This expansive Victorian had tremendous historic charm but hadn’t seen a kitchen renovation since the 1950s. The homeowners wanted to take advantage of their views of the backyard and raised the roof and pushed the kitchen into the back of the house, where expansive windows could allow southern light into the kitchen all day. A warm historic gray/beige was chosen for the cabinetry, which was contrasted with character oak cabinetry on the appliance wall and bar in a modern chevron detail. Our clients loved their old home but were ready for some updates. Based on the foundation and other historical clues, they believe it was built around 1890. The house was well-built and full of character. While it had a charming front porch, it was far from the kitchen and faced the driveway. We added a spacious side porch just off the kitchen, creating the perfect spot for outdoor dining. By connecting it to the original porch, we created a natural flow from the front door through the rest of the home. Inside, we redesigned the kitchen and dining area to open up the space and views. The homeowners chose retro appliances that complement the home’s vintage charm.

The new laundry room has evolved into a multi use room, as in the combo laundry with craft table and wrapping station we see here. The wrapping station has extra cubicles for storage, helping keep the wooden countertop neat and clean. We also have an undermount white porcelain sink and plenty of cabinet space above the raised washer and dryer.

Stylish brewery owners with airline miles that match George Clooney’s decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park second home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase. We collaborated with an architect to expedite the permit process, as well as hired a structural engineer to help with the new loads from removing the stairs and load bearing walls in the kitchen and Master bedroom. We also used LED light fixtures, FSC certified cabinetry and low VOC paint finishes.
Regan Baker Design was responsible for the overall schematics, design development, construction documentation, construction administration, as well as the selection and procurement of all fixtures, cabinets, equipment, furniture, and accessories.
