A classic Portland foursquare, lovingly owned by an active and lively family of four, had undergone some unfortunate previous renovations that were in desperate need of updating. A cramped kitchen layout, lacking countertop work space, non-functional appliance locations (the range was floating on it’s own!), cramped kitchen nook not large enough for eat-in space and therefor left underutilized, and a general lack of storage all needed to be addressed.
To increase functional space, we enclosed a small back porch and re-built the adjacent nook, folding in the square footage to create an expansive kitchen footprint. We relocated the back door and added a back deck while creating space for a mud bench for littles to tuck away their gear! The enlarged kitchen now boasts a extensive natural light thanks to the addition of several windows.
An easy work flow was created within the new kitchen layout featuring an in-island sink with range and hood flanked by matching windows. Custom cabinet accessories make storage a breeze and provide a space for all the necessities to be right at the homeowner’s fingertips. The eat-in kitchen space allows not only for lingering family chats, but homework and craft projects to be done while dinner simmers on the stove. This kitchen truly is the heart of this home!
All of the updates were completed with the home’s original foursquare architecture in mind. with a focus on classic architectural molding styles, traditional window details, and clean-lined classic fixtures. Youthfulness and modernity are infused into the space with the contemporary handmade tile backsplash, rich and timeless green cabinets, and artistic wallpaper with a whimsical floral print and subtle European nod. The custom range in cream and brass is a stunning showstopper and a testament that even the most functional of elements in a kitchen can still be beautiful! Which one is the star of the show? How do we pick just one?!

This organic modern kitchen is the perfect balance of warmth, texture, and functionality, designed to create a space that’s as beautiful as it is livable. Our goal for this kitchen renovation was to blend natural materials with modern design elements for a timeless, elevated look.
The space features cream shaker cabinets paired with black and gold hardware for a sophisticated contrast, while a herringbone tile backsplash adds texture and visual movement. To maintain a clean, seamless look, we integrated hidden under-cabinet outlets, allowing the backsplash to remain uninterrupted.
At the heart of the space, the kitchen island offers both form and function—equipped with waterproof pop-up outlets, plenty of prep space, and striking matte black pendant lighting that anchors the design.
Every detail was thoughtfully planned for maximum functionality, including custom spice and cutting board drawers, pantry roll-outs, and pull-out trash storage. The design is completed with new stainless steel appliances, organic décor, and touches of greenery to bring a fresh, natural feel to the room.

This award-winning kitchen renovation was a special project for repeat clients for whom we had previously built an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU). Now focusing on their personal home, the goal was clear: create a larger, more functional kitchen perfect for cooking, entertaining, and hosting gatherings.
To achieve this, we absorbed the back porch and opened the kitchen to flow seamlessly into the front living room, allowing the space to comfortably accommodate large groups. Thoughtful design choices maintained both style and function, like the installation of a gas stovetop on the kitchen island paired with a high-powered hood mounted higher above the cooking surface, ensuring clear sightlines without sacrificing performance.
By opting to install custom cabinetry, these homeowners were able to maximize every inch of their space and enable unique storage solutions, such as dedicated cutting board storage, towel cubbies, a shallow pantry carved into the wall for spices, and even a clever cabinet gap under the wet bar for the homeowners' cat food area. Large French doors connect the kitchen to an outdoor living space, creating a natural extension for summertime entertaining.
To tie the renovation together, an original built-in received a fresh coat of paint, while a new fireplace surround was crafted, and the stone hearth update added warmth and charm to the living area. The result is a beautifully reimagined kitchen and living space that balances functionality, character, and the joy of hosting family and friends.

