This renovation consists of remodeling the existing semi-enclosed kitchen into modern open kitchen, with state of the art semi-professional panel ready appliances by “Thermador” and flush vertical cabinets by German kitchen manufacturer: “Bulthaup”. Reveals between the materials accentuate the simple geometries created by the new design. Champagne aluminum metal panels contrast the more subdued white panels in front of the staircase. Moreover, a hidden panelized door connects to a new utility room, pantry and laundry area. In the utility room, additional open shelving and countertop display commonly used appliances along with wine and beverage coolers are located away from the main kitchen area. Spaced was maximized by utilizing the area under the stairs to accommodate the laundry and pantry.

In the heart of Vienna, in a penthouse defined by striking geometries and sloping ceilings, Mobilificio Marchese has created a living space that stages a dialogue between contemporary architecture and iconic Italian design. Along one continuous perspective, Lorentz sofas with matching Lorentz coffee tables by Living Divani, Frog and Sumo armchairs – also by Living Divani – and the Happy chaise longue by Flexform define different scenarios within the same space.

Saturday, May 30, 1:30 to 3:00pm | Santa Monica Hightree by Jay Griffith of Jay Griffith Design This half-acre site is nestled into the Rustic Canyon neighborhood, and is the second collaboration between the landscape designer and client. Architect Steven Ehrlich designed the striking Modernist home fifteen years ago. It is set on the canyon floor amidst native California sycamores, the only holdover from the previous design. The garden is naturalistic in spirit, but carefully calibrated to include species that thrive in the canyon’s specific microclimate, primarily determined by soil conditions and limited light quality. A dramatic rectilinear elevated pool, based on the house’s strong geometry, offsets the sycamore’s angularity and curvilinear nature. The pool’s design is practical, it’s five-foot tall walls address safety concerns associated with having small children; but It’s also very sculptural, a seamless, buff-colored plaster-coated concrete monolith.
