, maybe a future wedding or two! Memories of a lifetime will be made here for years to come! THE SETUP This client lives in a great high-rise condo in downtown Chicago. Alicia has already remodeled a few areas of her home, including her kitchen and home office. The bathroom is one of the last big places the client wanted to update. The existing bathroom had a large, outdated whirlpool tub in the corner. It was a darker space that had a lack of natural light. There are no windows (due to the bathroom’s location within the high-rise building). So, the idea was to brighten up the space and give the client an updated, elegant primary bathroom that is more her style and tailor-made for her routines. Design Objectives: - Make the space brighter. - Create different daily routine stations to maximize functionality while keeping things clutter-free – a makeup station, a blow-dry station, and a sink-needs station. - Achieve the client’s specific style and function needs while also keeping the look and design open to future possibilities: different users of the space/resale clients. Design Challenges: - Toilet cannot be moved. (In a high-rise, you can’t really move plumbing around too much when reimagining a space) - Existing bathroom had a soffit that hid a lot of electrical wiring, so completely removing the soffit wasn’t an option. - The blow-dry station needs to accommodate the client’s preference for standing up. - Finding a place for the make-up station, which the client wants oriented for sitting. - Create storage within the shower that can eliminate the clutter of personal care products that are actually needed every day. Do this, while keeping the client’s favorite things about the existing shower: the shower bench, a tub filler faucet (for rinsing shaving cream when shaving legs) and a low niche for placing her foot when shaving her legs. THE RENEWED SPACE Design Solutions: - Extended a bit of wall near the toilet to give the commode its own area within the space, but without closing it off into a claustrophobic WC. - Worked within the reality of the existing soffit situation, reshaping it to align with the new shower. Can lights were also added. Installed a beautiful ceiling light fixture that works within the new soffit shape, commanding attention and adding light, as if the sofit shape was chosen for it. - Created a nice, furniture-looking 42”-high cabinet with pullout drawers to be the blow-dry station, complete with a mirror and a nice top. The pullout drawers are all powered, concealing a Dyson dryer and curling iron (and all the accoutrements) while keeping them plugged in, which is ideal for easy usage and put away. A stylish mirror on the wall above the cabinet, and proper lighting, make this the perfect blow-dry station. The top has a grommet that can accommodate a power cord should the client ever want to have a powered device on top of the cabinet. - Put the sit-down makeup station where the tub used to be, putting the mirror back into a new recessed wall just a bit, allowing the area to have more room. - Created a niche in the shower’s inner wall so that you can’t see it unless you are literally inside the shower. At the client’s request, it also has a hook so she can hang her loofa. Hiding the utility niche in this way allowed us to use the full main wall of the shower as a canvas for a beautiful accent stripe of raised decorative tile. The new shower has her old favorites, too: the tub filler, foot niche and bench. Alicia’s client loves her new primary bathroom, especially the blow dry area. It is very accommodating for her, as a tall lady, while being very easy to use. The drawers store everything. Being powered, they make using already-plugged in appliances very easy to use and put away. Her previous makeup station was a freestanding vanity with a single drawer, so beauty products were all over the surface top. With her new makeup station, everything is nicely tucked away and organized in drawers. The new lighting is fantastic and the colors are light and soft. The clients loves the overall look and feel of her new bathroom and raves about how well the functionality-minded design makes her morning routine – and her life – easier and enjoyable!

San Rafael Overview: This garden project began with the demolition of an existing pool and decks cantilevered over a hillside. The garden was originally a Japanese-themed garden retreat and free-form shaped pool. While the client wanted to update and replace many elements, they sought to keep the free-form characteristics of the existing design and repurpose existing materials. BK Landscape Design created a new garden with revetment walls and steps to a succulent garden with salvaged boulders from the pool and pool coping. We built a colored concrete path to access a new wood trellis constructed on the center-line view from the master bedroom. A combination of Bay friendly, native and evergreen plantings were chosen for the planting palette. The overhaul of the yard included low-voltage lighting and minimal drainage. A new wood deck replaced the existing one at the entrance as well as a deck off of the master bedroom that was also constructed from repurposed materials. The style mimics the architectural detail of the mansard roof and simple horizontal wood siding of the house. After removing a juniper (as required by the San Rafael Fire Department within the Wildland-Urban interface) we designed and developed a full front-yard planting plan. All plants are Bay-Friendly, native, and irrigated with a more efficient in-line drip irrigation system to minimize water use. Low-voltage lighting and minimal drainage were also part of the overhaul of the front yard redesign.