This custom laundry room remodel in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania showcases a thoughtful balance of functionality, craftsmanship, and timeless design. Completed by Craftsworth Construction, this project was designed to transform an ordinary laundry space into a highly functional and visually striking room that complements the character of this Chester County home.
The design centers around custom green shaker cabinetry, creating a bold yet classic foundation for the room. The cabinetry provides extensive storage for household essentials while maintaining a clean, tailored look that fits beautifully within the home’s transitional style. Tall pantry-style cabinets maximize vertical storage, while built-in base cabinets and open shelving add both practicality and visual interest.
A standout feature of this Chadds Ford laundry room renovation is the full-height decorative patterned tile backsplash, which wraps the entire workspace. The intricate tile pattern introduces texture and warmth, pairing perfectly with the deep green cabinetry and adding a handcrafted aesthetic often seen in high-end homes throughout Chester County and the Main Line.
Durable quartz countertops provide generous folding and workspace areas while maintaining a bright, clean surface that contrasts elegantly with the cabinetry. The integrated sink with a warm copper faucet fixture adds a refined accent while also improving functionality for handwashing, stain treatment, and everyday utility.
This remodel also incorporates premium appliances, including a stainless steel washer and dryer along with a built-in beverage refrigerator that adds convenience and flexibility to the space. The beverage fridge is ideal for entertaining or keeping drinks accessible while working around the home.
The flooring continues the tile motif with a patterned porcelain tile floor, tying the entire design together while offering exceptional durability and easy maintenance. Recessed lighting throughout the room ensures the space remains bright and inviting, while under-cabinet lighting enhances both visibility and ambiance.
Designed with both beauty and efficiency in mind, this custom laundry room renovation in Chadds Ford PA demonstrates how thoughtful planning and quality craftsmanship can elevate even the most practical rooms in a home. From the custom cabinetry to the detailed tile work, every element was carefully selected to create a space that feels both luxurious and highly functional.

Our homeowners wanted to improve their kitchen layout at their lake house and wanted an open, functional flow with increased storage, lighting and trending styles. We removed a non-bearing wall between kitchen and great room and created an area for a large island. These changes brought in their thirst for abundant, natural light and solved the bottleneck that occurred in the old space when the refrigerator was in use. The new layout provides ample storage space and open stations for friends and family to gather while entertaining. Updating the kitchen and living space enhances the function of the home.We converted existing outdated materials to be more attractive and functional: lighting, cabinetry, flooring, and tiled surfaces. We found ways to provide innovative materials for our homeowners’ selections by maintaining the use of the existing knotty pine beams, ceiling and posts and working with the existing ‘cottage feel’ while updating fixtures, finishes and flow through the space. Warm design elements are evident through use of copper accents like the hood, faucets, sink and cabinet pulls.

Reprioritizing & reconfiguring spaces to update master bath and create guest accommodations.
Project Details:
These homeowners loved the light, the views, and the compactness of their condo unit. The dining space could accommodate the whole family, they had private areas for quiet reading time, and they loved the location, the building and the community. They definitely did not want to leave.
However, the wasted space in the guest bath, the dark, depressing, heavy-feeling in the master bath and the lack of closet space for guests were all problems for them. They wanted a brighter, more inviting bathroom with more functionality and storage, better accommodations for guests, and the tv room to become a comfortable place to relax and actually enjoy the incredible view they had. The unit was designed specifically for the needs of the previous owner, but they needed their home to fit their own needs and lifestyle.
Our team helped this couple create the bright master bath they wanted, complete with additional functionality and storage options. The guest bath and sitting room were also both reconfigured. The guest bath was reworked to become smaller - but more functional, and the sitting room was expanded to become a fully-functioning guest room.
The reprioritization and reworking of spaces in this unit is a great example of working within an existing framework to create rooms that better fit the needs and wants of a homeowner. The new spaces are a much better fit for the lifestyle and aesthetic of this couple, while mimicking the warmth and welcoming feel of the existing spaces they already enjoyed. They are now able to fully take advantage of the views in all living areas of the unit and can easily accommodate guests in comfort whenever they desire.

We looked for pieces that were really multi-functional so all our client Albert could have all the functionality he needed to live and work in the space without overpowering the space with too much furniture.

This Grayslake homeowner was ready for a kitchen update that felt fresh, functional, and timeless—without the need for a full tear-out. Using a hybrid approach that combined cabinet refacing with new cabinetry, we transformed the space into a beautiful transitional kitchen that blends modern simplicity with classic appeal.
The kitchen features a clean Shaker door style in a stunning Nordic SuperMatte finish, paired with Sparkling White quartz countertops for a bright, sophisticated look. To improve both the layout and functionality, we removed an existing pantry cabinet and added new upper and lower cabinets, creating valuable countertop workspace near the range.
Functionality was just as important as style. We installed all-new solid wood, dovetail drawers with heavy-duty undermount glides, providing smoother operation, better organization, and long-lasting durability.
The result is a kitchen that looks completely transformed, functions better every day, and reflects the homeowner's style—all without the cost and disruption of a full remodel.

