We feel fortunate to have had the opportunity to work on this clean NW Contemporary home. Due to its remote location, our goal was to pre-fabricate as much as possible and shorten the installation time on site. We were able to cut and pre-fit all the glue-laminated timber frame structural elements, the Douglas Fir tongue and groove ceilings, and even the open riser Maple stair. The pictures mostly speak for themselves; but it is worth noting, we were very pleased with the final result. Despite its simple modern aesthetic with exposed concrete walls and miles of glass on the view side, the wood ceilings and the warm lighting give a cozy, comfy feel to the spaces. The owners were very involved with the design and build, including swinging hammers with us, so it was a real labor of love. Homeowner and GB General Contractors Inc had a long-standing relationship, this project was the 3rd time that the Owners’ and Contractor had worked together on remodeling or build. Owners’ wanted to do a small remodel on their 1970's brick home in preparation for their upcoming retirement. In the beginning "the idea" was to make a few changes, the final result, however, turned to a complete demo (down to studs) of the existing 2500 sf including the addition of an enclosed patio and oversized 2 car garage. Contractor and Owners’ worked seamlessly together to create a home that can be enjoyed and cherished by the family for years to come. The Owners’ dreams of a modern farmhouse with "old world styles" by incorporating repurposed wood, doors, and other material from a barn that was on the property. The transforming was stunning, from dark and dated to a bright, spacious, and functional. The entire project is a perfect example of close communication between Owners and Contractors.

This amazing beach house was in desperate need of a refresh. Our clients had a vision of how they wanted their home to look, but didn't quite know how to get there. A complete renovation was the solution. Our team went to work creating a classic design, including a new modern kitchen. We used a light gray shaker cabinet on the perimeter with a dark stained shaker on the island. Contrasting quartz counter tops with a drop miter edge add interest and texture. Blown glass pendant lights illuminate the island, while LED under cabinet lighting is used to create ambiance throughout the kitchen. Custom upholstery including sofas, chairs and ottomans in warm grays, browns whites and blues create generous seating areas in the common living spaces.. A built in bench seat piled with cozy pillows lets you take in the beautiful sunsets and water views. We love the use of reclaimed barnwood on this project. We used planks with worn crackled paint on the partition wall in the master bed room, vintage stained wood for the laundry room barndoor and thick timbers for the fireplace mantle and floating wall shelves. Lots of salvaged coastal treasures and sea glass are used to accessorize the home and give it that little extra touch. Our clients just loved the final result, and its certainly one of our favorites as well!

This project's final result exceeded even our vision for the space! This kitchen is part of a stunning traditional log home in Evergreen, CO. The original kitchen had some unique touches, but was dated and not a true reflection of our client. The existing kitchen felt dark despite an amazing amount of natural light, and the colors and textures of the cabinetry felt heavy and expired. The client wanted to keep with the traditional rustic aesthetic that is present throughout the rest of the home, but wanted a much brighter space and slightly more elegant appeal. Our scope included upgrades to just about everything: new semi-custom cabinetry, new quartz countertops, new paint, new light fixtures, new backsplash tile, and even a custom flue over the range. We kept the original flooring in tact, retained the original copper range hood, and maintained the same layout while optimizing light and function. The space is made brighter by a light cream primary cabinetry color, and additional feature lighting everywhere including in cabinets, under cabinets, and in toe kicks. The new kitchen island is made of knotty alder cabinetry and topped by Cambria quartz in Oakmoor. The dining table shares this same style of quartz and is surrounded by custom upholstered benches in Kravet's Cowhide suede. We introduced a new dramatic antler chandelier at the end of the island as well as Restoration Hardware accent lighting over the dining area and sconce lighting over the sink area open shelves. We utilized composite sinks in both the primary and bar locations, and accented these with farmhouse style bronze faucets. Stacked stone covers the backsplash, and a handmade elk mosaic adorns the space above the range for a custom look that is hard to ignore. We finished the space with a light copper paint color to add extra warmth and finished cabinetry with rustic bronze hardware. This project is breathtaking and we are so thrilled our client can enjoy this kitchen for many years to come!

