The swimming pool was built with 3 water features- with an easy to use remote or app on your phone to turn on and off the spigots. This water feature makes a wonderful play area in the pool, a spotlight for the tile, and can help circulate the water as well!

A fun, custom and unique creation we designed and constructed which incorporates many facets to your outdoor living experience! With symmetry in mind we still wanted to bring forth a "softness" to this ensemble. Soft arches and curves combined with a balanced layout and symmetrically cut stone. We used one of our favorite types of stone for the facade- an Oklahoma thick flagstone called "Ozark". We installed this in a dry stack pattern for all vertical surfaces other than the sides of the chimney and pizza oven where we used a buff colored mortar to create a shadow joint. A thick Pennsylvania Bluestone was used for the counter top. The intricate "thin flag feather" insets and backsplash is a Tennessee thin flgastone veneer called "Crab Orchard ( gray). This was painstakingly cut and installed piece by piece in a dry stack pattern. Extremely time consuming but gorgeous! The chimney sits app. 12' tall and the pizza oven sits app. 9' tall. Plenty of room in between for the Green Egg, sink, refrigerator, grill and cabinets. Low voltage night lighting was also incorporated into the backsplash as well as surrounding landscape. We also recommend a clean burning wood for pizza ovens. This one is stocked with European White Birch. These photos do not do this project justice, yet due to the season we will be posting better ones come summer time. Copper planters will also be placed on top of the 16" wide backsplash cap. Open concept wins again! This kitchen features natural stained wood floors throughout, along with black cabinets and sueded, YES! Sueded countertops. The client also desired a smart kitchen, so we made it happen. All of the appliances can be either started or monitored via the manufacturers smartphone app. As to not block the view into the family room, we opted for these nearly invisible glass globe pendants to keep the line of sight clean and as clear as possible. We went simple with the back splash, white oversized subway tile with black grout, allowing these black cabinets to stand out as the highlight of this kitchen. Did I mention the countertops are sueded?

When a past client referred his friend to renovate his University City carriage house into a climbing gym, we were really excited to take on the project. The century old carriage house had previously been used as a garage and a cigar room. Our clients wanted to keep the garage, and ditch the old smoking room. We demoed the walls and ceiling to expose the original brick and 14 foot vaulted ceilings. Once open, LU Carpenters built a 12 foot tall, 8 foot wide custom climbing wall, known in the climbing community as a Moon Board. To operate the board, our team carefully positioned cables, pulleys and attached a motorized winch equipped with galvanized steel aircraft wire holding a massive 1500 pounds. When vertical, it stands at a 10 degree angle and inverts to a challenging 50 degrees! The best part is that the board is complete with an app based custom guidance system creating LED mapped pathways to lead your climb to the top. The new walls are lined with additional plywood and climbing holds; and a barn door mechanism slides panels over the windows to ensure a safe climb. We are so excited with how this project turned out. Thank you to our clients for the fun and unique opportunity!
