A home office off the kitchen can be concealed with a pocket door. Gray-painted maple Wood-Mode cabinetry complements the kitchen finishes but makes the space unique.
**Project Overview**
A small, quiet, efficient office space for one that is perfect for sorting mail and paying bills. Though small it has a great deal of natural light and views out the front of the house of the lush landscaping and wildlife. A pocket door makes the office disappear when it's time to entertain.
**What Makes This Project Unique?**
Small yet incredibly functional, this desk space is a comfortable, quiet place to catch up on home management tasks. Filled with natural light and offering a view of lush landscaping, the compact space is light and airy. To keep it from feeling cramped or crowded, we complemented warm gray-painted maple cabinetry with light countertops and tile. Taller ceilings allow ample storage, including full-height open storage, to manage all of the papers, files and extras that find their way into the home.
**Design Challenges**
While the office was intentionally designed into a tiny nook off the kitchen and pantry, we didn't want it to feel small for the people using it. By keeping the color palette light, taking cabinetry to the ceiling, incorporating open storage and maximizing natural light, the space feels cozy, and larger than it actually is.

The new floor plan design made more effective use of the space, accommodating multiple renovation needs into the kitchen. The new layout created an open galley kitchen with a 13 1/2′ Island with seating at each end, a cool-grey custom banquette with 2 tables.

This custom garage cabinetry system includes a high gloss red, black, and wire bronze finishes to achieve a modern high end car connoisseur look. The countertops were finished with a Mayan dyed copper metal laminate and all drawer boxes were lined with a black and red speckled vulcanized high impact rubber matting. Some added features include: integrated seating bench, personal beverage center, concealed hot/cold water retractable hose reel, and a wet/dry shop vacuum system. The TV was also equipped with its own high gloss surround cabinet with tiered picture frame to further accent the garage colors. The TV cabinet has LED back lighting to make the TV appear as though it is floating in space. Red and Black moulding were added to the upper soffit area to conceal a multi-color LED lighting for added ambiance. To finish things off two car lifts were installed for more "good boy" toys.

Envision a spacious family home nestled against Boulder’s Flatirons, where modern tech meets playful fun. Level One is a 7,100 SF haven for a family of five, blending green building with light and views to create a space that's efficient, joyful, and perfectly tied to the land.
Our clients dreamed of a bright, open home like an Apple Store, with big glass walls to soak in the scenery. They wanted mass-timber for a natural look, exposed systems to show the home's smart inner workings, and room for guests, fitness, and relaxation.
A sloped site can complicate building and efficiency, but we used insulated foundations and smart insulation to keep energy use low and the structure solid. Exposed elements saved on finishes while adding a unique, honest charm.
The concept mixes strength and whimsy – timber panels for walls and floors that double as decor, with a sloped ceiling framing epic views. Playful additions like a slide and climbing walls turn everyday spaces into adventures for the whole family.
Mass-timber builds a sturdy core, with charred wood siding for weather and fire protection. Triple windows, extra insulation, and solar panels make it energy-smart, cutting bills and boosting sustainability in Boulder's climate.
Warm and functional, with custom wood storage that flows naturally. Open main areas connect living with views, while bedrooms offer cozy lofts. A pool, steam room, and gym bring wellness home in a fun, engaging way.
Since early 2023, Level One has been a lively family retreat that saves energy and sparks joy. It honors Boulder's beauty with thoughtful design, creating a home full of light, connection, and lasting comfort for generations.
