Veteran kitchen designer Alan Freysinger worked closely with the Fox Point, WI homeowners on this kitchen. Admittedly, not afraid of color, the homeowner loved Alan's suggestion of adding the wood veneer to the mix of cabinetry, adding an additional layer of interest and the addition of texture.
Design Group Three, together with custom Greenfield Cabinetry, stepped up the living pleasure of this Fox Point family's home.
When this kitchen remodel was first underway, the homeowner envisioned a blue kitchen (orange was her 2nd choice!). She went to the paint store & found blues she liked, taped those color samples to the kitchen wall & one by one she and her husband whittled down their choices to the color blue you see now!
From Milwaukee to Chicago, clean lines are much desired in today's kitchen designs. Design Group Three hears many requests for Transitionally styled kitchens such as this one.
Want a pop of orange? blue? red? in your kitchen? Milwaukee's Design Group Three can custom match any color in paint (or stain!) for cabinetry in your home, as we did in for this blue kitchen in Fox Point, WI.
Not sure if you are up for this much color in your kitchen? Begin with remodeling a bathroom vanity with a pop of color, live with it for a while & then, if you decide it's for you too, call in Design Group Three & we'll work with you to uncover your perfect color palette.
Can you imagine this same kitchen in orange? This Fox Point, WI homeowners preliminary vision for her kitchen remodel walked the line between orange & blue!
Blue kitchens are completely on trend in today's kitchens!
According to the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Transitionally styled kitchens, such as this blue one, are the most commonly requested design genre. In fact, in 2012, for the first time ever since the NKBA started keeping track, Transitional beat out Traditional as the most requested style by homeowners.
What exactly is affordably luxury? You are witnessing it in these photos. Discover it via Milwaukee's Design Group Three & Greenfield Cabinetry.
Transitional Style (also known as "updated classic", "classic with a contemporary twist", "new takes on old classics") in interior design & furniture design refers to a blend of traditional and contemporary styles, midway between old world traditional & the world of chrome & glass contemporary; incorporating lines which are less ornate than traditional designs, but not as severely basic as contemporary lines. As a result transitional designs are classic, timeless, and clean.
Lucky, lucky kitchen. Greenfield Cabinetry's interpretation of Midwestern Modern.
Seasoned Design Group Three designer & owner, Alan Freysinger's design details take their cues from your lifestyle, as reflected in this transitionally styled kitchen.
"The general color trend is a move toward bolder, crisper colors as a reflection of the 'anything goes' culture we live in now." - Jonathan Adler, Designer

The owners of this property approached LB LounsBury Group to request information on an addition to their corner lot property and re-finishing of their existing home, which would accommodate their growing family. Upon conversations that determined budgets and schedules and the necessary permit approvals, LB LounsBury Group began construction. This involved the tearing down of the small existing rear addition to the original house. Finishes throughout the house were aged and outdated. Electrical and mechanical systems were in need of upgrades, basement apartment had low ceilings and limited light distribution.
LB LounsBury Group lowered, underpinned and added radiant heat to the basement floor, created a legal basement apartment with 7ft. + ceilings, built the new 1000 sq. ft. addition around the tree root, protecting the natural element existing in the property. By the use of a helical pile, we cantilevered the addition to allow for the desired size. We installed new electrical and mechanical systems, built new staircases and installed a 14 ft. x10 ft. feature window in the new addition to allow natural light to penetrate the home. A new roof was built and siding was added to the addition for a profession finish look. Upon completion of the project, we assisted our clients with their move back into the home. The property was then estimated to have 2700 sq. ft. not including a basement apartment, and was evaluated to have increased in value by 40%.

A friend living here in Altadena, asked me to help her with her kitchen remodel. She had hired a design/build firm that was not listening to her. I helped her with a floor plan of the kitchen, removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room and expanding the space for more storage and a large island. Then we selected the material finishes. Here is the final result. Unfortunately, the builder did not follow our request to have the island cabinet in gray with a white quartz top. But it achieved our goal of more storage and a functional space for her to cook and bake. She loves it.