The final result of the retro fit. The panels are mounted to the wall at 93" and the 23" long valances were mounted at 112" from the floor so that they covered the pleats but still looked like it was originally designed as one treatment. Client thrilled to be able to reuse these panels that she loved so much.

The history of the condo was honored with elements like the parquet flooring, arched doorways, and picture crown molding. Specially curated apartment sized appliances were added to economize the space while still matching our clients style. In other areas of the home, unused small closets and shelving were replaced with custom built-ins that added need storage but also beautiful design elements, matching the rest of the remodel. The final result was a new space that modernized the home and added functionality for our clients, while respecting the previous historic design of the original condo.

Extensive excavation and custom stonework create a luxe spot for enjoying the outdoors. Faced with challenges from the start, this project required expertise and precision from D. A. Dunlevy. We approached the excavation strategically, mitigating any issues encountered with temporary shoring solutions, extra soil containment systems, and careful design. The talented crew put in tons of stone to create a multi-tiered space, including walls, walkways, staircases, and space to create different zones. Set in the midst of a mature, wooded area, the final result is a feeling of old world beauty in the treetops.

Our objective for this project was to provide a complete remodeling package for a family home in Montecito, CA that could accommodate a family of four. This comprehensive main floor remodel transformed a dated early-2000s home into a warm, distinctive space tailored for modern family life and effortless entertaining. Located in Northwest Indiana, the home’s renovation included the kitchen, living room, dining-to-sitting room conversion, office, mudroom, and laundry—each space reimagined with layered detail and a cohesive design language. The project’s primary goal was to move away from builder-grade finishes and create a home full of character and comfort. In the kitchen, we reworked the layout to improve flow—removing a restrictive peninsula, extending the island for added seating, and designing a custom hood and cabinetry plan that worked around existing structural beams. A warmer palette of earth tones and neutrals reflected the clients’ personal style, while upgraded lighting, a statement range, and a larger pantry elevated functionality. A double-sided fireplace connecting the kitchen and living room was redesigned to feel more intentional, with cohesive materials used on both faces. In the living area, a previously underwhelming wet bar became a standout moment with deep green cabinetry, a wine fridge, and built-in storage—adding both function and sophistication. Throughout the project, structural limitations and narrow footprints presented design challenges that were met with custom solutions—from a uniquely shaped island to intentional lighting plans that worked around ceiling beams. The final result is a highly personal, connected series of spaces that support both everyday routines and meaningful moments of gathering—infused with warmth, purpose, and a relaxed sense of luxury.

The Beacon Loft project was years in the making, and the final result was certainly worth the wait. Elizabeth Strianese Interiors designed a kitchen that elevates a modern design with industrial details. The blue cabinetry is a playful counterpart to the original steel and wood beams and exposed brick. Beautiful marble and walnut adds an unexpected warmth. The niche of marble created its own construction challenge, as there needed to be accommodations within the cabinetry to fasten the marble from above. Another special feature is clever hidden ladder storage that tucks away into its own designated cupboard. Overall, the scale of the project was so impressive, and we were grateful to be a part of it!

Inspiration for a small timeless light wood floor and brown floor living room remodel in Seattle

Basement spaces reconfigured to create a beautiful basement bathroom. When a frozen pipe in the kitchen of this split-level home caused a flooded basement, the homeowners decided not to just keep everything as it was, but to take advantage of work being done there and make some improvements they'd been thinking about for a while. First, instead of repairing the laundry room, they moved the laundry up a level. Next, the former laundry space was transformed into a fully-functioning bathroom, borrowing space from the oversized bedroom next to it. That bedroom was then spruced up. The final result was a bright, pleasing bedroom with a beautiful attached bath.

This phase of the Upper Lonsdale full house renovation involved exterior structural modifications to accommodate new window placements and updated glazing. The scope included re-framing existing openings, structural header adjustments, precise window installation, and full exterior envelope integration. New energy-efficient windows were installed and carefully tied into the existing wall assembly, followed by professional stucco repair and texture matching to maintain architectural continuity. Executing exterior modifications in North Vancouver requires coordination with building code requirements, weatherproofing best practices, and long-term moisture management — particularly in our West Coast climate. The final result blends seamlessly into the original façade while significantly improving natural light and performance.
