For this project it was crucial to find more working space in such a limited kitchen size. To accommodate this, we designed a full Naxo extension table for them. This practical system consists of a tabletop peninsula that fits in the space normally provided by the drawer. Simply open the front panel to deploy the extension table. For the cabinets, the homeowners went with an Elegante door in white supermat by Northern Contours. We then installed a new quartz countertop and backsplash both done in Carrara extra. To complete the new look a new subzero fridge, Wolf induction cooktop, microwave drawer and oven were installed.

This prominent villa is at the heart of the St Johns Wood Conservation Area, but had been unoccupied for over two decades and was in need of a extensive refurbishment. Substantial excavations below and adjacent to the existing house, have created an large basement, filled with natural light from a series of roof lights and light wells. The basement provides the infrastructure required for a house of this size to function, including staff accommodation, plant and utility rooms, along with a large family suite overlooking a landscaped light well. This allows the upper fillers to be light filled and flexible, providing a number of reception rooms and ensuite bedrooms. Existing features have been retained and expanded upon where possible, using traditional craftsmanship with a modern twist. The reconfigured staircase and lift bring light down into the centre of the plan, and make this an accessible and practical family home.

The modern Italian glass and chrome dining table is beautiful in its simplicity, and yet practical, with extensions that allow seating to expand to 10. We used fully upholstered chairs for comfort, with sturdy washable materials to eliminate the worries of hosting grandchildren. The armchairs at the end make great pull-up extra seating for the living area. The centerpiece is a hand-crafted piece of art glass that inspired the colourful artwork in the rest of the space.