The goal for this 1939 Tudor-style story-and-a-half home was to create a kitchen that offered the conveniences, storage, and performance of a modern workspace while preserving the warmth, craftsmanship, and vintage charm that made the home special. The client, an avid home cook, wanted the room to feel as though it had always belonged to the house, with thoughtful upgrades that respected the original architecture rather than competing with it. Just as important, she needed a more efficient layout with enough storage for small appliances, so everyday cooking would no longer require carrying items up from the lower level.
Several existing conditions shaped the design approach. The kitchen retained original, amber-stained birch woodwork that the client wished to keep, and the compact footprint was interrupted by six doorways and two windows, none of which were to be moved, altered, or replaced. A previous flooring update had left the door casings undercut too short, creating visible gaps where the casing met the floor. The existing vintage 40-inch range also lacked proper ventilation, yet the client wished to accommodate a refrigerator, dishwasher, cooktop, double ovens, built-in microwave, and effective venting above the cooktop into the new kitchen layout.
To honor the original millwork, beaded inset-style cherry cabinetry was selected in a soft, hand-rubbed finish that will deepen over time and develop a natural patina. Charcoal-gray soapstone countertops complement the cabinetry while reinforcing the historic character of the home with an organic, timeworn texture. The former breakfast nook was transformed into a butler’s pantry, adding valuable base cabinet storage and expanded work surfaces for frequently used small appliances. Also in the butler’s pantry, a single upper cabinet was paired with open shelves to give an open, airy feeling while adding character and practical storage. A classic single-bowl apron-front workstation sink contributes both period-appropriate character and practical prep and cleanup function.
Because the home’s openings were such a defining feature, the design worked within the existing architecture instead of altering it. Custom plinth blocks were created for each doorway to extend the original casing gracefully down to the new natural red oak flooring, resolving the earlier construction issue while adding a detail that feels authentic to the age of the house. Despite the number of door and window openings, the new layout provides a significantly more functional, built-in kitchen with an improved work triangle for serious cooking.
Appliance placement was carefully planned to deliver the requested performance without overwhelming the small room. Three cooking functions (double ovens & microwave) were consolidated into one location with a GE Café double oven featuring Advantium Technology, while the client’s compact 31-inch refrigerator was reused to preserve space. A sleek 30-inch induction cooktop provides efficient cooking, and a Vent-A-Hood ARS ductless vent hood supplies needed ventilation without requiring a duct run to the exterior.
The finish palette balances richness, texture, and historical sensitivity. A deeply textured navy backsplash tile adds depth and dramatic shadow play against the soapstone, while wallpaper in the back entry echoes the tile’s geometric pattern to visually connect the adjoining spaces. Oil-rubbed bronze cabinet hardware and light fixtures enhance the warmth of the cherry cabinetry and complete the antique-inspired feel.
Lighting was layered to make the compact kitchen brighter, more useful, and more inviting. Vintage-style semi-flush ceiling fixtures establish the overall tone, while dimmable puck lights highlight select areas and undercabinet task lighting keeps work surfaces well illuminated.
The completed kitchen now feels both highly functional and deeply rooted in the home’s history. Rich cherry cabinetry, velvety soapstone, natural red oak flooring, navy tile, bronze accents, and carefully preserved birch trim work together to create a warm, cohesive space that celebrates timeless craftsmanship. By increasing storage, improving workflow, integrating modern appliances, and respecting the Tudor home’s original character, the design achieves the client’s vision: a kitchen that feels personal, practical, historically appropriate, and as though it has always been there.

This modern kitchen renovation redefined the heart of the home, creating a stylish and functional space that seamlessly blends form and function. With a focus on clean lines and contemporary materials, the kitchen now serves as a vibrant hub for cooking and entertaining.
Key Features:
Sleek Cabinetry: Custom cabinetry in a high-gloss finish offers ample storage while maintaining a minimalist aesthetic. The push-to-open mechanisms eliminate the need for handles, enhancing the clean look.
Bold Backsplash: A striking geometric tile backsplash adds a dynamic focal point, combining texture and visual interest with a color palette that complements the overall design.
Quartz Countertops: Durable quartz countertops in a light, neutral hue provide a sophisticated workspace that is both easy to clean and visually appealing, perfect for meal prep and gatherings.
State-of-the-Art Appliances: The kitchen is equipped with top-of-the-line appliances that enhance efficiency, including a smart refrigerator, induction cooktop, and built-in oven, all seamlessly integrated into the cabinetry.
Open Layout: An open-concept design connects the kitchen to the dining and living areas, fostering an inviting atmosphere ideal for entertaining family and friends.
Illuminating Lighting: Modern pendant lights hang elegantly over the island, while recessed lighting throughout the space provides ambient illumination, highlighting the kitchen’s sleek features.
Functional Island: The expansive island serves as both a cooking and dining area, with bar seating that encourages casual gatherings and social interaction.
This modern kitchen renovation not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the home but also elevates its functionality, making it a perfect blend of style and practicality for today’s culinary enthusiasts.

