This client wanted a transitional using the colors blue, yellow and grays. We selected navy fabric for the sofa. We used geometric designs, hounds tooth, and plaid in the rug and fabrics in grays, blues and yellows along with driftwood finishes. What a fun space to watch football as a family. Wooden Classicism Nesbitt House – Seaside, Florida Architect: Robert A. M. Stern Builder: O.B. Laurent Construction E. F. San Juan produced all of the interior and exterior millwork for this elegantly designed residence in the influential New Urban town of Seaside, Florida. Challenges: The beachfront residence required adherence to the area’s strict building code requirements, creating a unique profile for the compact layout of each room. Each room was also designed with all-wood walls and ceilings, which meant there was a lot of custom millwork! Solution: Unlike many homes where the same molding and paneling profiles are repeated throughout each room, this home featured a unique profile for each space. The effort was laborious—our team at E. F. San Juan created tools for each of these specific jobs. “The project required over four hundred man-hours of knife-grinding just to produce the tools,” says Edward San Juan. “Organization and scheduling were critical in this project because so many parts were required to complete each room.” The long hours and hard work allowed us to take the compacted plan and create the feel of an open, airy American beach house with the influence of 1930s Swedish classicism. The ceiling and walls in each room are paneled, giving them an elongated look to open up the space. A colorblocked wall in Purple Passion provides the perfect backdrop as an enhancement of the artist's own original artwork. We added coffered ceilings with recessed lighting; the interesting definition is created in the new coffered ceiling by adding additional depth with gray paint. This balances the purple wall and coordinates with sofa and animal print on the chairs. A hand-knotted custom rug in a contemporary pattern grounds the conversation grouping, and motorized shades can be lowered to protect the furnishings or raised to any point to expose the beautiful ocean view. We completely updated this two-bedroom condo in Midtown Atlanta from outdated to current. We replaced the flooring, cabinetry, countertops, window treatments, and accessories all to exhibit a fresh, modern design while also adding in an innovative showpiece of grey metallic tile in the living room and master bath. This home showcases mostly cool greys but is given warmth through the add touches of burnt orange, navy, brass, and brown. Home located in Midtown Atlanta. The original kitchen was dark and lacked storage space. It was cut off from the rest of the house and needed an update. We removed the wall between the dining room and kitchen and bumped the kitchen out in the rear of the house. We created lots of storage, a new island with seating and added windows bringing in much needed natural light. The kitchen is now a hub of activity for the whole family.

Preliminary architecture renderings were given to Obelisk Home with a challenge. The homeowners needed us to create an unusual but family friendly home, but also a home-based business functioning environment. Working with the architect, modifications were made to incorporate the desired functions for the family. Starting with the exterior, including landscape design, stone, brick and window selections a one-of-a-kind home was created. Every detail of the interior was created with the homeowner and the Obelisk Home design team. Furnishings, art, accessories, and lighting were provided through Obelisk Home. We were challenged to incorporate existing furniture. So the team repurposed, re-finished and worked these items into the new plan. Custom paint colors and upholstery were purposely blended to add cohesion. A beautiful Mamaroneck Tudor with its original tiny kitchen was badly in need of renovating. The homeowners shifted and enlarged the rear of the house to create a peaceful space with earthy toned charcoal grey Oak base cabinets and shiny back painted white wall cabinetry. Six integrated gas burners from Netherland's Pitt Cooking were fitted into the island, with Gaggenau’s tappenyaki grille for a efficient and beautiful integrated cooking and serving area.
