Design ideas for a contemporary full sun gravel landscaping in San Francisco.

Gorgeous outdoor kitchen space with horizontal wood backdrop wall and integrated TV entertainment system. Large, open counter space with endless view allows for a unique dining experience. Larger format porcelain slab for ease of maintenance and modern industrial pergola with outdoor heating above for added comfort and protection from outdoor elements. Intricately placed lighting helps to create amazing nighttime ambiance.

The shape of the angled porch-roof, sets the tone for a truly modern entryway. This protective covering makes a dramatic statement, as it hovers over the front door. The blue-stone terrace conveys even more interest, as it gradually moves upward, morphing into steps, until it reaches the porch. Porch Detail The multicolored tan stone, used for the risers and retaining walls, is proportionally carried around the base of the house. Horizontal sustainable-fiber cement board replaces the original vertical wood siding, and widens the appearance of the facade. The color scheme — blue-grey siding, cherry-wood door and roof underside, and varied shades of tan and blue stone — is complimented by the crisp-contrasting black accents of the thin-round metal columns, railing, window sashes, and the roof fascia board and gutters. This project is a stunning example of an exterior, that is both asymmetrical and symmetrical. Prior to the renovation, the house had a bland 1970s exterior. Model: Linear Burner System Outdoor The idea behind the Landscape Architecture design was to look at the color palette of the building which stuck with warm and cool tones and create a threshold like experience for the two usable spaces (spa and firepit/gathering area) without being completely contained. The Concrete frame allows for someone enjoying the spa to enjoy the experience of the fire. Visually the design acts as a center piece that is pleasing to the eye and a unique way to gather and commerce in conversation. Walking into the backyard, the scene that greets you is an impressive overview of the landscape design initiative. The cozy social space with a fire pit is backed up by a large outdoor kitchen under a pergola. The crowning jewel of the kitchen is a gaucho grill where the wood is being fired up in preparation for steaks.

This family treehouse can be used year round for a variety of activities. The upper deck, with stunning views, is perfect for summer picnics, while the side deck is more suited for a quiet spot to read or relax. The interior has a couch for napping, a desk for writing and working, a kitchenette and small dining area.