We are thrilled to unveil our latest bathroom remodeling project, a seamless blend of modern design and functional elegance. Here's a glimpse into the transformation:
1. Contemporary Palette: The choice of a grey color tile sets a sophisticated and neutral backdrop, allowing the features of the bathroom to shine. This hue not only exudes a sense of calm but also complements the contemporary design elements we've incorporated.
2. Warmth Underfoot: One of the standout features of this remodel is the heated flooring that runs under all the tiled areas. This luxurious addition ensures that even on the coldest mornings, your feet are greeted with a warm embrace, elevating the comfort level of the bathroom.
3. Enhanced Layout: Recognizing the need for more convenience, we repositioned the shower and introduced a second toilet room. This not only maximizes the use of space but also ensures that the bathroom can cater to multiple users without any hassle.
4. Dual Shower Spaces: By eliminating two angles in the bathroom's corner, we've carved out space for two distinct shower areas. This design choice not only adds a touch of luxury but also offers a versatile bathing experience tailored to individual preferences.
5. Wet Room Wonder: The shower and tub area now reside within a waterproof wet room. This innovative design ensures that water stays where it's supposed to, eliminating the need for a curb and offering a sleek, uninterrupted flow to the space.
6. Floating Vanities: Our floating vanities are more than just a design statement. They create an illusion of space, making the bathroom appear larger and more open. Paired with a stunning stone backsplash, they offer a perfect blend of style and functionality.
7. Illuminated Elegance: The mirrors, with their integrated lights, are the pièce de résistance. They not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the bathroom but also ensure optimal lighting, making daily grooming tasks a breeze.
This bathroom remodel is a testament to our commitment to marrying design with functionality. Every element, from the choice of tiles to the heated floors, has been thoughtfully chosen to create a space that is not just visually appealing but also supremely functional and comfortable. We invite you to step in and experience this modern oasis for yourself.

Interior and Exterior Design Project
This was an exciting interior and exterior design project for This house was purchased directly from a builder by a vibrant career couple with active children and a love for spending time with their extended family and friends. While it was presented to us empty, we still had input on the flooring, lighting, cabinetry, moldings and wall colors. We decided to go with a transitional design style and bring in furnishings with an emphasis on being comfortable for their large family and frequent family gatherings.
With a love for family gatherings and entertainment of the immediate and extended family we knew from the start that our design had to be beautiful, very functional and durable. Having worked with the this couple’s parents and sister we knew the family, their style and preferences. We knew this multi generational family loved being and entertaining with each other and we knew from the start that our design had to be beautiful, very functional and durable.
Since the family room and living room are connected we designed a seamless flow between them and unique ways to share the some of the furnishings between them. We began with a large sectional with cozy seating in the family room. We brought in extra swivel chairs guests could turn to the living room to converse with guests or swivel family room to and see TV. We love ottomans for extra seating in living room to accommodate 8 and can be pulled into the family room for additional seating. The carpet was selected with family in mind to look beautiful, functional and easy to clean.
En route from the family room to the kitchen eating area we designed a fully accessorized bookcase that complimented perfectly the custom built “only by Margali and Flynn” built in desk with hid-a-way doors hide homework and and paperwork when needed. In the kitchen we created a family dining center on the large central island with lots of stools.
In the dining area we installed beautiful dining set with functional leather fabric. We used suede with nailheads, a herringbone wool carpet and transitional circular lighting to compliment the traditional colors of warm blues and neutrals … all working together to create a sophisticated and comfortable feel.

This Byron Center whole-home remodel focused on making the house functional and comfortable for a family with school-age kids. The lower level needed to become a gathering space for relaxing and entertaining, complete with a dedicated craft room. The laundry room and mudroom upstairs needed a full renovation to handle the family's daily routine.
Our team designed the lower level around a custom live-edge countertop the homeowner selected for the kitchenette and bar, balancing its rustic character with a gold tile backsplash and fixtures. Upstairs, we installed dry-away racks in the laundry room and added an inviting color palette. Custom lockers were built into the mudroom to fit the family's routine.
The homeowner had already chosen standout light fixtures before the project began, and our designer, Alissa, worked them into the design, making them a true accent feature. We also preserved the home's existing laundry chute, which ran from the second floor down to the laundry room, by tucking it neatly into a cabinet rather than tearing it out. The result is a home that balances fun and function throughout, with every space tailored to how this family lives.
