Living room - transitional formal dark wood floor living room idea in Boston with white walls, a standard fireplace and no tv

This foyer was originally a medium tan color with a heavy, dark chandelier. The client wanted to brighten up the space and create a more modern entry. The outdated chandelier was replaced with a chrome one with plenty of light. The warm wood floor was partially covered with a gray, blue and white rug. A gray upholstered bench with nailhead trim was added as a place to set bags and purses when entering. An antique wood cabinet that belonged to the client was painted in a pale gray Annie Sloan chalk paint and the hardware was updated to a brushed nickel.