We reduced the counter depth just a bit by the tub, allowing more room for hamper cabinet and window access. - Concealed Hamper Storage – A custom pull-out hamper was integrated into the vanity (right side, by tub), providing discreet storage within an 18-inch depth constraint. - Shower Plumbing Wall Niche – We shifted the niche left, just enough to work around the plumbing infrastructure and still score a roomy storage spot that looks intentional. - Sophisticated Selections – Porcelanosa curvy white tile, Kohler brushed gold fixtures, and a neutral grey tile floor created a simple, timeless aesthetic that will be loved years to come. - Open Shower – Replacing the side wall with a clear glass surround, continuing the tile on the ceiling and extending the footprint opened up this area to the room while allowing more natural lighting into the shower space. This bathroom transformation shows how thoughtful design turns challenges into opportunities. Brushed gold fixtures add warmth to the fresh white palette, while the perfectly balanced floor tile brings just the right depth. A partially glass-fronted vanity introduces subtle charm, giving the space a unique edge. Once cramped and outdated, this bathroom now feels bright, spacious, and serene—a testament to how every design detail makes a difference.

The client wanted to have an existing apartment remodeled and the kitchen, the bathroom and the powder room redesigned on a large-scale. For this purpose, the existing kitchen was gutted and also the wall to the storeroom was removed, which created much more space. She wanted a central kitchen element as a meeting place for family, friends and guests, flanked by a simple kitchenette and a wall unit with maximum storage space. A two-sided access to the kitchen makes it now easy to store purchases on short distances and to reach the nearby dining table in the open plan living area. White was chosen as the basic color for the cabinet furniture, which blends perfectly with the warm wooden elements of the surface material and the floor made of patterned ceramic tiles. All seems cozy and homely. Suspended lamps with vintage settings give the room a special touch. The existing interior bathroom was also gutted. We replaced the bathtub with a generous shower facility. The vanity unit in a classic oak look provides a lot of storage space, even for a washing machine and a dryer. The opposite wall construction offers additional storage space for a variety of personal items, but also technical units such as a hot water tank. The generous mirror coating creates a greatly enlarged space that turns this small bathroom into a spa oasis. The open-plan two-floor room concept was elegantly coordinated in terms of colors – white as the dominant color is alternated by delicate shades of gray. The existing wooden staircase was color-adapted with a special coating. Minimalist elements such as a fireplace in a concrete look give the room a modern touch, without neglecting the factor of coziness.

This Sammamish, WA project transformed the existing outdoor living space with a new elevated deck designed to align seamlessly with the home's interior floor height and a newly installed exterior door. The deck features TimberTech Terrain decking in Silver Maple with matching fascia and borders, complemented by white surface-mounted glass railing with an Azek Coastline top cap. Custom flashing was incorporated to integrate the deck with the existing patio cover and gutter system. The space was further enhanced with new electrical components, including exterior lighting, provisions for two customer-supplied Bromic heaters, outlets for future motorized screens, and a customer-supplied ceiling fan. Low-voltage wiring was also incorporated for future railing post lighting. A 33-square-foot concrete slab extension was added to match the deck footprint, while the existing patio cover received coordinated beam and post wraps and a new white Undercover system with integrated gutter and drainage. The finished project creates a cohesive, functional outdoor living area that blends seamlessly with the home's existing architecture while providing a durable and comfortable space for entertaining and enjoying the outdoors.

Sunset Heights Renovation This Victorian style home was beautifully designed from the interior to the exterior. Our clients were looking to update the outdoor space, not only was it not functional, but it did not complement their Victorian home. Although we had a yearlong waiting list for design, our clients were patient and hired us for 3D design. Many times, our clients already have all the components in place, such as a pool, outdoor kitchen, fireplace, pergola etc., but they just don’t feel right. The most important feature of our client’s new space was not only the components, but to be able to have a space that would allow them to create a lifetime of memories. From a visual perspective their existing space seemed limited and confined. Our design team was able to see past this and expanded its space to its full potential which allowed us to create multiple destinations for relaxation, enjoyment and most importantly entertainment. As we began the design process, we were able to take a closer look at the existing space and noticed many safety concerns and how the existing materials did not accentuate the home either. At the completion of their 3D design, we were able to present new ideas and materials that would enhance the value of the home as well as help them visualize the new space created with multiple destinations. Ivory travertine coping & decking was a must as was the Talavera blue highlighted tiles for the newly renovated pool. A new working spa and functional outdoor kitchen with bar were two spaces we are sure they would enjoy while spending time outdoors. We enlarged the existing covered patio to expand the seating area to include chaise lounges, a loveseat and chairs under the pergola shade accent. Newest favorite additions are the gas firepit and cabin play fort which can be highly utilized year-round. Our clients say, “The adults love hanging out in the fort too!” Nestled in the Historic District, our client’s home is now filled with plenty of space and great energy for family gatherings, parties, watching sports, graduations and so much more. Who knows, maybe a future wedding or two! Memories of a lifetime will be made here for years to come!