The modern design of the metal wine racking system with LED lighting is not only functional, but also creates a beautiful display of the entire wine collection. The light from the vertical reveal rows casts a shadow on the upper and lower wine racks, while the light that lands on the metal rods provides a glossy shine. This overall design gives the wine cellar an even more expensive-looking appearance.

We moved the sink from the diagonal corner and centered it under the smaller window. On the east wall, we removed the fin walls that projected into the room to house the old refrigerator.
I wanted to update the lighting and the homeowners requested that the kitchen be bright with lots of lights. New recessed LED lights are installed in the ceiling, all with dimmers. The wall cabinets have a LED light under them, mounted at the front for maximum task lighting. The wall cabinets also hold the state-of-the-art Legrand tracks with outlets at 6” on center, providing all the plugs one could ever need without breaking up the clean look of the backsplash tile.

Design for a couple who wanted to down-size from their current residence. They originally requested a 'Modern Farm house' style that evolved into a more modern design with the original materials the client wanted to use.
The home is very open, designed for a couple who can age with the home with larger hallways and multi-use spaces.
Wrapping around a central courtyard the main hallway has built-in storage and seating. Its light is transferred to the other spaces thru a diffused polygal clerestory.
The lot can accommodate an ADU for renting or additional storage. There is a screened area for the bugs of summer adjacent to the eat-in kitchen's bar area.

"no grout lines at the shower floor!" That was the homeowner's request, and so we built the shower with poured-in-place terrazzo. (The countertop looks similar, but it's granite slab.) You see terrazzo used frequently in commercial applications --- airports! -- but it's a great surface for residential purposes, too. We brought natural stone into the room with the beautiful shower walls, which softens the look considerably. I customized the vanity cabinetry, and had it painted a mint-y green --- and yes! those are deep lavender walls!

A detached barn and pool house was requested on the property to complete the client's 'english cottage' compound.
The barn was sited to frame the rear lawn of the house and serve as a buffer to the road.
It includes a sunken office finished in salvaged chestnut paneling. The windows facing the yard were designed to be reminiscent of stable doors.
A pool and complementing pool house complete the country estate.
In keeping with the previous phases of the project, whimsical elements including a custom dovecote built into gable walls,
german schmear stonework, and timber framing in the interior were integrated into the design.

Several years ago I designed this home for a client. At our first meeting I was told how much she liked angles as a design element. I obliged her request by incorporating an angular theme in the home's design which resulted in some striking features such as the family room fireplace shown here. Two or three years after the home was complete, however, I received a call from the owner saying how much they all loved their home, but that she could not find a coffee table for the family room. I responded by saying I felt I could design a table for the space. The end result is the brushed steel table you see here. Photo by Fred Golden

This beautiful traditional kitchen is a perfect gathering space. The large island lends plenty of space for entertaining groups of all sizes and room for a savory spread. The mix of white and black Dura Supreme frameless cabinetry keep this traditional kitchen modern for this young family. The open concept and lighting bring this design full circle.

The objective was to create a warm neutral space to later customize to a specific colour palate/preference of the end user for this new construction home being built to sell. A high-end contemporary feel was requested to attract buyers in the area. An impressive kitchen that exuded high class and made an impact on guests as they entered the home, without being overbearing. The space offers an appealing open floorplan conducive to entertaining with indoor-outdoor flow.
Due to the spec nature of this house, the home had to remain appealing to the builder, while keeping a broad audience of potential buyers in mind. The challenge lay in creating a unique look, with visually interesting materials and finishes, while not being so unique that potential owners couldn’t envision making it their own. The focus on key elements elevates the look, while other features blend and offer support to these striking components. As the home was built for sale, profitability was important; materials were sourced at best value, while retaining high-end appeal. Adaptations to the home’s original design plan improve flow and usability within the kitchen-greatroom. The client desired a rich dark finish. The chosen colours tie the kitchen to the rest of the home (creating unity as combination, colours and materials, is repeated throughout).
