The modern kitchen is a stunning space that combines sleek design elements with natural materials, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere. The room features mostly white cabinets with wood accents, providing ample storage space and creating a clean and contemporary backdrop for the other design elements in the space.
Wood accents, including bi-fold doors and a wood kick area at the kitchen island, add a touch of warmth and natural texture to the space. The wood complements the neutral color palette of the kitchen and creates a sense of balance and harmony in the room.
Black pendant lights hang above the kitchen island, adding a touch of industrial chic to the space. The lights provide ample task lighting and serve as a visual anchor in the room, drawing the eye upward and adding depth and dimension to the space.
Black hardware on the cabinets and drawers adds a touch of contrast to the otherwise neutral space, creating a sense of depth and texture. The hardware complements the black pendant lights and black faucets, creating a cohesive and visually striking design.
Clerestory windows above the cabinets flood the space with natural light, creating a bright and welcoming atmosphere while adding a sense of openness and airiness to the room.
Overall, the modern kitchen with white cabinets, wood accents, black pendant lights, black hardware, and clerestory windows is a beautiful and functional space that seamlessly blends form and function, creating a welcoming and stylish atmosphere for cooking and entertaining.

Care was taken to help this bathroom connect into the overall rustic feel of the chalet as well as bring in the unique features that create harmony with the natural mountain location. The existing ensuite lacked functionality, size, and luxury.
Manipulating and reassigning space allowed us to change the shape and enhance the amenities of this bathroom, while the entrance through the master closet provides separation and functionality.
The new layout gives the spa steam shower a feature location, closes off the toilet for privacy, and makes the stunning double vanity perfect for couples.

This remodeling project in Scituate, MA began with a unique challenge: the original architectural plans didn’t fully align with the family’s vision for their forever home. Woodland Builders stepped in to redesign the layout, creating a more compact and cost-effective plan that perfectly suited the family’s lifestyle and long-term needs.
The homeowners, who loved their neighborhood and planned to stay for the next 30 years, sought additional space, a functional kitchen, and a new bathroom. To achieve these goals, they moved into temporary housing, enabling Woodland to work efficiently and meet their aggressive timeline.
The remodel encompassed several key areas of the home, each thoughtfully reimagined to enhance functionality, style, and comfort.

Although this Hinsdale home was only about a decade old, the floor plan and finishes already felt dated. The homeowners expressed that the layout wasn’t working—particularly the disconnect between spaces they used and those they didn’t. O’Brien Harris was originally brought in to renovate the kitchen, but it quickly became clear that a more holistic transformation was needed.
The formal dining room, located at the front of the house, had long gone unused. Along with design Brynn Olson, O’Brien Harris reimagined the space as a high-gloss wine lounge that now opens onto the front terrace. The adjacent covered porch was enclosed and converted into a light-filled new dining room, making entertaining and everyday meals more inviting and accessible. O’Brien Harris also fully paneled the great room, adding built-in bookcases and reshaping existing arches to bring depth, warmth, and architectural continuity.
The galley-style kitchen is now the heart of the home. Designed for a family that loves to cook and entertain, it features a central island and a secondary wall of storage with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry to house refrigeration, freezer drawers, and extensive dish storage, outfitted with a library ladder. The cabinet finishes are a blend of painted surfaces and light oak, offering warmth without heaviness. Icebox-style strap hinges and latches bring refined vintage character to the space while emphasizing functionality with beauty.
In the primary bath, O’Brien Harris introduced painted cabinetry beneath a waterfall stone counter to coordinate with upholstered panels and full marble finishes. His-and-hers vanities and custom stone flooring complete the serene, tailored retreat.
This was a deeply transformative project, not only in terms of layout, but in the way the spaces now flow and function together—with O’Brien Harris cabinetry anchoring it all in timeless craftsmanship.

This full first-floor renovation transformed a family home in Northwest Indiana, originally built in the early 2000s, into a personalized, highly functional space that better reflects the lifestyle and taste of its four residents. The remodel included the kitchen, living room, a reimagined dining room turned sitting room, office, mudroom, and laundry room.
The clients’ main objective was to move beyond dated, builder-grade finishes and create a home that felt curated, warm, and distinctive—infused with layered textures, custom details, and a sense of ease. The living room posed the biggest design challenge, with awkward furniture placement due to two structural columns. We used these features to anchor a revised layout, integrating custom built-ins for storage and balance, and adding mixed metals and refined textures for visual depth.
A former dining room was transformed into a moody sitting room—contrasting the neutral palette used throughout the rest of the main floor, while still complementing it. The mudroom was reworked from a tight, underutilized space into a practical, polished drop zone with custom cabinetry and stylish utility.
Throughout the renovation, our team focused on improving flow, enhancing functionality, and blending each room’s unique character into a cohesive, elevated whole—resulting in a home that’s as livable as it is beautifully tailored.

This main floor renovation was completed over the course of a year and focused on creating a more open, connected layout for a busy Kleinburg family of four and their two dogs, who love to entertain. The previous floor plan made gatherings feel segmented, so improving flow and functionality was key.
The renovation included a new staircase, reconfigured walls, a custom kitchen, and a striking new fireplace feature wall. The clients wanted to transition from their traditional aesthetic to a timeless, transitional design that feels fresh yet classic.
Natural materials and soft, earthy tones were incorporated throughout, including in the redesigned bathrooms, to maintain a cohesive and inviting atmosphere. The result is a warm, functional home that brings everyone together—just as our clients envisioned.

Completed in collaboration with Hobel Designs, this Spring 2022 renovation transformed an Elizabeth home with a beautifully designed primary suite addition and a fully remodeled hall bathroom. The project was created to enhance comfort, functionality, and everyday living while maintaining a seamless connection to the home's existing character.
The new primary suite features a spacious bedroom, a thoughtfully designed walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom that provides a private retreat for the homeowners. The hall bathroom was completely updated with modern finishes, improved functionality, and timeless design elements.
Outside, the renovation extended into the backyard with a refreshed patio and improved pathways, creating inviting outdoor spaces for relaxation and entertaining. Every detail was carefully planned to maximize usability, improve flow, and create a cohesive experience both inside and outside the home.
The result is a beautifully updated property that combines elegant design, quality craftsmanship, and practical living solutions.
