This small but practical bar packs a bold design punch. It's complete with wine refrigerator, icemaker, a liquor storage cabinet pullout and a bar sink. LED lighting provides shimmer to the glass cabinets and metallic backsplash tile, while a glass and gold chandelier adds drama. Quartz countertops provide ease in cleaning and peace of mind against wine stains. The arched entry ways lead to the kitchen and dining areas, while the opening to the hallway provides the perfect place to walk up and converse at the bar.

These terrific clients turned a boring 80's kitchen into a modern, Asian-inspired chef's dream kitchen, with two tone cabinetry and professional grade appliances. An over-sized island provides comfortable seating for four. Custom Half-wall bookcases divide the kitchen from the family room without impeding sight lines into the inviting space. A new home on East 41st Street in Sioux Falls has a beautiful StarMark Cabinetry kitchen in gray tones, designed by Brooke Langdon of Today's StarMark Custom Cabinetry, a StarMark Cabinetry dealer in Sioux Falls. The perimeter of the kitchen is the Hanover door in Rustic Alder finished in a gray cabinet color called Driftwood with Ebony glaze. The island is the Hanover door style in Oak finished in a gray cabinet color called Peppercorn with Ebony glaze. Some of the cabinets have glass inserts. The pattern is called "Water." The paint used for the walls is from Sherwin Williams; the color is called "Collonade Gray". The counter top is granite, in a color called "Titanium Black." Custom designed hanging glass cabinets frame in this view of the kitchen from the dining room. Centered below the cabinets is the larger of the two kitchen islands, both were constructed with reclaimed barn wood in the herringbone pattern and granite countertops. Each island include a custom-made copper farmhouse sink. The cabinets in the rear of the kitchen are also custom-made and were constructed out of oak, while alder was used for the horizontal slats. The Rain Glass door inserts added a nice focal point to the upper cabinets. The satin nickel bow pulls coordinated with the appliances, and gave the room a contemporary appeal. We replaced all of the dated and warn thermofoil doors and drawers with white lacquered soft close shaker doors; . Replaced the white vinyl drawers with full extension soft close maple drawers; replaced the upper cabinets and used rain-glass door inserts for accents; replaced the oven cabinet; all new granite counter tops, under-mount sink, wood wall caps. The homeowners changed out all of the appliances, all in all, the remodel made the area brighter and more convenient, without disturbing the original foot print of the room. Images By UDCC

Ulrich Designer: Julia Kleyman Photography by Peter Rymwid The design challenge in this kitchen was to combine sleek materials to make the space look modern – in fitting with the overall character of the home – and also to achieve a warm and inviting living space. Some special touches for the homeowners include the peninsula counter top that was dropped down to a more comfortable height for mixing and dough rolling. Above the peninsula a bean-shaped frosted glass snack counter sits on metal posts, creating an eating/snacking area. White porcelain tile with two chrome liners running around the perimeter create a clean backdrop for the focal point of the kitchen, a clear glass hood by Miele. A blue acrylic cabinetry finish gives the space a dash of color, while the cherry finish on the appliances side of the kitchen and on the sitting side of the peninsula makes the kitchen warm and inviting.
