The Fania Roofing Company recently completed the installation of a new premium grade, pressure-treated cedar roof system on this home and pool house in Bernardsville, NJ.
Fania installed a new, premium grade, pressure -treated cedar roof system which was performed by our steep slope cedar roofing team. This new cedar roof system comes with a warranty to cover the roofing materials for 50 years. Custom fabricated 16oz. Red copper perimeter trims were chosen to accent this spectacular cedar roof system. All penetrations and flashings were installed with 16oz Red Copper, which was performed by our Fania coppersmiths.

Copper valley flashing detail on a western red cedar roof replacement for this expansive Fairfield County, Connecticut colonial residence. We recommended and installed Watkins Western Red Cedar perfection shingles treated with Chromated Copper Arsenate (CCA). The CCA is an anti-fungal and insect repellant which extends the life of the cedar, especially in shoreline communities where there is significant moisture.

The crisp flashing detail at the base of the columns creates a floating aesthetic. The half-height walls provide some privacy for the porch dwellers.

Chimney flashing detail on a new Western Red taper sawn cedar roof on a mid-1700s farmhouse in the midst of a restoration. This home was way out there in Canterbury, which made coming and going a bit laborious but well worth the trip as restoring historic homes is our favorite type of work. The chimney flashing and rain diverter on the front are copper - aesthetically pleasing, evocative of the era while delivering utility and durability.

Dormer and porch detail on this expansive 3,700 square foot western red cedar installation on this sizable cross gable roof. This Killingworth, CT home has multiple dormers and chimneys; we installed chromated copper arsenate treated 18" perfection shingles manufactured by Watkins Saw Mill. We flashed protrusions and valleys with traditional copper flashing. In addition, we repointed all three fieldstone chimneys.

Dormer and flashing detail on as section of this expansive Hamden, CT roof where we recommended and installed an architectural asphalt GAF Camelot II roof. This project had us take the old roof down to the rafters, replacing all the decking with 1/2 inch CDX sheathing. We then covered the roof with full GAF ice and water membrane, replaced the valley and protrusion flashing with 16oz red copper and replaced the flat membrane roofing with Firestone EPDM. The architectural asphalt shingles we put on the primary residence and garage were in antique slate.

Connecticut Roofcrafters recently completed an expansive roof replacement project in Easton, Connecticut, showcasing our team’s craftsmanship and attention to detail. The homeowners wanted to elevate both the performance and natural beauty of their home, replacing their aging architectural asphalt shingles with a premium Western Red Cedar roof system.
Our crew began by carefully removing the existing asphalt shingles and preparing the structure for a long-lasting cedar installation. We applied CertainTeed WinterGuard Full Ice & Water Shield across the entire roof deck to ensure maximum protection against New England’s freeze–thaw cycles. On top of this, we installed a Benjamin Obdyke Cedar Breather® ventilation layer, which allows cedar shingles to dry properly and significantly extends the roof’s lifespan.
For the finished surface, we installed Watkins Mill Western Red Cedar Perfection Shingles, delivering a warm, natural aesthetic and exceptional durability. To complement the cedar and provide superior weather resistance, we fabricated and installed 16 oz. red copper flashings, including pipe flashings, valley metal, drip edges, and rake edges.
The result is a stunning, high-performance cedar roof that enhances curb appeal, improves ventilation, and offers decades of reliable protection. This Easton home now features a roof that is as structurally sound as it is beautiful—crafted with premium materials and installed with the care Connecticut Roofcrafters is known for.
